You've picked out your processor, video card and memory, and now you need a powerful mobo to put it all together. Asus Premium Vista Edition socket AM2 board supports up 8GB of DDR2 memory. The variety of ports and expansion slots is impressive, but they are all in the spec section and chances are if you need it, this board has it, including 2 PCI-e x16 slots that will stay at full x16 speed in SLI mode.
Since this is an Ai Lifestyle board, you get some great extras. The Screen Duo is a secondary TFT screen that can display RSS feeds, information about your PC, Outlook email and contacts, play an image slideshow, and control iTunes or Windows Media Player. A wireless remote lets you launch applications and play media quickly. The Superbeam Array Microphone is extremely directional so it only picks up what's in its reception cone.
Intelligent overclocking makes it easy to get the most out of your system. The AI clock skew automatically skews signal timing, for a 10-15% memory boost. Precision Tweaker allows incremental voltage and frequency adjustments to the processor memory and bus. The AI NOS dynamically overclocks your system giving it the boost it needs, as it needs it. Asus continues to develop new solutions for your computing needs. Find yours!

Great Mobo
- Pros: This mobo is great. Easy to install and get working (on Vista). My first ASUS board, and so far I'm really happy.
- Cons: The ScreenDuo is not all that fantastic. It's kind of neat. Played with it for like 5 minutes. It doesn't support Vista's Gadgets, only the ones that came with it, so your a limited to what you can do. I does work though, I just don't really have a need for it. The other "Vista" features I relatively useless. I'm not using BitLocker, so I won't user the TPM module, and I have plenty of ram, so I don't need the on board flash.
- Other Thoughts: All in all a great motherboard, but I would probably save the money and go with the premium wireless edition instead of the Vista edition if I did it again.
ASUS motherboards are the best!
- Pros: It's an ASUS. A breeze to set up. Rock solid design. Easy BIOS management and updating.
Includes some nice system software, which allows you to monitor the cpu temperature and usage.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: I installed this in an Antec Performance One case with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor (5600+). I cannot get over how quiet the set up is.
I had an ASUS P4PE mb for 5 years, and never had a problem. I'm hoping this mb does the same.

- Other Thoughts: BE 5000,4 gig gskill,vista 64,2x 8800 gts
good mobo
- Pros: great motherboard had a few issues read cons great for OC'ing good layout its asus and there one of the best
- Cons: bios needed to be updated right away couldnt get vista 64 to start with 4gigs of ram had to use 2gigs then update bios then no issues after that
- Other Thoughts: if you are planning on useing this board with the zalman 9700 and large ram like the corsair xms2 be aware that its a little tight but all those things are huge so thats to be expected all great stuff though
Great
- Pros: First system build and went off without a hitch. I would reccomend this to a newbie like me. OC'd easily 4400x2 up to 2.8
- Cons: AMD and this board still leaves you wanting
- Other Thoughts: After spending $300 for this and a Zalman I have spent $3,300 today to get qx9750, 4g ocz ddr3 ram, 1200 w thermal psu, evga 790 ultra and an evga 9800gx2. First build was a trainer, hope i have the same luck with the new.
