4 out of 5 eggsReally good value board

Pros: Excellent upgrade path. Uses all AM2 CPu's. Says it's OK for Phenoms. Rated as a 'Black' series board. Went together well, mounting points were precision, aligned perfectly first try. Fired right up (I use a remote speaker to peep the board before I go crazy installing the cards) All sound, BIOS and connectivity issues were easily solved on the first start-up.

Cons: None really, not for what I was doing. I wanted an above average board with a strong upgrade path.

Other Thoughts: Board was an upgraded for an existing computer. Actually, all I kept was the old case and keyboard. It's a sleeper/junkyard gamer for the teenager. Link the MSI board with a MSi vid card and you'll get above average performance. We're getting high frame rates (60-using an older 15 in. monitor) and running cool (40-50F)

5 out of 5 eggsMSI K9N6SGM-V board

Pros: If you want a reliable, good, fast, main board this is an excellent choice. It worked great from the first time I started it up. Reliability is critical with a main board, because of all the problems you can have if it doesn't work right. I will be an MSI customer next time also.

Cons: Be sure all you need is two SATA connections and two IDE devices.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent MB

Pros: I have this same MB but bought it from another site and I'll tell you what its way better than what i used to have. I have an AMD Athalon 64 x2 running at 2GHz and 2gig of ram and a 8500GT Graphics card and it runs UT3 perfect at 720p.

Cons: None at all

Other Thoughts: Excellent buy for Budget building

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mobo.

Pros: Great MicroATX board for AMD chips. Cheap and reliable, runs great in my office computer and since I dont care about graphics, the onboard videocard performs with no problem.

Cons: Ugh, Asus mobos are picky about their ram. Just shop from corsair if you don't want to have any problems.

Other Thoughts: Newegg shipped it to me FAST.

2 out of 5 eggs'Meh'

Pros: From other reviews, seems to be stable.

Cons: The proc it shipped with was defective or something, because I've replaced pretty much every part in my build except this and the processor and it still fails to boot. The manual was tricky and poorly-written. I have still wasted months and about $100 that I would have liked to keep on this build, so maybe I'm a little bit cranky but I don't know what to blame but this.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Quality, Limited Slots

Pros: Bought this board to update my son's computer, which was still running off parts made back in 2002-2003. With AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Brisbane and 2 GB A-Data DDR2 800 RAM, it proved to be an economical update. No PC Express graphics card yet, but with onboard video chip, he can run his Star Wars Galaxy game. Easy and straightforward installation, despite starting with a loaded ATA IDE drive with drivers for the old board, everything started right up and Vista found every single needed driver already on the hard drive. No need for the CDROM with the board drivers. Other updates ensued once I was connected to the internet via the wireless card.

Cons: While there are two SATA connectors on the board, there is only one IDE connector. Since the computer being upgraded only had one hard drive and one DVD/CDROM unit, the board was fine for this upgrade. However, I had previously had them connected on separate IDE connectors on the old board and I had to reconfigure the entire inside of the case to get them onto a single IDE ribbon connector. This meant removing the floppy driver (no big loss), moving the hard drive to the very top slot available in the bay, and moving the DVD/CDROM unit to the very bottom bay slot. A little more work, no negatives on performance. If you have SATA drives, you wouldn't have this challenge.

Other Thoughts: Great bang for the buck. Running Windows Vista with Windows Experience ratings in the 4's for everything but graphics. Graphics ratings, which is using the onboard chip, are at 3. Plan to install a PC Express card down the road and that should improve. Haven't found a program it won't run at this point. There are only two PCI slots, which was fine for my upgrade. Onboard sound is fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT board!

Pros: Worked out of the box with PCLinuxOS. Only had to add the nVidia driver from the PCLOS repository to get full resolution and eye candy. Bought 2G Corsair, AMD 64 X2 4200, and DVDRW at the same time. Added a cheap box and a name brand 500W PSU for 9.99 after rebate. Added a flash card reader into a 3.5 bay. TOTAL box was less than $300. It's a SCREAMER with PCLOS.

Cons: NONE. I love this board.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent board for the price

Pros: Price of course. MSI reputation.

Cons: Wouldn't boot up from the start. No POST or anything. Went to MSI's website and visited the FAQ's on no POST. Changed the CMOS jumper from save (pins 1&2) to clear (pins 2&3). Waited the 15 seconds, then put it back to 1&2 and got a good POST with a "CMOS CHECKUM BAD" error, but booted with fail-safe settings and loaded the OS. Shut down the PC and later booted up with the same issue all over again. When doing a shut down, I had to move the jumper again and put it back. Same CMOS CHECKSUM BAD error. Sent back to Newegg under RMA. Waiting on the next board.

Other Thoughts: Could only use 4 of the 6 mounting holes with the case I was using. Don't really know if others have complained of this.
