5 out of 5 eggsStill Going

Pros: Had this board for a year now. No problems. hdmi works great. I'm writing this because I recently upgraded the processor from a 4000+ to a 6000+. I was leary about a jump that big and whether or not the board could support it. It can. A huge leap in performance. This was a media pc turned gaming machine with the addition of the new processor and a radeon 4870. No complaints. From the reviews, many of the others also built their systems around low powered processors. Just wanted to make mention for anyone considering an upgrade to amd's fastest, the board WILL support it. Also, when I had the 4000+ in place, I used the arctic cooling alpine 64 heatsink ($12 when i bought it, now $15?) and temps never went above 45c. Best money i ever spent for a cooler, kind of... Now with the 6000+, I'm using the thermalright ultra 120 extreme (6 heatpipes not 4). Yes, it is huge and pricey but temps have yet to reach 40c and its cooling passively. Doesnt get much quieter than that. A cooler that works

Cons: The Thermalright 120 extreme was not available @ new egg.

5 out of 5 eggsVery solid board

Pros: The raid capability is good, everything worked great. Ease of installation and driver install.

Cons: Onboard video is the only weak point.

Other Thoughts: Would highly recommend this board. Have built almost a dozen computers using this board with no troubles at all. On Vista, with the components I use, everything scores over a 5 (the lowest is the AMD x2 64 5000+ processor at 5.2) except the video. The video scores a 3.3, but hey, it is onboard video. I have built computers using both the Raid 1 and non-raid configuration with no problems.

3 out of 5 eggsOK board...

Pros: Nice layout, easy setup, solid job by ASUS as usual.

Cons: The LAN port doesn't work. Going to have to RMA and deal with having no computer for the month it will take to get a new one out here, that blows.

Other Thoughts: All-in-all this is a good board. Nothing mind-blowing but for the money this is a good little board, would make a great mobo for a HTPC setup.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good board

Pros: I built this for a client. I have been building systems for 20+ years. ASUS boards have always been good performers, easy to get up and running and have few problems. This board seems typical of ASUS board.
I Installed this with an AMD X2 4800 processor and 2GB of Corsair PC6400 RAM (dual channel). Easy install, no problems, good performance. Installed Vista. I would recommend this board to a friend.

Cons: Some of the motherboard ports could be laid out a little more organized, but seems to be typical layout for Micro-ATX boards.

Other Thoughts: ATI x1250 performance could be better, but typical for on-board video. Since it has a PCIex16 slot you can upgrade the video in the future if you wish.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME!!

Pros: This motherboard is the best! It has up to 8gb of ram and it can hold a 3.2ghz AMD Processor. my internet (which is comcast high speed internet) goes a GBPS (Gigabyte per second) with this board!

Cons: on the motherboard there are 2 hookups for front panel mic and speakers and they are on different sides of the motherboard but if you have them on one cord then it is impossible to reach them both

Other Thoughts: SPECS: m2a-vm hdmi motherboard, AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz, asus lightscribe DRW-2014L1T, 400gb seagate hdd, in win iw-z611

4 out of 5 eggsQuality Board

Pros: Nice board and design, and a good amount of features for the money. ASUS has always been my fallback company when newer brand boards fail.

Cons: A bit difficult to configure. If you plan on hooking it up to an HDTV through the HDMI port, expect to update drivers and BIOS, change Windows Audio settings, find HDMI Audio Drivers, etc.

Other Thoughts: Great board for my HTPC. Sound from HDMI port is still full of static, hoping this new driver will solve the problem, don't really want to buy more cables..

5 out of 5 eggsWill buy more

Pros: Great board for the price. We have many of these.

Cons: One had a bad battery that caused it to lock up. Replaced it and all is good. Two have issues with ram slots not reading 800 Mhz ram but 533 works okay... not enough to RMA it.

Other Thoughts: ASUS seems to have been trying to reach low end buyers/users in the last year or so and I hope they stop.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great product by a great company. I love Asus. This board has tons of great features, and especially HDMI for a decent price.

Cons: Took me a while to get my HDMI configured properly. Also, the HDMI is not on the motherboard, but an expasion card that you put where your video card goes. So, if you upgrade your graphics, you loose the ability to easily switch to HDMI...
