I had to call the Fire Dept.
- Pros: Everything was in the box, Booted up fine.... see cons
- Cons: Worked fine for a week, then I started up a rendering program to render an object for my design class.... Decided i would go out to eat with a friend while it ran it's course... should be fine i thought...
Came back with the fire department at my house telling me that my computer caught fire and took out most of my room upstairs. Luckily my sister came over and saw that my room was smoking. Luckily it was covered under my homeowners insurance so everything got replaced... yes even the mobo, although i went with asus for the replacement. The fire marshal concluded that it started from my computer, although the exact cause could not be found, the reports of Flaming Northbridge is the likely suspect.... see other thoughts.
- Other Thoughts: tl;dr
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED BECAUSE THE BOARD CAUGHT FIRE AND NEARLY BURNT DOWN MY HOUSE!!!!
Good, solid
- Pros: Seems like it's quality, doesn't feel thin like the Intel mobo in this computer. Can accept up to 16 GBs of RAM, and somewhat futureproof for AM2 and newer AMD processors. Is running pretty cool and stable, lots of options in the BIOS.
- Cons: I've been hearing rumors of the Northbridge catching on fire, but all my temps have been fine so far. In fact it's running cooler then the Intel DG35EC (which I've had for about a year now) for my main PC. It's been on for about a week straight now, no problems.
Temps haven't broken 50 degrees C here.

#2 AMD 7750 Kuma Athlon 64 X2 8 GBs Mushkin DDR2 800 Sparkle 9500GT GA-MA790X AM2+ Windows XP x64
All from Newegg, best retailer anywhere!
Boil Water anyone?
- Pros: had everything i was looking for in a mobo. even am3 ready
- Cons: North Bridge runs at about 80-85 degrees celcius at idle... another 15 degrees or so and you could boil water on this thing.
- Other Thoughts: decent board for the price if the NB does not burst into flames.
