4 out of 5 eggsGreat For The Everyday Computer User

Pros: Micro Atx, Onboard Video, GiGaByTe! Legacy Ports

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Used this to build a email/Internet machine didn't need much obviously. I gotta say Gigabytes boards are something else.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Low price, easy setup

Cons: 2x ram slots
1x pcie slot

Other Thoughts: I bought this board for my first build. It has worked flawlessly so far. Many reviewers have complained about the lack of OC options, that may be true, but i am running all components at stock speeds, so no issue there for me.

My Rig:
Core 2 Duo e7200 @2.53GHz
4GB G. Skill DDR2 800
500w Rosewill psu

Runs all my games great, Fallout 3 at high settings without a hiccup.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat performance with no problems

Pros: Easy to install components. Started right up and recognized everything right away. Bios is easy to set up (follow directions supplied). This is my second build with this series board and they have both been great. On-board video is pretty good and for general office work/e-mail/internet there's no need for a video card. Loading drivers and getting updates is no problem at all.

Cons: None that I can think of except this series never seems to be on sale or with free shipping. It's still a good buy no matter what.

Other Thoughts: I am very happy with this board and for a budget build it's an excellent choice. Great choice for a first time builder. I will buy this board again.

5 out of 5 eggsGood motherboard. I recommend!

Pros: Dual BIOS, good features, cheap.

Cons: Not much room for expandability, but hey, you know what you're getting before you buy it.

Other Thoughts: I used this motherboard for my first client build. Installation of Vista Home Premium 32 Bit SP1 was a breeze. Overall I'm satisfied and highly recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic for a simple test machine

Pros: Stable, inexpensive, and easy to overclock

Cons: Somewhat limited features, only 2 DDR2 slots, some limited overclocking options

Other Thoughts: I purchased as a test computer for work. Overclocking the E8500 installed in it to 3.8GHz was dead simple and very stable, even after a day of Prime95 testing.

Surprisingly, the integrated G31 graphics chip runs Vista Aero very smoothly and the whole machine manages to score 3.6 on the Vista index, even using the integrated video.

Overall, this turned out as a great little motherboard and I would gladly use it again for building simple workstations.

3 out of 5 eggsNot for serious overclocking

Pros: Very compact. Great for building a hackintosh if you are using a Powermac G4 case as the RAM can clear the DVD Drive.

Cons: Limited Overclock potential at least with the Pentium Dual Cores. Was only able to hit 3.11 Ghz on a 2.5 Ghz e5200 no matter what I did with the CPU Voltage. It was not a CPU speed problem either I tried upping the FSB and dropping the multiplier but it still would not POST.

I list this as a CON since the board is advertised as being 1600 FSB O.C. that would lead one to believe that this board is made for overclocking.

BIOS incorrectly set the multiplier for two CPU's (e2200 and e5200) so far incorrectly so you have to reset them manually.

Other Thoughts: Many people can not get this board to Overclock at all.

If you want to O'C you must manually set the CPU voltage. If you change the FSB and leave the CPU voltage on automatic the computer will not POST and disable the custom FSB settings.

I have built two computers with this board the other with an Pentium Dual Core e2200 both react the same with overclocking and have the same BUS limit of 249Mhz (996FSB)

I knew from the reviews this was not the best board for Overclocking but it is one of the few that can fit into a Powermac G4 case with the RAM slots close enough to the CPU to clear the DVD drive bay. The board also had to be compatible with Mac OS X in which case I wanted an Intel Northbridge and workable sound/LAN.

1 out of 5 eggspcie slot not usable

Pros: The price is right provided you don't need the PCIE slot.

Cons: The PCIE slot on this board is not usable due to the location of the RAM. A very bad layout design. My PCIE card could not be used because the RAM interfered with the card placement.

3 out of 5 eggsmild overclocks with fa beta bios

Pros: this could be a 5 egg board if it shipped with a good overclocking bios- board is very stable the bios flash utility works great 4 time i have had to use this utility in the last 6 months with new builds i save it first to my docs then flash from their once bios is flash this is still only a 4 egg board as it still has bootstrap problems that voltage and giong extreme could not overcome played with gtlref would only overclock on max all energy saving stuff disabled manual relaxed mem timmings could not get past 250 fsb changed cpu muti

Cons: 1. the bios that came with board would not overclock at all and dual bios would not reset board had to remove battery to get into bios again 2. a tested e2200@3.2 could only get to 2.75 ghz on this board at 1.28v prime95 stable 8 hours everest 3 hours 0 errors or hicups

Other Thoughts: this is a very good board if you massage it a little - and a 25 percent overclock is okay 5x dollar board above cons not real cons just a refrence for others

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Motherboard

Pros: Price/Performance ratio. I paired this motherboard with an Intel E5200 and have it O/Ced to a stable and cool 3.0 GHz on stock cooling with a minor voltage increase. I could probably go higher, but see no need to, right now. Has BIOS features more expensive boards have that allow Power User O/Cing. Energy efficient and small physical footprint in case = less heat.

Cons: Gigabyte decided to include a parallel printer port? This isn't needed because most peripherals like this are all attached via USB these days. Only two PCI slots which means if you have a dual-slot video card you are cutting off air flow if you also have a stand alone sound card installed. Also, only two DDR2 slots, but this is expected given the price.

Other Thoughts: This is my first Gigabyte motherboard. I was worried reading other reviews about getting a lemon (DOA boards, or boards that work for a while then gradually die). Mine booted right up the first time and the current F1 Bios that ships with it will recognize newer Intel Core 2 Dual and Core 2 Quads without an update (I updated to the latest BIOS just to be current, however). This board + E5200 is the bargain of the year for gamers on a budget and others who want top-tier performance at almost a third of the price.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Micro board!

Pros: Amazing little mobo! Read and booted up everything without problems, even automatically disabled the on board video when it saw the PCI-E card I had installed. A lot of fancy features that who knows if I'll need. Audio is mind-blowing for on board. BIOS is very easy to sift through.

Cons: Some of the apps on the disc are just the standard "give the user more stuff" apps with no real substance.
