2 out of 5 eggsDecent board, if it lasts...

Pros: Easy setup and install into a thermaltake Xaser III case. A ton of overclocking options, ample sata ports. Easy bios update

Cons: Wake from usb only works with cheap keyboards and mice. I have several high end gaming keyboards, not one of them will wake the computer. Apparently this board can't tell that you have a $150+ keyboard connected, with a $200 mouse. Yet a junk dell usb keyboard works perfectly. Lasted ONE year

Other Thoughts: I've owned this board a year, and it wasn't turning on, my fans would kick on, not even long enough to make a single rotation. Tested ram in another system, tried a new power supply, even removed everything from the board, no LED, no beep, nothing. Asus here i come...

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: My first MSI board in years! I purchased this motherboard to be used as my new Media Center PC running Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit. This board offers 4 memory slots; supports ATI Crossfire, software based RAID, Virtualization Technology, and most importantly HDMI output up to 1080i (it also has DVI and standard RGB video outputs). This board also supports capacitive touch buttons on the motherboard for power and reset functions; very nice feature when bench testing a motherboard.

This motherboard has been running non-stop for over a month with no lock-ups or issues. I currently have over 30 hours of video stored using Media Center; simply put I have found this motherboard TO BE ROCK SOLID. This board also offers some very striking blue/sliver/black combinations that look very good in a system with other color matched components. I would strongly urge anyone who wants to setup a Media Center PC to consider this motherboard.

Cons: The following is more of personal tastes than actual issues. I would really like to see normal up-right SATA connectors; I don’t personally like having to buy right-angle SATA cables. Also this is a ATX form factor which will NOT fix into a HTPC-based case (my mistake when ordering). I won't award 5 eggs until I setup and test RAID. Someone made the claim that RAID will not work; I will test and verify and update later.

Other Thoughts: The motherboard manual shows actual switches for the power, reset functions when the production models use simple capacitive touch buttons (you simply touch the PCB of the motherboard). There is a one touch button for overclocking and there are also buttons for manually increasing and decreasing the system clock. I make it a habit NOT to overclock because reliability to me is more important that performance when you have a technically challenged significant other. Now the burn time. I frankly think there are a number of individuals that simply do not have the technical expertise to assemble systems. I teach computer hardware classes at a tech college and I have been building systems since the days of 486-based systems; I can count the number of bad motherboards that I have had to replace on less than one hand. I have never had a DOA motherboard…EVER. People simply need to observe ESD precautions and bench test a motherboard. Please take all DOA claims with a grain of salt.

4 out of 5 eggsOC Genie

Pros: The Mobo was really easy to set up especially the hardware.

Cons: When plugging in some of the hardware you have to really read into the manual or you will miss it. Also My big issue is the famous OC Genie, which on my system when you go to the Control center after enabling it within Bios... It does nothing it just sits there for minutes to hours detecting CPU, Detecting Memory Module. I might as well not have bought this board for that reason.

Other Thoughts: Also i figure as a company posting a spelling error on the OC Genie should have been looked at just makes it seem like they didn't put enough effort into it. I mean it says "With different hardware configuration, detection time may be different but mostly the detection can be done in a few seconds. OC Genie is presently the world fist, most advanced overclocking technology. " First not fist. I just find that its not as easy as just push this button and poof your computer is Overclocked.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Board

Pros: Very affordable, offers i3/i5/i7 support, ATX form factor, lots of connections (optical audio out, usb ports, ps/2 ports, etc.) supports DDR3 up to 1333 MHz without needing to overclock, supports crossfire in dual x8/x8 mode (only with the core iX processors that do not have onboard video, such as the i5 Lynnfields).

Cons: If you use some of the newer video cards, such as the ATI HD 5770, in the top PCI-Ex16 slot it will completely cover up the PCI-Ex1 slot directly below it and leave very little clearance for the second PCI-Ex1 slot under it (you might be able to fit a PCI-Ex1 sound card here, but the cards might touch it's very tight). I put my Soundblaster Titanium PCI-E in the second PCI-Ex16 slot for the time being since there is more clearance between the video card that way. Also it doesn't support SLI, but that wasn't an issue for me as I always use ATI.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am very satisfied with the board. This was my first time building a computer and the installation was pretty easy. I run all the modern games with my new setup flawlessly. Just be aware that if you plan to run a crossfire setup, you MAY not be able to fit a PCI-E sound card in. Also be aware that crossfire is supposedly not supported if you use a Core iX processor with onboard video (such as the Clarkdale processors).

3 out of 5 eggsSolid board

Pros: Not too pricey, but lots of room to grow if you're setting up system on a budget, good layout, good variety of slots and features.

Cons: One of the PCI slots did not work.

Other Thoughts: It really sucks when everything is put together, O/S is installed, all hardware is running fine except the network card. I switched the card to another vacant PCI slot and it worked fine. After spending a full day building and installing the O/S I wasn't going to RMA for 1 antiquated slot. But it certainly makes me wonder if there are any other slots that won't work when I end up using them.

I would definitely invest in a PCI slot tester if you plan on building with this board.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Motherboard

Pros: NOTHING

Cons: I thought I would try this MSI motherboard as I have never used MSI products before, wrong choice. As said in other feed backs this board did not work when it was delivered. Not only that but almost all the pins were bent.
