5 out of 5 eggsnice, love em

Pros: got 2 more of these mobo's thanks to lots of bozos that cant put thing together or read, whatever the case may be ha. like 8x+- some bux would have been nice to have gotten the fans. small price to pay for a great board.
Runs so cool, you just can't beat em.

Cons: open box on the last 2 units I got. No back plate, or fan. Merom requires bios update, and many of you complain of ram issues, yet I've not had one instance in 6 mainboards.

Other Thoughts: got an extra t2500 waiting for an open box. somebody needs to rma a few more, so I can get them cheaper.
As for Newegg they beat synex, ingram, and teckdata with a blind fold on, they have alway taken the best care of me.
Client for life, connective
hope that didn't break any of the rules! Thanks Newegg.com

5 out of 5 eggsgreat boards, have 15!

Pros: great board. mobile on DT means less power, less fans, less heat, less noise.

Cons: must read manual to install newer processor - alt-f2 to update bios to at least 8.03 before core2duo will work, otherwise it won't even post.

5 out of 5 eggsgood board, but need new BIOS

Pros: low heat board running mobile core 2 duo CPU. Has all the interfaces built-in, compact and low heat, low noise (since no need for large fan).

Cons: the power switch connector is labeled wrong on the user manual. BIOS code needs to be updated before install Vista.

Other Thoughts: We are waiting for NewEgg to refill its stock for this board, so that we can order more. We like the low power board that save a lot of energy!

1 out of 5 eggsn4l dh nightmare

Pros: * not radioactive.
* low power consumption - 0.0 watts

Cons: *Doesn't work
*Doesn't boot
*Doesn't post
*Doesn't beep

* DON'T BUY!

Other Thoughts: We tried running this board with a variety of Yonah CPUs and RAM combinations and power supplies. The only thing that happened was the green LED on the board lit up and the CPU fan spinned.

We RMAd this board for a replacement. Same problems. No go.

2 weeks lost, RMAd second n4l for refund, got an [competing socket 479 board], and it worked like a charm.

Newegg was wonderful in the RMA process.

2 out of 5 eggsDo not buy this by MB

Pros: Fairly easy to install components, simple layout (if a bit crouded).

Cons: This is the second one I have purchased! The first MB had tons of problems thinking that it was the MB I contacted ASUS and newegg CS, they were not able to fix the problems. Returned it and got another one. Still have the same problems! As per report, MB locks up and Bios is a pain! did not recignize my CPU I had to get another CPU to update. Limited slots, etc. I have purchsed other MB for much less and have been alot happier!

Other Thoughts: An all around Pain!! Paying $xxx for a MB, I expect it should work right out of the box! The consumer should not have to fix the manufactures flaws!

5 out of 5 eggsUpdated review

Pros: Great layout, runs cool, coxial and optical out, eSATA port, FSB adjustments; latest BIOS fixes a lot of (Vista) problems (0905 BETA); awesome fit with an Antec Fusion HTPC case. The Intel Quick Resume driver under MCE is awesome! It's instant on/off when using the remote, and your shared files remain available on the network even when "off!"

Cons: Stock HSF sucks (but I found a solution!), only two Intel SATA ports, if system crashes, it defaults to booting off the first Intel SATA port (which is a problem if you are otherwise booting off an IDE drive or one on the JMicron SATA controller); the JMicron SATA controller is known to have problems if you run the Intel ports in RAID (latest 0905 BETA BIOS should address this); your board may not boot if it has an older BIOS and you are using a Core 2 Duo (Merom) CPU as they are supported in later BIOSes (do not assume DOA!). Intel Viiv technology isn't yet mature or worthwhile. I have not yet been able to get 2-channel analog working (to the TV) and 5.1-channel (optical/coaxial) at the same time.

Other Thoughts: MAKE SURE you use JDEC-standard memory that is 5-5-5-15 at 1.8v and you will not have any problems (you can then manually adjust the timings and the default voltage in the BIOS); I have found that you can use a Thermalright HR-05 (with 70mm fan) or Zalman NC-U6 (with the stock Asus 60mm fan) to replace the stock cooler; just use the stock cooler's retension clip and you'll reduce your CPU temps by around 13C *AND* run a lot quieter,

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little and quiet board

Pros: Quiet, small, efficient, simple. Plug in a Core Duo and run. You won't be playing the hottest games...but that's not what this board is for. I'm running a Core2Duo T7400 (after bios upgrade). Very fast...for what it is. Like an upgradable Laptop for the Desktop.

Cons: Not many FSB speed options. Needs an add on graphics board for DVI and games. When was the last time you played F.E.A.R. on a Laptop? Stick this in your home theater and be happy.

Other Thoughts: It comes with it's own CPU cooler that is almost silent. Has upgrade headers for video out, serial, parallel, and game-MIDI on board-just need the adapters for the case slots. Seems the best option for mobile CPU.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent choice for the noise- or power-conscious buyer

Pros: Low power consumption, good set of built-in I/O options, runs Windows Vista

Cons: Like everyone else, I wish it had a standard heatsink mounting. No DVI output on-board.

Other Thoughts: I'm running this MB with a Core 2 Duo T7200 and 2GB of Kingston RAM. Upgrading the BIOS to support C2D was a cinch (hint: RTM). I also have not experienced any of the instability problems reported by other people trying to run 2GB of memory.

3 out of 5 eggsWarning regarding BIOS!

Pros: Fantastic port options both internal and external on a socket 479 motherboard. Great for an HTPC.

Cons: I just got my second motherboard because I thought that the first one was DOA. It turns out that the BIOS on the board is dated 4/4/06 and a new Core2Duo will not be recognized! The machine will not even boot far enough for you to flash a newer BIOS. I ended up borrowing a Core Solo processor from another machine to flash the BIOS and finally figure this out.

Other Thoughts: Make certain that you buy supported memory. There are many other reviews on this thread that detail what will happen if you do not. NewEgg does stock the recommended Kingston 1 Gig modules.

3 out of 5 eggsLock-ups, POST problems

Pros: Lots of features on the board, low cost.

Cons: Occasional reliability problems - Running with two sticks of OCZ dual channel 667 Gold and a CoreDuo T2400. Occasional lockups running with 0402 bios, upgrade to 0902 bios was a disaster, machine wouldn't POST reliably, took 10's of resets to get a stable POST so as to flash back to the 0402 bios. Memory compatibility? Beware.

Other Thoughts: Not sure which to trash, the board or the memory! Latest bios is worse, so Asus is headed in the wrong direction as far as I'm concerned. I manually set the voltage on the memory to 1.9, maybe that will help.
