4 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: Plugged everything in and it booted right up. Very stable with overclocking E2180 from 2.0 Gz to 2.75 so far. Will try to get 3.0 soon. MSI updates the drivers AND bios online from their website and through XP without having to use DOS (for bios update).

Cons: Onboard harware SATA ports 6 and 7 (Sil 4723) would not recognize my Raid 0 array on cold boot in the morning. Would work the rest of the day but I hated having to press reset to get it to read raid array. Switched to SATA 1 and SATA 2 ports and works perfectly (had to re-install windows!). Bios slightly confusing compared to some others in regards to overclocking. ON board sound microphone difficult to get working and was weak even with mic boost. Switched back to my regular creative X-fi card (supposidly same thing as onboard) and worked great.

Other Thoughts: Corsair Sli compatible memory 2 gigs (still running XP), 2 Western Digital Corvair 150's in RAID 0 (fast!!!), DVD drive, Dual core Pentium with 1 mb cache, 9600GT. This board is only PCIexpress 1.0 compliant. Right now microsoft flight sim is the only game that you notice a big difference in frame rates from PCIe 2.0 which is twice as fast and more expensive on the newer boards. I will use and upgrade this board for several years before games catch up to it's potential with 3 PCI express 16's and one 8X able to be used for video at the same time, and ability to use quad core.

4 out of 5 eggsOk motherboard

Pros: Lots of slots and pretty straight forward. Didn't have any trouble trying to get my ram and video card in. The XFI sound is also a nice bonus.

Cons: When I tried to install vista it kept freezing during the installation. It took me a day or two to try and figure out the problem. Turns out something (don't know what..) in the BIOS was preventing vista from installing. So you just have to update the BIOS (go to MSI's website). The sound card is also set to disabled by default in the BIOS, so you might have to enable that.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a good motherboard for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: So i got this Motherboard 2 days after buy, because newegg is THE BEST. Other than that i have found the board to be okay, nothing special since i cant get my q6600 to a stable overclock of 3.0 GHz with the 1.2 bios, im going to try to flash the 1.3 later today. Though im sure the overclocking is due to my lack of knowledge on the subject. So its not anything i could take an egg away for.

Cons: The overclocking. MSI's lack of intructions of flashing bios. I had to go in the help section of their website to find the correct instruction on making a dos boot on a flash drive, with vista.

Other Thoughts: Would of liked if MSI could of used the black and blue like the other distributers.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great board, needs to be flashed to latest BIOS to support overclocking some of processors on the market, (Using E7900, overclocked to 3.8 stable.)

Cons: First board I received was DOA. Newegg was very unpleasent about the DOA return, ended up buying a new board and refund the DOA so I would have the computer up and running within the week.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: fast, love having so many pcie slots, good sound,

Cons: had to update bios for 4 gigs of ram to work, not all software vista compatable, big overheating problem I run liquidcooling so I don't have a cpu fan and the voltage regulator would overheat event with 5 120mm case fans causing system to lock or crash dayly

Other Thoughts: its a nice board but I cant use it in my system maby if I get watercooling for the board itself. When the board ran it was fast.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Working great with a E8400,4gig ram, dual 8800gtx in SLI and creative X-fi sound card and 3x 150 gig raptors in raid O.very stable and no problems over clocking.Came with bios 1.2 and started the E8400 when I upgrated the bios it changed the clock speeds in the bios I quess for better stability.

Cons: Had two 74gig raptors in raid O and had the cold boot issue that others are having, couldn't find any fix for it anywhere, seems if you use the raid SATA plugs 6 and 7 on the mother board that the manual says to use for raid only it causes cold boot issues. When I set up the new raid I used SATA motherboard plugs 1 ,2 and 3 with same NVIDIA raid drivers and setup and no more cold boot issues.Oh when I first set it up the computer kept rebooting in games untill I upgraded the BIOS, because of the E8400 45mm processor.

5 out of 5 eggsBoard works Great! Very fast!!

Pros: No problems running the 1333 FSB, I have the 2.66 Core 2 Duo E6750 and had no problems. 2 -1 gig sticks of generic memory, and a 8600GT OC 512 video card.
Booted up first try. Didn't even have to relaod windows XP. Older board had Nvidia chipset as well.
I now own 3 MSI boards and all of them run stable and fast. All with different chipsets.

Cons: Had some difficulty installing the sound drivers for onboard X-fi. After doing some check around in the MSI forums I found this.

"If anyone wondering or have trouble with this on-board X-FI Xtreme sound device you will find and need to install these updates before you can install the creative drivers from MSI otherwise it will not work, they are browsed on the MSI drivers and utilities cd in \Sound\Realtek\HD\MSHDQFE\Win2K_XP\us. These updates are called the High Definition Audio Driver Package kb888111xpsp1.exe and kb888111xpsp2.exe. Then I installed the Creative drivers I downloaded from MSI website and device is recognised and working perfectly in Device Manager."
You only need to install one of the files depending on the SP you are running.
Also you can not be running XP SP3 when you install this update. You will need to install the X-Fi driver and apps disk following the above proceedure.

Other Thoughts: Always search the forums and newgroups before giving up. If you have a problem chances are someone else has as well and found the solution.
Don't let all the negitive comments people write about this board keep you from buying it. Understand when you are making thousands of boards there are going to be a few that will either have issues or just won't boot up, that goes for any board and any brand. My focus would be on how good their support is. MSI I have found will respond and work with you, unlike the other big dog. Not mentioning any names here. If you build systems you will know who I am talking about.
If it's a budget thing and you don't have the extra $100 for the next level up. (maybe closer to $200 after the faster memory upgrade) This board will do fine. Lots of features and the slower 800Mhz memory is not that big of a deal. I have another system running 1066 memory and it wasn't worth the extra money.
