5 out of 5 eggsGA-Q77M-D2H

Pros: First time building my own Hackintosh. Fit my HTPC very well. Used the stock CPU fan. Plenty of connections to support my build.

Cons: None that I could think of.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board!

Pros: No device manager errors and it plays nice with others! It also runs cool.

Cons: it doesn't make sandwiches

Other Thoughts: I always download all the drivers from the motherboard's website onto a USB drive before installing an operating system, so I did not use the included disc.

5 out of 5 eggsNice motherboard.

Pros: Great variety of video outputs, works fine with Win7 and Ubuntu. I like the 2 Sata III ports, as opposed to only one port on the B75M motherboards. I have no complaints.

Cons: Wish it had an eSATA port on the back plane. But I can overcome that with a cheap part that connects a SATA port to a plate on the back.

Other Thoughts: I had to purchase elsewhere since it is out of stock/discontinued here.

4 out of 5 eggsNo problems so far!

Pros: Owned about a month, running a dual boot hackintosh and windows setup. No problems. Have i7-3770, on-cpu HD4000 video (dvi), 4x4GB g.skill ripjaws 1600, cooler master hyper 212 evo passive with no fan.

Cons: The g.skill ripjaws memory heatsinks stick up a little bit, and the cpu socket is just close enough to the memory sockets that the cooler master hyper 212 evo cpu heatsink can't mount a pusher fan without hitting the top of the mem heatsinks. If the cpu socket had been a couple of mm farther away it would have worked.

Luckily I have an antec mini p180 case with a 200mm fan right above the cpu heatsink, so it stays cool enough. If it starts to overheat when I get a more VMs up and running I'll add the fan back on in a pull configuration (front of heatsink)

One egg off for that, since the hyper 212 is one of the more popular aftermarket heatsinks, gigabyte should have checked that. Maybe they did but just couldn't move the cpu socket - there's a lot crammed on the mb.

Other Thoughts: Easy hackintosh install with hd4000 video. DVI works fine, haven't tried HDMI yet. Very fast with hackintosh samsung 830 128MB ssd as boot drive on one of the Sata 6Gbps ports, have a pair of WD green 640's in a mac os x mirror for data.

4 out of 5 eggsHackintosh Success

Pros: Works as a Hackintosh motherboard.

Confirmed working with a Core i5-3570K w/ Intel HD 4000

• DVI + HDMI dual displays
• DVI + DisplayPort dual displays
• Optical Audio
• USB 2.0

Cons: Flaky in Hackintosh setup:
• Headphone audio output makes a loud pop when you resume audio.
• USB 3.0 not working (I ended up turning it off in BIOS, can't get it to work even reading through tonymacx86 forums)

1 out of 5 eggsUnstable

Pros: Cheap and easy to setup a hackintosh VM on.

Cons: On my second board. Both randomly reboot. The RAM is good according to memtest. Will be exchanging this time around.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

Your random reboot can by caused by aggressive BIOS settings, timing errors in your memory (which would not show up with Memtest), etc.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard.

Pros: Great motherboard for a budget gaming build.
I love the UEFI bios, makes everything much slicker and easier.

Cons: My video card was too long to plug in the buttons, ports, and such on the front of the case, but I managed to get it working.

Other Thoughts: Amazing motherboard.
