5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: Fantastic motherboard. I've been a huge fan of Gigabyte for a while and this just continues that. Worked right out of the box without even close to a problem. I'm not much for OCing or tweaking but the programs it comes with make it very easy for someone like me to do so if needed. Helluva value!

Cons: The placement on the cpu fan power pin was probably the only thing that bothered me, I had to stretch the cable over the heatsink to reach the pin. That's probably compatibility issues with the fan/heatsink (Arctic Freezer 7 Pro).
That and the IDE plug is horizontal, not a huge deal but it was annoying plugging in an old HDD AFTER everything else was in.

Other Thoughts: Other than those two placements, the layout is fantastic and everything fits perfectly without a problem! A definite buy!

5 out of 5 eggsVery Awesome

Pros: 8 SATA Ports!!! Solid caps!! Very nice heatsinks on the chipsets. 1066MHz mem support. Came with very awesome SATA cables which lock in place. LOTS of options for just about EVERYTHING in the BIOS!

Cons: I'm pretty sure that the floppy connector/controller is dead. I needed a floppy for about 5 minutes, so it caused me some (very) minor headaches)... It's the only floppy, no big deal... Not worth RMAing... That's why this still gets a 5... ;-)

Other Thoughts: It would have been nice if the floppy worked... But like I said, it's not the end of the world... Though something to keep in mind... It's been a while since I bought a new mobo, the feature set on just about all mobos these days is amazing... This board is no exception!

5 out of 5 eggsVery good quality motherboard

Pros: Very versatile motherboard. Loads of SATA ports for RAID arrays. Fast FSB for the best quality DDR2 RAM. Support for Crossfire is an awesome bonus for videophiles. Easy to use and detailed BIOS.

Cons: Yes the Northbridge location is rather strange. I haven't used that expansion port yet so I don't know if the heatsink would be in the way or not, but that heat sitting next to my Video Card hasn't caused any issues yet.

Other Thoughts: Great product all around.

5 out of 5 eggsMake this #1...

Pros: This board has mostly everything you'd want on a motherboard... great audio, firewire, usb, plenty of sata connectors. Performs great! Currently running at low temps.

Cons: Needs the bride heat sink moved... somewhat blocking expandsion ports, not that important since I won't be using.

Other Thoughts: A+++ board... try it... you'll like it.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good board

Pros: I chose this board over the GA-P35-DS3R because it has onboard IEEE1394. It booted right away with no issues. There is plenty of room around the socket to install a Thermalright Ultima-90 heatsink with a 120mm fan on the CPU (a Core 2 Quad Q6600). Installation in a CM Stacker 830 case, RAID setup and Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit) installation went without a hitch. Plenty of USB connectors and most of the connectors are conveniently located. Upgraded from F4 to F5 BIOS and everything looks fine. PC health monitor shows CPU (Tcase) temp of 27C/80F and system temp of 41/105 during idle. CPU temp never exceeded 50C during Prime95 torture test with all 4 cores @100%.

Cons: This board has one less system fan connector than the GA-P35-DS3R. The Sys fan 2 and Pwr fan connectors are located along the top and bottom edge, I needed extender fan cables to reach these connectors for my 2 front fans. In the fan speed control mode, it does not control Sys fan 2. Also Sys fan 2 speed does not show up in Gigabyte EasyTune5 windows utility although it does show up in BIOS setup.

Other Thoughts: I am curious where the system thermal monitor is located, it seems a little hot. Although the manual is pretty good, I wish they would include more technical details such as fan connector amp ratings and location of system thermal monitor. This board shares the back panel I/O shield with the GA-P35-DS3R because the IEEE1394 connector slot was covered with a tab; you need to bend it out of the way for this board. I was disappointed to see that Newegg shipped me a rev 1.1 instead of the latest rev 2.0.

5 out of 5 eggsRevisions Plz..!

Pros: Honesty i dint purchase the mobo, not yet..but surely will if and only if Newegg is going to update to the product "REVISON" versions. Plz visit the manufacturer's site for info...n yes Newegg services rock!

Cons: new egg is bad at updating the revision info on their products. "Plz take note Newegg". The REVISION (2.0) of the boards are out, so take responsibility to update the info, images and of course the hardware as well.

Other Thoughts: the 'P35-DS3P' is the same board as the 'DS4' minus the heat pipe. so byers plz check and double check b4 buying, the images of the 'DS4' on newegg it self. Images are RVEISION (2.0)[not mentioned how ever]....also the DS3R needs update.. Newegg plz consider the request. lol

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Board

Pros: I have OC my e6750 to 3.8 no problems If you get a bad OC it will reboot it self back to the last known config. with out using any jumpers. If you want a stable board with all the OC option this is the one you want.

Cons: You cave to control F1 from main bios screen to unlook advance OC features.

Other Thoughts: You can store up to 8 configuations in the bios.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great, very happy

Pros: I bought this motherboard as part of a new Q6600-based system. I was up-and-running on the first boot. I built my RAID 10 straight off, installed Vista, and was off and running. Drivers, BIOS upgrade all installed without incident.

Cons: Minor stuff only. I had to buy a fan cable extender for my front fan in order to reach one of the fan connectors. I wish they'd put an extra 2 USB connectors in back and ditched the Parallel port, but I've got plenty of USB connectors plugged into the mobo headers so it's not that big of a deal.

Other Thoughts: If you are having trouble with Vista recognizing an IDE DVD drive in Windows DVD Maker, you may have the Gigabyte RAID controller software installed without a RAID on the Gigabyte HW (this is separate from the Intel RAID HW). Either uninstall the software (worked for me) or tell the BIOS that you only have IDE drives on the Gigabyte controller.

5 out of 5 eggsFast ENuff

Pros: Excellent layout, nothing gets in the way of installed hardware. Bios easy to work with. Booted up on bios with no issues. Vista H.Prem 64bit, Q6600, fully loaded 1066 Corsair, WD 350 3G, Samsung DVD, all Sata. The built in Raid on this board is amazing.

Cons: Would like to see a different North Bridge cooler, not a biggie though.

Other Thoughts: Unless you are very skilled in Overclocking, stay out of the Bios. This unit runs fast enough to set your hair on fire as is. Newegg is a premier company, Nuff said.
