4 out of 5 eggsA good three years

Pros: 10 sata ports, I used them all frequently. Worked with little need for me to troubleshoot. Survived three years of abuse.

Cons: had some issues with the on board raid. nothing serious and no data loss.

Other Thoughts: I shall miss you. They no longer make you so I can not replace you with another. which I would if i could... because you're dead.

1 out of 5 eggsDualBios didn't work

Pros: Everything. Fast, great I/O ports, durable.

Cons: @Bios and DualBios. I used @Bios (from within windows) to update the bios to F7. The process completed correctly and I rebooted. Bios failed to POST. I could not get into Bios (del) or Q-Flash (end). F9 would show a list of "default" or "last good boot" but neither would change anything. DualBios never kicked in. I tried the Clear C-Mos jumper & button and even removed the battery for hours... nothing worked. I can see the main and backup Bios chips on the board; why isn't there a simple pushbutton to replace it, like the C-mos button? Now this board I've been so happy with for the last 3.5 years has to go to hazardous waste recycling, since it's 5 months over warranty.

Other Thoughts: Later, while trying to fix this problem, I found that people everywhere have problems with @Bios turning their mobos to bricks. If this is a known issue, Gigabyte should fix their bios software... seriously, this thing could render your $150 motherboard useless. Why include it?? Unless you want people to use it and destroy their mobos??? They're not going to buy any more Gigabyte after such a dismal experience... they'll move on to other brands.

5 out of 5 eggsMA790FXT-UD5P

Pros: Arguably the best motherboard for AM3
Overclocked my PII X4 955 to 3.72GHz stable
Northbridge slightly overclocked to 2.2GHz, stable and could go higher.
Full PCIe bandwidth: 16x16x
Plenty of SATA ports
Onboard LED power, reset, clear CMOS
Fully stacked I/O
Great looking board

Cons: Would have liked to pay less but the price is fair

Other Thoughts: If you want a great motherboard for your AM3 processor look no further.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked right out of the box! No problems at all.

Cons: Sata ports are a little tight to get to but you don't have to get to them everyday.

Other Thoughts: A crossfire cable would have been nice. I bought two Radeon 5750's and neither had a calble. Had to call the manufacturer and have one mailed.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good reviews.

Cons: Worked for about 40 seconds, at 8 pin 12V connector board shorted out and fried the Rosewill 700W power supply. Newegg replaced both items. The replaced Rosewill power supply was dead on arrival (checked with an ATX power supply tester). The replaced Gigabyte MB had no video output and no 12V power to the CPU. Newegg graciously refunded my money after two bad motherboards and power supplies.

Other Thoughts: Two bad motherboards? I'm a fan of Gigabyte, but the problems with this particular mb was too much.....switched to an MSI MA790-G70 and an Antec 750W power supply. Have had no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Works right out of the box. Recognized all my components, booted Win 7 that was installed on a different motherboard.

Cons: Set my DDR3 1600 to 1033? I'm not sure why this happened but it was easy enough to correct in the BIOS. Not worth taking an egg off but be careful.

Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom II X4 955
XFX Radeon HD5850
4GBs OCZ Obsidian DDR3 1600

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: Great layout, Win7 recognizes everything right out of the box.

Cons: Only issue I've had is some slight background noise on my headphones. Tracked it down to the Center/Subwoofer out. Was able to redirect that output to the Rear Speaker port and it cleared up. Used the audio driver from Gigabyte's website to do this.

Other Thoughts: GIGABYTE GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
Phenom II X4 955
Asus HD Radeon 5850
G.SKILL Ripjaws 4GB (PC3 12800) F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
Windows 7 64-bit

1 out of 5 eggsUSB Short

Pros: Worked well for 1.5 months.

Cons: the front USB decided to start shorting out the MOBO when i touch it with any USB plug.

Other Thoughts: This is my only gripe and although everything else works fine this is a major problem!

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good MOBO

Pros: Came with F6 bios out of the box, running all 4 cores on AMD Phenom II 955 3.2 ghz black Edition out of the box no tweaking needed. Very solid board, well laid out. Make sure you get the proper ram for this MOBO, do your research, dont expect any old ram to work.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My system: this board
AMD phenom II black Edition Deneb 955 X4 3.2 Ghz
4 gigs G-Skill 1.5V 1600 Ram 9-9-9-24
CoolerMaster VE cpu cooler
HIS ATI 4890 1g 256 bit vid card
WD 640g HD
Sony Optiarch DVD
