1 out of 5 eggsVRM cooling sucks & mobo won't hold up.

Pros: Easy installation, no real issues in initial build about 6 months back.

Cons: Despite having built a system that should be a gaming powerhouse, I've always had a weird amount of difficulty getting games to run decently. Thinking my refurbished video card was the issue, I replaced that for 200 bucks or so. When that didn't help I started digging deeper. Finally it came to light that the VRM on this mobo idles at around 80 C at all times without supplemental cooling. This seems to be culprit for my system's consistent underperforming. Heatsinks are only going to take 5-10 C off, which will still leave it running unacceptably hot. And this is with a 95w processor (forget 125w). Maybe I'll try to return it if I still can ... but it'd be a huge pain.

Other Thoughts: If I hadn't wasted my money on this mobo I could've saved myself 200 on an extra video card and hours upon hours of headache. Clearly this mobo isn't built for gamers. Maybe I just got a faulty board, but I hear now this is a common problem with this model and similar Gigabyte boards.

3 out of 5 eggsso-so board.

Pros: Cheap
AM3
Allows for unlocking and overclocking

Cons: SPDIF Optical broke in about 2 months!
RAM is pretty close to the socket
No VRM cooling, added my own.

Other Thoughts: I was livid when my SPDIF broke, Its a huge hassle to remove the board and send it in. Also I would be without my PC which I cannot do because I need it for school.

I do not know if I will buy Gigabyte again for a mainboard.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good board

Pros: When it was in stock it was very inexpensive. 4 PCIE 1x slots. Ample USB slots. Up to 16gb RAM. Nice BIOS menus. Recognized Mushkin Enhanced Silverline memory (very happy about that <3 Mushkin). Absolutely no problem with Win7 64bit professional.

Cons: One of my PCI slots is dead, but that may have been my fault from being reckless when installing a soundcard. The mobo software is not really that useful; the ETA system monitor software is very finicky about loading and running. Bigger CPU heatsinks (like the Zalman 9000 series) could be a problem when trying to install memory. Speaking of memory, the user manual says to install two sticks into the 1 and 3 slots to run dual channel, which it says alternate between the 2 and 4 slots. In reality the 1 and 3 slots are right next to each other, and are the closest two to the cpu. The channels are color-coded, so that's no big deal. Lastly, the screw placement on the board is bizarre and did not match up perfectly with my ATX case. Also not the biggest problem, but it is still something to consider.

Other Thoughts: This board is perfect for a low-budget, high performance build. Plenty of modern interfaces for your additions. It only has one PCIE 16x slot but putting a Radeon 4850 HD or a Geforce GTS 250 in it will be all the GPU power you need.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Mobo

Pros: Gigabyte makes great boards. Even though this is an inexpensive board and I did purchase it, I wish it would have had either a few SATAIII or USB3.0 ports on it for the price. The board is rock solid and i have an Ahtlon II x 3 processor and G.Skill ripjaw memory at 7-7-7-21 running on this board. I know this board will last for years with no problems. Everything run and works as it should.

Cons: No SATAIII or USB3.0, a tad expensive without these features.

Other Thoughts: Not bad, runs great though.
