4 out of 5 eggsIntel Ethernet driver on Linux

Pros: Power efficiency. No need for picoPSU if you build small computer.

Cons: This is the response to earlier reviewer about ethernet. It is most likely that the ethernet port that doesn't work is Intel under Debian, Ubuntu. This new chipset I217 is only supported by kernel 3.9 or later. So if you compile your own kernel it should detect it.

Alternatively, you can go to Intel website and download the kernel module.

4 out of 5 eggsWorking as expected

Pros: Mini-ITX board with a Q87 chipset for a reasonable price.

Cons: Can't get one of the ethernet ports to work with Ubuntu Server, but I haven't tried very hard. Would be nice if it just worked out of the box, hence 4 eggs.

Other Thoughts: One of the questions in the Q&A is if the motherboard comes with a power adapter. The corresponding answer is correct in that it does not, but mentions that you need to buy an ATX style power supply with a 24-pin cable. This is incorrect. Thin Mini-ITX boards require a 19v, 7.4mm OD/5.0mm ID AC/DC power adapter. This is usually bundled with a Thin Mini-ITX chassis. If you are planning on building with a standard Mini-ITX (or Micro-ATX or ATX) chassis, you'll need to purchase this separately. I couldn't find one on Newegg, so I had to search for "Thin Mini-ITX power adapter" online. I ended up with an Akasa Switching 120W Power Supply (AK-PD120-01K), but there are others out there.

There is also a 2-pin molex connector which also takes 19v as an alternative. I couldn't find anything in that format, so I'm using the power brick instead.
