Simple budget board.
- Pros: I had a bunch of extra computer parts lying around after upgrading my desktop, so I decided to make a dedicated Linux box. I was skeptical of this board, but it seemed like a good budget board for this system.
Installation was easy, and the board has never failed to POST. Does everything I want it to for a fantastic price. Onboard video works well for Linux.
- Cons: Not a thing so far.
- Other Thoughts: OS: Ubuntu 9.04
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 @ 2.33GHz RAM: 1GB GSKILL 240-pin DDR2 800 DVD DRIVE: LG 22x DVD Burner PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W CASE: Rosewill R101-P-BK Mid-tower (cheap!) GPU: Onboard (I'm running Linux, why would I buy a graphics card? :)
Nice Basic board
- Pros: This has been a very good, trouble-free board for a system that I put together from extra parts I had lying around. Booted the first time and has been nothing but stable with a Core 2 Duo 2.13 mhz, 2GB ram and a wireless LAN card. Reasonably fast. Good product at a reasonable price.
- Cons: None really, as long as your expectations are realistic. Limited room for expansion but what can you expect at this price.
MSI mobo
- Pros: This has been a great running board for over 6 months now. No glitches. Maybe not a gaming board but then I'm not a gamer...
- Cons: NO 64 bit support. I tried to find 64 bit drivers from msi website and they are not available.
- Other Thoughts: System is this board, E 5200 dual core cpu, 1 Tb WD HD, and IDE optical drives. DVD rip takes about 30 mins instead of 3 hrs. on my old p4. AVI to DVD conversion takes about 30 mins also..I'm pleased with this board,,just wish I could get 64 bit drivers.
