Unsatisfied
- Pros: Works as expected except as noted below.
- Cons: RAM won't run at full speed, sound it horrible, USB header underpowered, horrible SATA port placement.
- Other Thoughts: I have owned this motherboard for over a year and I am extremely unsatisfied. I always buy quality brand boards, but this one just fell short.
I have never been able to get my RAM to run at full speed. I used some Kingston from the supported list but it didn't run at full speed either so I took it back and kept the Corsair RAM I have. I finally gave up on that.
The sound riser sounds pops so I replaced it with a Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS. It also pops and sounds bad. It worked in my other board and so did my Bose speakers.
One of the USB headers is underpowered or something. I cannot run a thumb drive from the case slot so I had to run a cable from the back. Completely defeats the purpose of having a USB port on the case.
It took me 20 minutes and I had to unplug a hard drive to access the SATA ports on the board. They are side mounts in a ridiculous location. I was cussing up a storm trying to install my Blu-ray drive. That was the final straw so I am writing this

- Pros: Over a Year and working great, never had any problems!
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: i custom built my whole computer and bought everything including my monitor from newegg! None of my components purchased to build it have every had a problem and it is now a year later. NEWEGG ROCKS!
Year after review
- Pros: Has been a great board, no trouble with ram timings, or anything else for that matter. Been running a pretty power hungry setup for over a year now and no failures like some people.
- Cons: The only con I have is aisuite will not work after installing a new bios, wish I never had now. I had no real reason to, but I figured I would and now (even after reverting and trying every new bios since then) aisuite just will not work correctly. Annoying because I would like to take advantage of the power saving features.
- Other Thoughts: Been pushing a 9800GX2, 4GB ddr2 pc2-6400 ram, 3 HDDs(640GB, 250GB, 60GB), Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0 ghz for over a year and still hasn't failed , even with daily gaming sessions (4-5 hours daily) in fairly graphical intensive games(cod5, css, l4d, tf2, crysis) and plenty of single player games in between. Highly recommend this board.
