5 out of 5 eggsNice Board

Pros: Easy to set-up right out of the box. Has everything the average user would need and more.

Cons: I don't care for the cpu smart-fan technology in the bios. I like the my cpu fans to run constantly, so I disabled it.

Other Thoughts: I will likely use more of these boards.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MoBo

Pros: This board overclocks very easily. Every thing worked perfectly with my Intel E6300. I would recommend this board to anyone.

Cons: IDE port placement was somewhat detrimental, but it was more a problem with my case, not the board.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Budget Board.

Pros: Quality construction, onboard sound and video and gigabit ethernet. It also has four SATA ports and one IDE interface for legacy drives.

Overclocking features are also fairly extensive for enthusiasts.

Cons: The onboard video is pretty weak (Intel), and the Realtek audio chip used can have issues with some PC games (And supposedly Windows Vists, but I don't and never will run that OS to know for myself).

One small gripe is that there is no option to alter CPU voltages for overclocking, so the PCI-E bus must be increased to compensate.

Other Thoughts: You can't beat it for the price. Gigabyte is known for making solid hardware, and this is no exception.

5 out of 5 eggsI Can't get away from Thsi Board

Pros: Has everything a Micro Board could want and More. Every Micro build i've done this year (4 so far) i keep coming back to this board.

Cons: Drivers MUST be installed AFTER Win XP SP2 Update. found out the hard way that the Sound and USB 2.0 wont install until after SP2 and even then it was a pain (mostly my fault for installing at 3am :)

Other Thoughts: Wifi would be Nice, but you can't have everything and with Wifi Changing so fast right now it's probly not a good idea anyway.

Pros: Cheap, small, plenty of USB ports. Works perfectly for what I was looking for. 3.2 P4 1GB Corsair, smooth as silk.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The driver CD is great! Installs everything at once!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Gigabit LAN, 4 onboard SATA ports, HiDef audio. Finally a uATX board on which the RAM slots are a far enough distance from the CPU socket so that the HSF doesn't hit the DIMMs! I have been using Gigabyte boards for years and I continue to be satisfied. I'm currently using this in a small fileserver with a Conroe-L Celeron 420 and a gig of memory and it's great.

Cons: The processor is located in a somewhat awkward location for the cold air intake tube on the side of my case but I'm sure that's a common problem. I have a massive Cooler Master heatsink installed and the top of it comes within 2-3mm of my PSU as well. Not huge issues, but they're cutting that pretty close. Also, the chipset heatsink gets really hot, but a little Arctic Silver 5 and active cooling should take care of that.

Other Thoughts: I don't see why mobo manufacturers still insist on including legacy LPT/PS2/serial/etc connections onboard. Imagine how many more USB ports they could have if they eliminated all the legacy junk. Maybe even onboard DVI and eSATA. Get rid of the floppy drive port too. It would save me from having to disable all that in the BIOS during initial setup.

5 out of 5 eggsOK so far

Pros: Everything works fine, looks nice, and its easy to set up.

Cons: only 2 ram slots, easy tune 5 doesn't work that well. North bridge heat sink gets kinda hot a times, if i ever run across a fan i might try to use it just for the fun of working on my computer.

Other Thoughts: real nice for the money

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Great low-cost board. Worked great with my P4 830D. Gigabit LAN. Small size.

Cons: Only 2 RAM slots. Only 4 USB ports. Neither of these are a serious issue at least not for how I used it.

Other Thoughts: I replaced a much more expensive ASUS board that had failed with this board in my wife's PC. This board has worked flawlessly for several months now.

While this may not be a great gaming board, it is a great PC board. It performs as well as any board you'll find in any major brand pre-built PC that I have ever experienced.

And don't let that it is not the greatest gaming board sway you either. This board plays all my games just fine and would play any game you have just fine for everyone except the most extreme gamers. Just remember that many of the gamers reviewing here are hard-core serious PC gamers. Their requirements are much more extreme than even many professional graphics and video creators.

This is a good board and shows that you definitely do not need to spend a lot of money to build your own excellent PC.
