5 out of 5 eggs5 1/2 years and no problems

Pros: Ultra Durable is worthy of it's name. This MOBO is a hand-me-down (wife's computer now) but I gamed on it hard and it's still going strong. Things that have not survived: GPU and PSU.

Cons: none - very happy it's a product that lasts.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MOBO

Pros: I bought 2 of these boards 4 1/2 years ago and both are still rocking hard. Nothing fancy, XFX Radeon 4770 video cards and 8 GBs of standard G.Skill memory. Use linux and will run constantly for days, even weeks straight. Has over 16,000 hrs of run time. Depending on hard drives installed will have 3-5 systems on MBR. And have never had a single problem with board. It has enough USBs and other perifials for anything i do.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I produced 10-11 CDs on this rig, Audio mixing/editing, photoshopping and cover design, lightscribe design and burning of thousands of CDs. Ultra durable indeed. I am sold on Gigabyte and Newegg delivers best.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome motherboard

Pros: Very stable operation. Worked the first time. Great overclocker.

Cons: has problem with vdroop but does not affect opeation

Other Thoughts: best to let bios determine your settings when overclocking....does a great job and final operation is much more stable

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Easy setup, user friendly...energy star.

Cons: Nah, none

Other Thoughts: I used this MB in a build for my mom, a bit overkill for her but she'll be ok for 5+ years anyway. Great MB for a budget build.

5 out of 5 eggsCheck the Gigabyte Website For RAM First!!!

Pros: Flexible
Works well
Fast

Cons: No firewire port

Other Thoughts: Wanted to go for DDR3 and went the cheap route and bought Patriot Extreme Performance 4GB memory. Had random lockups in Vista and XP. Switched to OCZ Reaper DDR2 and it now runs fast and not a single lockup since. Check the Gigabyte site first before choosing your memory.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome value, great performance!

Pros: Great layout makes for fast install and upgrading. Quiet running. Simple to use yet powerful bios.

Included software is mainly bloatware sans the bios updater software. Which works VERY well. Keeps the board up to date with a simple click.

Cons: Would have been nice if they could have worked out a deal to get onboard XFi audio from Creative. But that's not to say the onboard HD audio is poor. It's quite good.

Pass on installing most the energy saver or over-clocking software. You can do it all in the bios.

Other Thoughts: Had this running in my system now for almost a year. It's fairly dusty yet I've never had one system fail. No BSODs or lockups. Even after bios updates. I run Vista Home Premium 64bit.

1 out of 5 eggsalmost installed xp before it died

Pros: lots of features, well packaged...

Cons: got about 95% of windows XP install and it shut down to a permanent black screen with any cpu/ram/video card installed.board just died. now I get to do my first RMA with new egg :(

Other Thoughts: im not sure "ultra durable 2" is a good description of this board..?

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality, even worse customer service

Pros: none, it doens't work

Cons: After using 2 different RAM brands, many hours of memtest86, and debugging BSOD it has become obvious that my board has a bad DDR3 slot. Slot 2 speciifcally. On top of that some of my USB's on the board are flaky. I sent the board back to Gigabyte. They flashed the BIOS, and sent it back to me without fixing anything or contacting me to try and figure out what the discrepancy could be between our tests. Customer service tried telling me I don't know how to configure BIOS which is just asinine. Ordering an ASUS replacement today.

Other Thoughts: I knew I was doomed as soon as I found out I had a lemon board. I knew I was just going to get a bunch of cop out excuses as to why the board isn't working. Don't waste your time with this company unless you enjoy wasting money and time.

3 out of 5 eggsExternal Drive Connector Problem

Pros: It runs DDR3 (and DD2) for a good price. Lots of SATA ports. BIOS update over the Internet actually works!

Cons: Connecting an external SATA drive via Gigabyte's special rear connector caused permanent (boot) drive errors and extreme slowness making the system unusable even after disconnection. It somehow damaged the motherboard and RAM and the boot drive had to be reformatted. The "problem" external drive works great in other PCs. Problem may have to do with their power scheme for the external SATA drive connection. DON'T HOOK IT UP.
Long delay after Vista startup until I removed their RAID driver. F12 boot device select screen doesn't support a USB keyboard but all other BIOS screens do. Didn't set CPU multiplier correctly one time (original board) and RAM bus speed another (replacement board).

Other Thoughts: No firewire port. BIOS is a little confusing. You can set something to Turbo, but you don't know if its working because it may depend on another setting. Do I set RAM voltage to Normal or Auto? I guess I should read the manual.
Board does not run SpinRite properly.
