  • newegg GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 4 Plus GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 4 Plus debuts on GIGABYTE 8 Series motherboards, with a range of features and component choices that provide record-breaking performance, cool and efficient operation, and extended motherboard lifespan. GIGABYTE uses All Solid Caps (Capacitors) and Low RDS(on) MOSFETs which are rated to work at higher temperatures to provide a longer lifespan. GIGABYTE motherboards feature GIGABYTE DualBIOS, an exclusive technology from GIGABYTE that protects arguably one of your PC's most crucial components, the BIOS. GIGABYTE DualBIOS means that your motherboard has both a 'Main BIOS' and a 'Backup BIOS', making users protected from BIOS failure due to virus attack, hardware malfunction, improper OC settings, or power failure during the update process.
  • newegg High ESD Protection for USB and LAN (USB 3.0 only) GIGABYTE 8 Series motherboards raise the bar in terms of protecting your system, providing advanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection for both your Ethernet LAN and USB ports, both common sources of ESD-related failures. Each LAN and USB port is paired with a dedicated protection filter that can withstand high electrostatic discharges, protecting your system from common electrical surges, and even direct lighting strikes.
  • newegg One Fuse per USB Port (USB 3.0 only) On GIGABYTE 8 Series motherboards each USB port has its own dedicated power fuse that prevents unwanted USB port failure, helping to safe guard your important data during transfer.
  • newegg On/Off Charge Technology GIGABYTE On/Off Charge technology allows you to charge your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch regardless of whether your PC is on, in standby mode or even off. A derivative of GIGABYTE's highly acclaimed 3x USB Power feature, On/Off Charge enables devices to draw more current from GIGABYTE motherboard USB ports than standard USB ports allow, so that charging from your PC can be as fast as with a charger. (*Due to certain mobile phone limitations, users may need to connect the mobile phone to their PC before the PC enters S4/S5 mode to enable a quick charge from non On/Off Charge USB ports. Charging results may vary by model. *Whether to support 3X USB power design, it may vary by models. )
  • newegg LAN Optimizer - Intelligent optimization network management tool GIGABYTE LAN Optimizer is designed to allow the user to manage different types of network traffic so that data streams such as HD media, web browsing, or online gaming can be prioritized, taking precedence over large data downloads that tend to strangle overall network bandwidth.

2 out of 5 eggsflimsy SATA sockets; slow

Pros: cheap!

Cons: Kinda slow, but what would you expect for this price.
However, one of the sockets for SATA cables broke off with the cable, and others are rocking back and forth as if they will go soon too.

1 out of 5 eggsBoard died in a month

Pros: Very solid board, had all of the features I needed

Cons: Video output no longer worked after a month, integrated and discrete, despite the machine booting and running fine (could SSH into it and everything).

Other Thoughts: Customer service on their site is frustrating (tickets are question and answer format), and my account with them apparently no longer exists, along with my ticket.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA- 3 Weeks & Still Waiting For RMA

Pros: See Other Thoughts.

Cons: Board was DOA, contacted GIgabyte and they suggested I RMA through Newegg since it's brand new. Board would power on but no video. Sent in 3 weeks ago, 2 weeks later I call in and they said they would not accept my RMA, the CPU socket had bent pins which was caused my me?? After a while they finally believed that I didn't cause the damage and got approval for an exception and approved the RMA. The rep said the new motherboard would be sent out that day. I called back today after waiting another week and find out that the RMA was never processed by that department so nothing was sent out. Now it will be shipped today or tomorrow by 2 day shipping. My poor kid has been waiting 3 weeks for his new PC because of this nonsense.

Other Thoughts: I have another one of these motherboards in my other sons PC and it runs fine.

1 star is more for Newgg's handling of this fiasco than the board itself. I have spent LOTS of money at Newegg and this type of service is ridiculous.

1 out of 5 eggsAVOID THIS MOTHERBOARD

Pros: It has lots of potential... HDMI output, plenty of USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 connections, 6GB SATA headers, etc. It seems well built. If everything worked as advertised, it would be exactly what I am looking for.

