4 out of 5 eggsGreat MoBo for 775 socket

Pros: Great little MoBo for 775 socket, cheap at $57 USD, works great for what I needed

Cons: only 1 PCI Express x16 slot and only 2 RAM slots

Other Thoughts: With a 775 socket, not too necessary to run SLI and the Mobo can recognize 8gigs of ram so it's definitely a great little machine. Only docked it for not being slightly more upgradable with no SLI support or 2 additional RAM slots

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: We live in a house with 2 dogs, 3 adults, and 6 desktops. We bought this when we realized we have enough parts left over from upgrades to make a computer. In additions to SATA it has IED and floppy controllers - useful for a project like this. Pins for front panel connections are at the front edge so short cables are less likely to be a problem. CPU power connector is pretty well positioned - I can reach it with my fingers with the board installed in the case - I usually have to use needle nose pliers. This is our third Gigabyte board in three years - all have been given good performance at a good price.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I know you guys are giggling at our "new" Celeron 450 single core system. But this should work fine for an internet cruzer and light word processor. Just remember, if your web page is taking a really long time to load the bottle neck is almost certainly not the processor. And if your term paper is late the processor slowing you down is not the one in your PC. We are going to get a lot more work out of our Celeron - thanks Gigagbyte!

4 out of 5 eggsRev 1.4, appears to work fine

Pros: I bought this motherboard for a Mac OS X setup as it is known to be generally compatible. It is rev 1.4. It was easy to install and comes with a very good manual also (my first PC building). Price is ok.

Cons: It doesn't come with an spdif cable to connect the audio to my video card. It also doesn't have HDMI or DVI, thus you NEED to get a PCI-X video if you want to enjoy any of the HD goodies of the 21st century.

Other Thoughts: I connected the reset switch wrong, I guess I was tired. But that's my fault, the motherboard is well marked and the manual is very detailed also.

2 out of 5 eggsDead, after two years of perfect function

Pros: The motherboard worked swimmingly for almost exactly two years. Fairly inexpensive as well.

Cons: The motherboard died, as if from sudden cardiac arrest. The machine wouldn't even turn on. I suspected the power supply, and replaced it. With a new power supply, the fans came online, but that was it.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid as a Rock

Pros: I have had this board for 1.5 years running pretty much 24/7, it has traveled over 1000 miles, and survived a life at college. Basically it is a rock; solid, strong, and a boring color scheme.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Very stable, no problems with Win 7 Ultimate. Very easy installation, runs 4 GB DDR2 800 without a hitch. Runs a Q9650 with no problems.

Cons: Only 2 ram slots. Takes up to 8 gigs but, 4 gig DDR2 dimms are a bit pricey. Despite many reviews (and newegg claims) board is NOT PCIe 2.0. I can't imagine 2.0 makes THAT big of a difference. I'm not really a gamer, but my HD4670 scores a 6.7 on gaming graphics and Aero performance.

Also bus is pretty limited. As many have mentioned the overclocking potential is pretty solid but only if you have a chip with a slower bus than 1333. High-end C2D and C2Q with 1333 MHz bus won't over clock at all. Then again who overclocks a 3.0GHz Quad?

No Wake on LAN, No RAID

Other Thoughts: Very happy with the stability of this board. I've been building systems for years and this is definitely ranking among my favorite. It's not intended for hard core overclockers, but I really couldn't give two shakes of a rats tail about overclocking.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Little Board!

Pros: MicroATX board with everything you need for a solid basic system, or an upgrade (I stuffed mine in an old Dell 4600 enclosure). Not that I'd ever use it, but there's even a FDD connector. The box contained not only the mobo, but two SATA drive cables, a PATA cable, a drive disk with all manner of goodies on it, and--would you believe it?--a real paper manual, written by someone who knew the English language (a PDF manual is also on the driver disk). The BIOS has the ability to easily overclock the CPU and set the memory parameters for those who want to do so. I am utterly delighted with this board!

Cons: Haven't found any yet. Intel's heatsink snap clips are a pain in the patootie, but they work.

3 out of 5 eggsCheap

Pros: Stable, cheap, does it's job decently.

Cons: Northbridge is way to hot. Touching it under a full load and you will know what i'm talking about. Mounted a fan on it, and that seems to keep it much cooler.

Other Thoughts: Find a way to cool your northbridge, and you shouldn't have to many problems with this board.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Budget Board

Pros: I have purchased 6 of these boards and the 5 that I have built systems with have been working great. BIOS updates are a breeze. Great board for the price. Excellent choice for a budget build or small business machine for office apps/emailing/web surfing.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Totally happy with this board.
