5 out of 5 eggsCore i3 Upgrade Kit EIG3140 (as a whole)

Pros: The GA-H81M-HD3 Motherboard, 8GB GSKILL ARES DDR3 RAM, and Core i3 4330 are all compatible together and work well. Combined with my ATI Radeon R5 series 2 GB HD video card , I have no lag at all in MMO games such as Marvel heroes 2015 and I have not tweaked any overclock settings in Bios yet. I love the default performance, it is an amazing jump up from the Core 2 Duo system I had before!

Cons: None yet!

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this upgrade kit/bundle 100% to someone who wants to do a budget gamer build.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good motherboard

Pros: This is a pretty good motherboard. It is cost effective and it delivers the core capabilities of the Intel H81 chipset and some others.

Some of the features:
- USB 3.0
- 4K HDMI
- 7.1 Audio
- SATA 6 GB/s
- Named BIOS configuration profiles

I have tested this motherboard with Windows 10 Build 10130 and also with openSUSE 13.2 and I have not encountered any hardware compatibility issues.

Cons: I have lost the mouse a couple of times. Once after saving a profile in the BIOS and a couple of other times after system resume following system hibernation.

The board boots very fast or goes past the initialization very fast and so you have to be very quick if you want to go into the BIOS or pick a different boot device. I'd like to be able to configure a timer or extra delay.

I have created a couple of named profiles for some different configurations in the BIOS and it is not saving the BOOT Sequence/drive information as part of the profile. I'd like these profiles to be able to be selected upon system restart or initialization for either testing or booting with different sets of hardware or device characteristics.

Other Thoughts: This is a good motherboard that is very cost effective and delivers a lot of functionality.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to review

Pros: This baby is the sh!z|\|it. Still kickn' it super smooth after almost a year (April, 2014).
-Paired with an Intel i3-4330, and an SSD, this baby smokes up into the Windows 7 desktop in like 6-7 seconds.
-USB 3.0
-SATA 6.0Gb/s
-Display Port
-HDMI

Cons: -It's a Micro ATX form so obviously only 2 RAM slots and limited SATA ports.
-No PCI-E 3.0 and only a 2.0, but that's OK. I am using the onboard video using the Intel i3-4330 CPU to play 4K videos flawlessly.

Other Thoughts: I'm using this as a HTPC to play 4K videos. 4th gen Intel CPUs can handle 4K videos quite well. 3rd gen Intels and AMD CPUs don't do too well unless you have a super uber dedicated graphics card. Did I mention this baby boots up so fast if I just turn away when it's booting up, when I turn back, it's already at the Windows 7 desktop? Shutdowns take seconds only.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage Boards

Pros: Ordered 2...one of the worked (Yeah!)

Cons: Ordered 2...one of them DOA. First time I've ever had to RMA a motherboard that was bad out of the box....and then I get stuck with the bill to ship it back. Not cool...

Other Thoughts: Will not buy this brand again.

5 out of 5 eggsOptical out on value motherboard

Pros: Bought this board for my wife's kitchen PC that's on 24/7, connected to my sound system via a TOSLINK cable, and driving her DVI-attached monitor as well as our HDMI-attached TV. System stability is fantastic. Paired with a Pentium G3220, performance. Everyone else in the house has faster gaming PCs and this PC doesn't seem slow for how its used. This is her first PC build without either a discrete video card or sound card. No complaints

Cons: It would be nice to have two more DIMM racks in case I ever need more RAM, since up to five users are logged into this PC simultaneously.

Other Thoughts: Nice, quality full features little board

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Micro ATX Motherboard

Pros: I got this as an upgrade kit that came with Intel Pentium G3420 3.2GHz Dual-Core CPU and Adata XPG V1.0 4GB 1600. This all came in at under $150. I also paired it with a 6 GB/s SSD. This came together as a great basic PC for the wife and kids to play on.There are quite a bit of features packed into this and definitely worth the cost.

Cons: None that I can see so far.

Other Thoughts: On a side note about Newegg's shipping service, it was very fast. I got standard delivery, ordered everything on a Saturday evening and received it all in 2 packages by Wednesday. Thank you!
