Pros: Looks nice, pretty colors. Open box had everything that the retail one did for only $136. It was a steal for a 780i board.

Cons: No audio connection for your DVD or CD rom drive. How are you suppose to listen to a CD or DVD that's played through your DVD or CDdrives?? What is a JSPD01 connection??

Other Thoughts: Install your memory before your huge graphics card or else you won't be able to push down the clips

Pros: Worked for 3 months, SLI

Cons: Worked for 3 months so I had to RMA the board. I sent it in and got it back with half of the heatsink missing and the board looked pretty mangled. I called MSI and they said they would send me a shipping label. I never heard back from them. I called back a few weeks later and sat on hold for an hour. That happened a couple of more times. When I finally got ahold of someone they hung up on me. I called back again and someone said that they would send out a heatsink. I have yet to even see that. I also sent a couple of emails that they never read, apparently. Now I have a $250 paperweight sitting at my house. The lack of bios updates is also a good sign as to the way that they run a buisness. Also this board never clocked very well, my ram neverran at its rated specs and I never got proper bandwith results. This is all hardware that is running great on another board.

Other Thoughts: MSI has the worst customer service that I have ever delt with. I will never buy another MSI product again. Avoid MSI like the Plague!

4 out of 5 eggsUpdated review

Pros: Well I thought all the issues were resolved until I swapped to an E8500 for testing with a GTX 260 and OCZ reaper 8500. The video distortion in crysis warhead was unresolvable and went away immediately after putting a Q6700 cpu into it. I do not recommend this for anything over 3 ghz. So for someone wanting to use it for a Q6600 or a E8400 okay but that once you attempt to overcolck forget it. The nvidia chipset can't perform as well as the 750i board from the same company. I have 2 of those in my kids gaming systems for 6 months with no issues.

Cons: Video distortion and too many flashes needed to load Vista for the average person. The BSOD issues were with nvgts.sys and memory timing which is easy to fix. The FSB going to 1333 should not exceed 3ghz you have been warned.

Other Thoughts: The sound card and software were very and since I didn't buy it for it for that it was a nice suprise. The sli layout is nice as well. Using this for my son with a Q6700 and 8800Gt and he enjoys it for the game she plays. I play crysis and for that the upgrade path is either a phenom II or I7.

5 out of 5 eggsOC Board for experts

Pros: This is a great board once you work around nvidia 780i issues. I recommend it for experienced technicians since it requires flashing the bios to ver 1.2. You can only do that in XP due to the sata nvgts.sys driver in vista causing bsod. Once flashed and the driver updated either by newest nvidia or MS updates it rocks. Otherwise you will have to use a floppy to flash and that is not for the faint of heart. I have no complaints since resolution was obtainable due to my 20 years experience.

Cons: Board bsod problem took quite a bit of time to resolve but well worth it. I hope my info helps any out there. I believe this to be an Nvidia 780i chipset related issue rather than MSI. Once DDR3 comes down this board will quickly be obsolete along with 775 cpus.

Other Thoughts: Bang for the buck this board really kicks it a nickel with Woldale E8400, 8500 & 8600 series. With a GTX 260 and no OC I reached 13,500 3d mark. I will be experimenting with OCZ reaper 1066 2gb ram sticks 4 each for my testing a write a 2nd review.

2 out of 5 eggsWould not detect Keyboard

Pros: Good caps and overclocking potrntial, but I didn't get that far.

Cons: Shipped with bios rev 1.0. Per MSI tech support, this bios does support newer 45nm cpus. With my E8500, it would get to the "Press tab to post or del to enter bios setup" screen but would not detect keyboard. Tried ps2 and USB keyboards with no luck. After researching, I found several other people that had this problem. Looks like newer bios revs solved this problem, however no keyboard support makes for flashing bios a bit difficult. Huge props to Newegg's customer service in helping me out getting a new mobo. Opted for EVGA....

Other Thoughts: Had several other MSI boards with great success.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board so far 9 months

Pros: Intel Yorkfield Core 2 Quad Q6600/2.40 GHz, Zelmon CNPS9700 Led 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler, 4 G Crucial Balistic Tracer DDR2 1066 Ram. CPU running 3.07 GHz 1371 FSB (342 x 9) + .1250 V moved V-Core to 1.304/1.312 Ram @ 1077 2.1V 5-5-5-15-2T
SLI Ready- set to Expert, NB Voltage 1.325, SB Voltage 1,525 This is an update to my last OC attempt. I didn't raise the voltage enough on the first try. Really stable with no issues.

