Pros: EVERYTHING. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. IN AND FOR EVERYTHING I DO WITH IT I AM EXCEPTIONALLY HAPPY

Cons: I see some negative reviewers and i see that asus is one of the biggest and the best out there this is my best build so far. so remember for every few thousand built there will always be some bad ones.

Other Thoughts: Love it and love newegg for making it all possible.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Motherboard

Pros: I first had hard drive IDE problems with this board and then I flashed the bios. It somehow fixed all my problems and runs stable now. Bought this to replace my Intel 975XBX2, that board killed my ram and burned out its own dimm slots. If anyone is watercooling it comes with 1/4" to 7/16" conversion tubes for the block chipset. I have my system watercooled E6600, 4GB Super Talent D9GMH, Apogee GTX, VGA MCR-60, MCP-655 Pump, Swiftech Micro-Res, Black Ice GTX 480, HIS X1950XTX, Lian Li Full Tower Case

Cons: Don't install AI software from ASUS. Only install the LAN drivers and audio drivers. AI messes up my keyboard in Windows Vista 32-64 Bit. After installing AI it makes my USB keyboard not respond anymore. After I uninstalled AI, my keyboard works again.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this board if you don't know how to tweak it. It has so many commands in the bios for overlocking that if you have no knowlege of OC'ing you're better off not buying it.

4 out of 5 eggsNew and Shinny.

Pros: Latest x39 chip support PCIe 2 crossfire(good thing Intel still support the underdog). Very overclockable.

Cons: Expensive. Current Vid card cannot max out the bandwidth of older PCIe 1.1 why care about 2? Does not support SLI.

Other Thoughts: Good board for crossfire PCIe 2 junky. IF you have a p35 board and don't plan to crossfire anytime soon then stay that way. Is 300$ upgrade worth the 5-10% performance? It's your call, but my call is a little late.

2 out of 5 eggsNightmarish experience!

Pros: Asus name.... whatever that's worth these days. Neat features make installing it relatively easy.

Cons: Expensive. Has the feeling of a rushed product. This board was unstable at stock settings. Go to the Asus forum to see the problems people are having with DRAM errors with this board. A recent BIOS (701) was pulled because it made the board more unstable. CPU and Mobo temperatures varied greatly between depending on the BIOS installed. Voltages varied between the ASUS desktop software and the BIOS. I tested the board with 4 different DRAMS and all failed memtest at every setting imaginable. Bought another X38 board and no problems.

Other Thoughts: A board that costs nearly $300 should be stable. I was a huge ASUS fan and still love their notebooks, but this will most likely be the last motherboard I buy from them in a while.

4 out of 5 eggsAWESOME OC'er

Pros: Amazing OC, I've got my Q6600 G0 at 3.3GHZ on 1.3vcore, will surely go up to 3.6+. Easy installation, tons of heatsinks, waterblock is very useful, comes with a VERY good professional PCIeX1 sound card, Support for upcoming 1600MHZ chips

Cons: The thermal 'compound' (more like glue) on the chipset is terrible and raises temps on northbridge by 10*. No SLI, only crossfire.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if you could make the little LCD screen show the temperatures and clocks, but it's not a con because it was not a stated feature.

This board would have been 5/5 if they'd used Arctic Silver or something better than the glue they used on the North Bridge.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Board !!

Pros: This board is Awesome.. I overclock this board with ease and the bios is very user friendly. Supports (2)@16x PCI-e lanes, roomy, comes with an 8ch audio card. The board is solid, with plenty of fan connectors. Clear CMOS switch on the rear I/O panel, good idea....No problems...

Cons: None yet....

Other Thoughts: Lil expensive for my taste on motherboards, but it will come down in price eventually. If you are looking for a good board to overclock with, this one is nice...

5 out of 5 eggsIt's NEW on Market, and GREAT!

Pros: It has an EXTREMELY mature BIOS for a motherboard this new. EVERYTHING WORKS. THIS is NOT supposed to happen on a new board! It has The X38 Chipset on THIS board, is a WINNER! I had NO issues loading up ANY O/S, I tried XP 64, Vista 64, and BSDI. I had to write some drivers for BSDI, but, that'not abnormal.

Cons: PRICE???? But, quite ofter, especially with Asus, and Newegg, you get what you pay for.!

Other Thoughts: BUT IT, I KNOW IT"S A LOT of MONEY. But, again, you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. And, HERE, you get a board with a new chipset, where EVERYTHING works, RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE. I'm still using the 0401 Initial release BIOS. WHY CHANGE? G0 Guad Core, and 4 gig of Super Talent Memory. Booted right up, loaded right up. Working like a BIG DOG! THANX Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great board. LED's let me know everything is getting the power it needs, and helps light up the case a little. Really easy to OC as well, just choose which OC you want from the options listed in BIOS. Well thought out as far as slots and heatsink placement, directions are easy to follow, even if you've never assembled a computer before.

Cons: An X38 board that doesn't support DDR3, but I knew that when I bought it.
LCD post only shows the time in military time. (ie, 13:00, etc.)

Other Thoughts: Seems to be a solid board. Hooked it up with no problems, and it immediately detected everything I had hooked up to it.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Complaints Here

Pros: Just having little features like the watercooling block, 300w PCIe slot, the onboard power/reset, the back panel CMOS clear, the POST display, make this nice. The included software bundle doesn't actually suck (Stalker, 3dmark06). More stable power delivery than my P5WDG2. Overclocks like a demon.

Cons: The onboard power switch doesn't work all that reliably anymore. Didn't really need the PCI audio.

Other Thoughts: X38 can't be beat I think. It's a fast and solid chipset with a lot of future proofed options. Take a heavy look at the Maximus Extreme with DDR3 though. I think DDR2 may be dead now.