Cons: The problem with this board is that it will not support more than a stereo audio signal, even though it is advertised to fully support 7.1 audio. I have tried both optical and HDMI output and get nothing but stereo, no matter what the source.

GIgabyte customer service is terrible, so they have been no help whatsoever. I have been dealing with them for almost two weeks now, and they continue to ask questions that I have already answered. I don't know if it is a BIOS issue or a bad motherboard, but their customer service seems to think that I will get tired of dealing with them and go away.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for a HTPC, so I am extremely disappointed with the lack of audio support. Who wants to watch movies on Blu-ray -or even DVD- and only have stereo audio? I configured other computers to send Dolby Digital via HDMI before, so I am aware of the issues you run into in doing that. I am even more disappointed with Gigabyte customer service. I don't know what to do at this point. I don't know if it is an inherent issue with this model of motherboard, a problem with the BIOS, or just a bad board. I guess I need to start the paperwork to get this board replaced, because Gigabyte customer support is completely worthless so far.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't Post

Pros: Saved money as part of a combo package.

Cons: Doesn't post. Tried 3 different power sources (ranging from 550w to 650w) and two different types of memory. No go.

1 out of 5 eggsMotherboard USB 3.0

Pros: At first seemed like a good motherboard, I built it for my brother who lives about a 1,000 miles from me. I had it runing and installed Windows Ultimate 64 Bit on it. I kept it for about a week then shipped it to my brother.

Cons: After I shipped it to him he reports that the four USB ports on the back and the the I installed in the front do not work onlyy the two USB 2.0 ports by the PS2 connector work. I have remote access to it and tried to get it all setup and working I also purshased a USB 3.0 devise and I never had a change to check it out for I had already shipped the CPU and case to him. Now I am thinking og getting another motherboard and maybe remove the old one and install the new one and hopefully all will work OK. I hooked up a hooked up a USB 3.0 front panel I know it saw a USB 2.0 device I tried on the front ports.

Other Thoughts: I thought that a Gigabyte motherboard would be a good one this was my first adventure with a Gigabyte, right now I am not impressed.
I have built computers in the past and this is the foirst complete failure.

5 out of 5 eggsI have 7 of these

Pros: Great mobos! nice, cheap, seem thick and high quality.
Haven't had a single failure yet, and I've been running 7 of these for about 4 months now.
The included driver disc is even great. No bulky or useless utilities (cough.. im looking at you asus), just drivers, google chrome, and the on/off charge software (which actually works!).

Board has a good amount of usb ports, and vga! i was happy to see VGA, DVI, and HDMI all on one board.

Cons: None so far really. When it comes to motherboards, if they work, they're usually great.

Other Thoughts: UFI bios is pretty cool looking too.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: All the video outputs you will ever need. 4K compatible.
Easy EUFI BIOS

Cons: shipped with bad BIOS, was creating this weird digital sound through the speakers. I upgraded to the latest BIOS and this resolved the issue. Phew...no RMA!

Other Thoughts: Just a great value. Worked out perfectly. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Probably the 4th or 5th Gigabyte board I've used. Good stuff.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good board while it lasted.
No problems running a g3420/i5 4670K.

Cons: A ram slot fried within in the 4 months that I've had it, out of nowhere. This is the second Gigabyte board I've had that has done this.

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte seems to be hit and miss with their boards. If you get a good one, it will last for as long as you need it too. But if you don't, the problem usually lasts outside the 30 day newegg RMA policy.

5 out of 5 eggsVia controller wasn't bad! Great board!

Pros: Lots of USB ports!

Cons: No more cons! Thought I had a bad VIA usb controller on board, but it ended up being a faulty flash card reader that I had plugged into one of the USB 2.0 board connections. Never thought a card reader could cause so much havoc!

Other Thoughts: Apologies to Gigabyte for previous negative review. Your product turned out to be excellent once I figured this out!
