5 out of 5 eggssolid board

Pros: Very stable board. Running solid for the last couple months on my TV. LinuxMCE and Ubuntu Linux fully supports all features. No NIC problems that are so common with embedded gigabit chipsets. NVidia 7000 series is well supported and performs admirably under Linux and in media viewing applications.

Cons: Wish it had PCI-X 2.0 for the future upgrades, this will probably be the reason this board is upgraded/replaced sometime in the future.

Other Thoughts: I would say that the 7000 series card is a little underpowered for many of the games coming on the market, however this hasn't effected it's performance in my application.

5 out of 5 eggsGood low cost board

Pros: I purchased 10 of these boards shortly after they were released by Asus. I have had no problem with any of them. The lan port works fine at 1g. These are used in a business and they would let me know right away if they were having any problems.

Cons: First couple of bios were a little shakey but the problems have been fixed.

Other Thoughts: 2GB memory. Athlon 64 X2 5000+. SATA2 harddrive. Using onboard video.

3 out of 5 eggsHmmmmm......

Pros: It's a motherboard with a sweet onboard video chip for the price?

Cons: The LAN does not work and I had to restart the system several times before I could get the motherboard to boot.

Other Thoughts: Well it is nice when you can find a m-ATX mobo for a reasonable price and it has a pretty nice onboard video chipset, however I expect more from a company as reputable as ASUS. These boards are still being manufactured and everyone is still buying them and the problem still remains. I would hope that they would fix the problem by now but oh wells.

4 out of 5 eggsAll Around Good Middle of The Road

Pros: O board gigabit, DVI, 4 mem slots, and on board audio, with the asus name

Cons: One board quit playing mpegs and avi files, have no clue why, but other than that no issues.

Other Thoughts: Ok, so I now own three of these boards, two with AMD 5000+X2's and one with a 5200. I use the on board audio with all machines, and On board video on one. One machine runs the video surveillance system at my office, one a HD Video wall, and the other is just an all around office PC. Over all great board, I am planning on building my HTPC on this board

2 out of 5 eggs6400+ AMD2 incompatability issue

Pros: Nice fit in case, along with nice for fitting BFG Nvidia 8800 GTS graphics card and Thermal take duorb CPU fan.

Cons: I worked on my machine for a good 4 months untill i found out what was wrong with it, this motherboard says it supports all AMD2 dualcore processors but it is WRONG!! It does NOT support a 6400+ AMD2 Dual core processor and they have NOOO updates to support it!!

Other Thoughts: Do NOT buy this product if you are trying to use a 6400+ AMD2 Dual core processor with it because it will have 32394827 issues!!! No one will refund your money and you are stuck with a mobo that doesnt work with your processor!!

1 out of 5 eggsNetwork Issues

Pros: This is a very compact mother board, and has a lot of features. It would be great if the Lan worked

Cons: There Lan Issues. Lan comes up, works for a few minutes, then quits. There is a lot of discussion about this on the Asus web site. I have tried all the updates and fixes, and none work.

Other Thoughts: Maybe Asus will fix this issue, but for now beware! Go look at the ASUS web site and read the LAN problems!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine with MythTV

Pros: Very low power consumption (under 40 watts) at idle. Can display 1080i just fine (75% CPU utilization with 3800+ and Nvidia driver).

Cons: TV image slightly larger than actual screen (so edges of image may be cut off). I believe this is due to the Nvidia driver and/or TV (JVC 47), not the video hardware. Unfortunately, the Nvidia driver is required when using interlaced display ("nv" driver doesn't do interlacing, and ignores directives to ignore EDNS info from TV).

5 out of 5 eggsvery stable

Pros: i RMA'ed my first board which had some issues. (i think the chipset cooler had poor contact with the northbridge -- causing heat issues) the replacement has been a joy. no problems whatsoever to speak of. in fact, it's the most stable motherboard i've ever used. i use it as a media center and it goes into and out of S3 standby at least once a day without any problems. i've never had a board that can stay this stable under those conditions.

Cons: Q-fan does not work with 3 pin CPU fans. it only works with 4 pin fans with PWM. this is now true of all Asus boards. the stock AMD cooler is PWM so if that's what you plan to use, you're fine. otherwise, it's a little harder to find PWM after market fans than the standard 3 pin ones. but that will change.

Other Thoughts: unless you need HDMI, this is probably the best choice for an HTPC just because of its stability. works well with a 45watt dual core processor and A-data DDR2-800 RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks! just works...

Pros: Compatibility, this board has been around a bit, as has the NVidia 7050 chip. It is very straight forward and compatible with LinuxMCE. Works out of the box.

Cons: Tight fitting as with all Micro ATX board.

Other Thoughts: Does what it's supposed too, reliably. Has been running a week, very solid performer. Not exactly what you'd want for modern gaming, but great HTPC build.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Lan Problems Here

Pros: Love the board, does everything I need it to. Good deal for the price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have never had an issue with the onboard LAN on this board, I don't know why you are experiencing these issues. Nothing a 5$ nic card can't fix.
