3 out of 5 eggsGood when working, reliability issue?

Pros: The board was well laid out and the instructions were clear. Running an A8 with 8 Gb of RAM provided me with enough power to run engineering simulations and do research related work (I teach and do research in Electrical Engineering). Setting it up in the Fractal Design case was a breeze. It boot right up and setting up RAID didn't take much time at all. Kudos to the tech writer.

Cons: The board died after 4 months of constant use. And while both ventilation was good (I keep an eye on the temperature at all time via HWMonitor), and that it was plugged into a UPS with surge protection, it died.

I quickly tracked the issue to the motherboard and initiated the RMA process. The tech on the phone was nice and helpful, but obviously he told me nothing that I didn't already do. The bad part was that it took over 3 weeks to receive the replacement board as well. The new board I received is working ok. I am hoping that this one would last longer.

5 out of 5 eggsNice board

Pros: Everything works and overclocks an AMD 3870 easily to 3.4GHz. Kingston Hyper 1600 2X4 Ram. WE scores 7.4 7.5 6.7 6.7

Cons: None. Great board for the price

Other Thoughts: Would buy another

4 out of 5 eggsSome assembly required....

Pros: Works perfectly (now). BIOS options are well explained. MSI's "Live Update 5" easily corrected the original state the board was shipped in. Flashed BIOS to newest version without a a single hiccup.

Cons: Ships with no LAN or AMD's USB 3.0 drivers for WIN7. LAN driver is on the supplied disc, but the USB driver has to obtained from MSI's website. Not a big deal but it was mildly irritating piecing it together.

Other Thoughts: Ran Ubuntu from a flash drive while waiting for parts and the system ran flawlessly so I wasn't worried about returning it. I like Win7 for it's compatibility but seriously?

1 out of 5 eggsWould not would after BIOS update

Pros: Nice feature set. Reasonable price.

Cons: CPU and system fans always run high speed. BIOS setting to set to automatic speed would work temprarily but return to high speed after reboot or wake from sleep. Board died after flashing to latest BIOS. Clearing CMOS did not help. Returned for refund.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Required field...

Cons: It's a brick. RMA time. It would be nice if it at least exploded or caught on fire to announce it's failure. This didn't even twitch when I hit the power.

Other Thoughts: Second order in a row with a bad item. Last time my refurb video card died in 1 day. I didn't worry about it. It's refurb after all. But this is supposed to be new. Almost makes me want to go to walmart.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent board for entry level pc

Pros: Worked right out of the box. Built a basic entry level pc for a senior citizen who is not a gamer or enthusiast. Had a video card just in case but did not need it. Instead assigned 2GB out of 8GB installed memory to video.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Would also be good for a home theater pc. Would not use it for a hardcore gaming rig. AMD Lano APU's and Socket FM1 boards will be replaced by AMD Trinity APU's and Socket FM2 boards in the very near future.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks outside of the box

Pros: Work outside of the box, stable, and easy to OC.

Cons: SATA connectors are not right angled. Top rows of the connectors will be covered by discrete graphic card. In short, if you use a discrete graphic card you will only have three effective SATA connectors out of six.

Other Thoughts: MSI A75MA-P35
A8-3850
Antec Kuhler H2O 620 <-- fits on this board although the cooler doesn't list FM 1 socket.
Radeon HD 6670 <-- short graphic card but still covers SATA connectors because they are not right angled.

5 out of 5 eggsThank you MSI

Pros: great layout on the board. posted right away. no issues

Cons: wish it had an IDE connector, but not a big deal

Other Thoughts: purchased this board cheaper by getting the open box, works great, no problems at all. will definitely recommend MSI to my friends
