1 out of 5 eggs3 strike and out

Pros: price and features ratio seems valuable.
bios and setup similar to most other brands.

Cons: Sent in factory for repair for locking up while loading bios 3 time with in 14 months. Now it is dead again and I am tired of sending it back again. Gigabyte MB is definitely out of my shopping list even if my customers requested for it.

Other Thoughts: My first choice among the economy brands is now ASRock and MSI the next.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your comments. We apologize for your difficulty with your GIGABYTE product. Please contact us at newegg-support@gigabyteusa.com with the case number 106625 in the e-mail subject line. Lockup/ freeze related issue, please check the following:

1. Check the CPU model on the officially CPU support list on GIGABYTE website to ensure the processor is supported by the motherboard.

2. Check the CPU temperature in the Bios to make sure it's under the CPU specification, normally it should be around 45-50C.

3. Inspect the CPU and/or CPU socket to for bent or broken pins.

4. If the machine is overclocked, undo the overclock to verify whether the lockup or freeze still occurs.

5. Test each memory modules, one at a time to ensure each memory stick can function properly.

6. If there's add-on card(s), remove it/them from the board to eliminate hardware compatibility.

7. Check the Bios version to ensure it's the latest Bios. Backup all your data before trying to update the Bios.

9. Check for loose power cable/data cable on the storage devices such as hard disk drives, SSD drives, external USB drive, USB thumb drive from the PC.

10. If you have a spare drive available for testing, disconnect the current drive and perform a new /clean windows installation along with the required drivers to rule out software related possibility.

1 out of 5 eggsHas Gigabyte lost thier mind

Pros: I'm to mad to leave any pros.

Cons: Why do I need an adaptor to use 2 of my onboard USB ports. I've been buying nothing but gigabyte motherboards for the last 14 years. This is one of the dumbest and stupidest things I've ever seen since I've been building computers.

Other Thoughts: I can't believe a company like gigabyte would do something so stupid. Gigabyte why should I waste my time to go look for, and buy an adaptor. Now I gotta spend more money on parts, and waste my time. When I have already quoted my customer.

5 out of 5 eggsHONCHO's review is ignorance...

Pros: A75 chipset, high clock rate DIMMs supported, 32GB max even though it has only two DIMM sockets, SATA3, USB3

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The first reviewer of this board was slamming others for having difficulties setting the onboard video port. He went on to say that this board doesn't include graphics....
Well no, the AMD FM series APU that this board is built for DOES!
I have to either say that this "High Tech Knowledge" reviewer either wrote this review for a different product or he is simply shouting out his ignorance. Either way he is completely wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsBad reviews

Pros: I can't believe the people that are giving this board a bad review because the graphics don't work. It does not have onboard graphics, get a graphics card or CPU that has the graphics built in. The available graphic ports on the board are meant to be used with CPU that has integrated graphics built in, some peoples kids, sheesh.

Cons: People that post bad reviews and don't know what they're talking about.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT GOOD WITH STEAM

Pros: Small and Inexpensive

Cons: NO BIOS UPDATES for the Bulldozer/Microcode Issues found with any game that is ran through Valve/Steam. It seems AMD released the fix to motherboard makers to add to their BIOS updates but for some reason Gigabyte decided they didnt need to on the low/mid level boards.
All their HIGH END EXPENSIVE boards got the fix.....
I will not be buying another Gigabyte board in the future....I have a socket AM3 board that the sound crapped out on and took a chance with this board and now it too has ISSUES.
Ill stick to other well known brands like Asus and Asrock....and MSI.

Other Thoughts: Good Luck finding a support e-mail address without jumping through hoops.....thanks Gigabyte for showing me how much you dont care!!!

3 out of 5 eggsWorst layout, but functional board

Pros: Cheap
Good budget/beginner board in terms of functionality
Not DOA
Socket FM1
Dual PCIe Slots
USB 3.0 Ports
SATA 3.0 Ports
DX11 Compatible
DDR3 Ram Slots

Cons: One of the worst layouts I've ever seen. Case fan power pins are on the opposite right corner of the board. Why??
Only 1 front USB connector. I have two of them so I won't be able to use 1 of them.
Front switch connectors are located under the main power connector so make sure you attach those before putting your HDD in or you won't be able to reach or see them.
Board does not come with foam to protect the circuitry on the bottom of the board.
Only 2 RAM slots. (I knew this already though)

Other Thoughts: This is one of the worst mobo layouts I've ever seen. Why on earth is the case fan power connector on the opposite side top right corner of the board? I don't even think they make case fans with that long of a power cord! All the pins for the front USB and switches and leds are enclosed in a module type thing with walls so it makes it even harder to connect the connectors. The front LEDs and Switch connectors are located under the main 24 pin power connector instead of on the bottom side of the board. Why did they feel the need to put this here? You have to connect those before adding your HDD's or you'll have to take it out again. If you need a basic mobo and don't mind a couple of head scratching moments/headaches, get this board. I bought this for a pc that is going to run an ongoing powerpoint slideshow and will be on 24/7.

2 out of 5 eggsVideo Out failure

Pros: Board layout is good, and 1 of the 2 boards we ordered worked. Decent value for the money. Have traditionally used Asus in our shop, but wanted to try Gigabyte again.

Cons: None of the onboard ports for video function. Tried all 3. System would post but no video. Used one of our shop cards in the pcie slot and video was fine. Even tried to fix it by flashing to the latest bios with no success in regaining onboard video. Also tried another cpu and ram. Guess this is a manufacturing failure

Other Thoughts: It seems that another manufacturer had a very similar issue with their A75 board. Asrock, and it appears that they may have been designed by the same hands.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money

Pros: Price!

Cons: first board from GA,the intergrated video ports don't work at all.the computer shut down immediatly before entering windows and have to turn off power for few sec to restart it but same happens.Tried with 6770 video card and working good. But I can't do the crossfire due to failed intergraded video.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but consider..

Pros: Everything with the motherboard has worked fine.

Good BIOS.

Easy set up.

I think it's pretty?
Very good things to say.

Cons: The DVI port is a DVI-D port, and does not work with all DVI-adapters.

it is also very very very close to the VGA port, so if you want 2 monitors..do some shaving off the connector/ get an external video card..