Cons: Can't sean to get the SATA wotking as I would like - found Nivida drivers that helped - running 2 WD 320's and WD500 along with 2 Lite-On Burners off stata ports
as IDE's. Really works great! It might be me so I not holding the SATA issue against the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: CPU started right up as 2.39 GHz and RAM as 800
I'm new to OC-ing so it took me a while to get the manual part figured out. Had it running 3.3 GHZ yesterday but backed down to 3.07 GHZ because I didn't want to push it. I like the lights on the MSI board and the Crucial Ram and Zelman fan - Look great in the clear Gigibite full tower clear side case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board so far 8 months

Pros: Intel Yorkfield Core 2 Quad Q6600/2.40 GHz, Zelman CNPS9700 LEd 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler, 4 G Crucial Balistic Tracer DDR2 1066 Ram. CPU Running 2.7 GHz 1200 FSB +.0500 V moves to Vcore 1.280V Ram @ 1078
2.1 V timing 5-5-5-15 2T NB 1.300 V SB 1.525V

Cons: Still have SATA issues and am running SATA drives as IDE 2 Wd 320's and 1 WD 500, 2 Lite-On - Litescribe Sata Burners
All is going great at this level - not able to keet stable above 2.7 though.

Other Thoughts: CPU stsrted right up @ 2.39 GHz Ram @ 800 - but only 1.8 V First overclock attempt - took some time to figure it out. I likr the lights on the mother board. Great layout

1 out of 5 eggsMSI P7N DIAMOND

Pros: REALLY NONE

Cons: THIS BOARD IS AWFUL THE BIOS IS OUTDATED AND WHEN TRYING TO INSTALL A Q9400 PROCESSOR NO GO, YOU HAVE TO USE A DUAL OR DUO CORE PROCESSOR 3.0 GHZ OR HIGHER. I BUILT OVER A THOUSAND COMPUTERS AND WHILE MSI WILL NOT GIVE IN THAT THIS USED TO BE A P7N SLI MB THAT THEY JUST UPGRADED A LITTLE IF YOU THINK THAT THE SOUND CARD IS NICE THAN YOU ARE PRETTY DUMB BECAUSE IT IS A 250.00 CARD GO FIGURE. WELL I TRIED EVERTHING AND NOTHING WILL LET THIS MB RUN STABLE AND TRYING TO GET ALL SATA PORTS TO WORK IS ANOTHER ISSUE THIS IS THE 4 TH MB I RMA 3 ALL WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WELL FOLKS I WENT BACK TO THE XFX MOTERBOARD 780i AND LOW AND BEHOLD NOT 1 ISSUE EXCEPT UPDATING THE BIOS WHICH IS COMMON WITH ANY MB BECAUSE THEY SIT ON SHELFS FOR A WHILE. SO THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IS IF YOU WANT TO WAIT FOR MSI TO PUT OUT A BIOS UPDATE WHICH WILL NOT BE UNTIL MARCH OR APRIL OF 09 THEN GO AHEAD AND SIT ON IT FOR A WHILE. WELL MSI TOLD ME THAT MY COMPONENTS WERE BAD BUT IT IS AMAZING I ONLY CHANGED THE MB

Other Thoughts: THIS IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF JUNK I EVER WORKED WITH A FRIEND TOLD ME THAT MSI HAD GOOD PRODUCTS AND I TRIED WELL I BUILT THE MAJORIETY OF COMP WITH LAN PARTY PRODUCTS IF YOU WANT QUALITY THATS WHAT YOU SHOULD BUY I AM GOING TO BUT THE ONE I WANTED WAS OUT OF STOCK SO I WENT WITH XFX WHICH IS EQUAL TO LAN PARTY

5 out of 5 eggsThis MoBo Rocks

Pros: First off I have owned this mobo for 6 months now and I have nothing but good things to say about it. However I don't overclock, but I have been reading posts and most of you are saying that there is some instabilaty with this mobo. I have not yet experienced any instabilaty and I bought it with bios v.1.0 but have sinced upgraded it to v.1.2.

So, for those of you that say it is not stable, you need to give it a chance. I did a lot of research before I picked the CPU and RAM. I made sure that they were compatible by checking MSI's Website.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My Rig:

This MoBo, Segate Barracuda 7200.00 500GB, BFG GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB, Intel E8400 3.0GHz, 4GB Corsair XMS2.

3 out of 5 eggsGood board when it works

Pros: This is a very fast board when compined with 4GB of OCZ ram and 3.16 Intel Dual Core processor.

Cons: Flakey, I had issues from the beginning with random lockups with windows Vista 32 and 64 bit. No overclocking and tried several different parts before I came to the conclusion that it must be the motherbaord. Also, several reviews state the same probelm as mine. RMA'd the board and waiting for the new one.
