2 out of 5 eggsNot 2 yrs old, now outdated

Pros: OC Genie
OC options, versatility.
USB 3.0
6gb SATA

Runs my 1090T stable at ~4GHz.

Cons: Only 16gb RAM
unstable RAM OC'ing.
Lucid Logix

Other Thoughts: I've had this board a little over a year. The last BIOS update was February of 2011. I just got an XFX Radeon 6950 and have been getting constant bluescreens and Hypertransport Sync errors.

Considering other MSI boards have gotten AMD AGESA code updates to their BIOS twice this year, including this month, I can only imagine this board isn't being updated anymore, and this could be the root cause of my problem. From what I understand this code links directly with Hypertransport behavior.

This board was golden. Sad to see it become outdated so soon :(

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but not perfect

Pros: - USB 3
- SATA 3
- PCI X16 Slot/s
- Runs relatively fast RAM
- Quality components and
- No mobo related hardware issues after 1 year.
- Possible to Enable SLI

So farfor me a great value.

Cons: BIOS are sort of non-intuitive. I had to reset my RAM timings after first installing because the proper ones were not auto-detected. I eventually found the proper menu option after 30 minutes of searching in an obscure location. Afterwards worked fine though.

My biggest qualm by far is the lucid hydralogix chip. I purchased this board a year ago after a lot of research because this chip looked like a promising alternative to SLI after more driver development. However even after a year of updated drivers the N-mode on this board has terrible to non existent performance increases and crashes, evident in both benchmarks and game tests. I'm running two GTX 460's, one 1gb, the other a GTX with 768mb. This combination should not be tough for this system considering they are nearly identical cards and the chip is able to run much less friendly card combinations.

All in all only worth -1 egg

Other Thoughts: Luckily its acually possible to enable SLI on this chipset (AMD 770) with little effort which allowed me to run one of my cards as a designated PhysX.

1 out of 5 eggsFuzion is junk.

Pros: The board has SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.0, and two PCI-E 16x slots. The sound is pretty good except for the issue mentioned below (pretty mild, just weird).

The M-Flash BIOS technology is flat out amazing. That technology gets 5 Eggs all by itself.

Cons: Fuzion is garbage. I finally had to disable it completely to get my video to work correctly. It caused random crashes all of the time. Now, a year after purchasing it, my SATA controllers (both the 3Gb/s and 6Gb/s) are randomly crashing and losing my drives.

MSI makes great products, but skip anything with Fuzion in it. That technology is buggy on its best day and complete drek the rest of the time. Having to update the software constantly in the hopes that it might support the game you are playing is ridiculous.

Other Thoughts: For some reason, the BIOS includes C1E support - according to AMD Support, that is an Intel only setting. Why is it on an AMD board (FYI, enabling it will cause your system to crash constantly).

MSI has a weird issue with the Realtek sound devices on their boards. They sound wonderful, but sometimes forget where the outputs are located and randomly move them to different plugs or randomly tell me that I have unplugged or plugged something in when I haven't. This has happened to me on three different boards.

Pros: excellent mobo. recognized my AMD Phenom II X6 1075T Thuban 3.0GHz right out of the box. computer been running 24/7 for just over 2 months with no problem.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: love the o.c. genie. it went from 3.0 GHz to 3.49 GHz with the push of a button.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the Best out there

Pros: Sata 6 and usb 3.0. Build quality is outstanding! Overclocking is so easy on this board. 1090t stable at 4.5 gigz with a H70 took no time at all. It's almost like the motherboard is the best device in my system.

Cons: Board is narrow, so must be careful when plugging in the 24 pin. Other than that i can't think of anything.

Other Thoughts: Not sure why people have had problems with this board. I have purchased 20 to 30 MSI motherboards and this is the best I've seen. (I have not received any DOA MSI boards) If you got a 1090T or 1100T; This board was made for you.

2 out of 5 eggsJust say no to Hydra.

Pros: If you keep your cpu and ram and vga speeds at stock this board will work fine oh yeah only use one vga card.

Cons: - If you want to use Hydra they release a driver only once a month so < true SLI is better
- Minor over clocks to your cpu frequency results in BSOD's
- Enabling AHCI will prevent you from installing windows and if you enable it later more BSOD's even with the proper drivers and they are a mess.

Other Thoughts: It's just been a nightmare for me, I hope it's a defective module on the board in my case but if you want SLI get SLI not Hydra... You can disagree with me but don't say I didn't warn you.

Pros: nice lay out easy to set up looks good to
nice options
first Msi i have bought in awhile
very impressed and its blue and silver like colors match my ram and case

Cons: does price count??

Other Thoughts: i would buy another one. i will prolly never use the fusion setting, but i liked the usb 3 and the fact i could with out a doubt use my nivida vid cards sence most new amd boards seem either to say do not use nivida with amds new chip sets or dont say at all.. So i picked this one and Wow nice allthe way around

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Supports mix matching gpus kinda... OC genie improved my clock by .23.

Cons: Customer support for this board is terrible, 3 days since I emailed MSI and LucidLogix and no response yet. Couldn't use my ati 6970 + 5770 because drivers aren't compatible.

Other Thoughts: Wait for new drivers if you own a 580 or 6970

Pros: Combined this with a AMD Phenom X2 and it unlocked the 2 extra cores with one setting change (its in the manual don't complain unless you read it) Haven't tried the Hydra yet, as i dont have a extra GPU around but hope to try it soon.

Cons: Brown??? really they cant come up with a nicer color?
