5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: This is a great board. It is laid out well, installation was a breeze, and the computer booted up on the first try. Shipped with the latest (1013) BIOS, and had no problems with my Q6700 and 4GB of OCZ RAM. The Zalman 9500 HSF fit on it perfectly and looks great too. The Q-connector made wiring to the case a cinch. The Marvell LAN port is very fast, and the latest drivers were on the CD. I'm running VISTA 64 and so far everything is running perfectly.

Cons: A large vid card like the 8800 GTX or newer from NVidia will partially block two of the SATA connectors. Make sure to buy cables with at least one right-angle plug on them.

Other Thoughts: Once again, Asus saved my bacon. This is the second faulty mobo of other brands that I have replaced with Asus, and they have never let me down. When will I ever learn?

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Built a q6600 system with this board and extremely pleased. Overclocks like a dream. Running at 3.2GHz rock solid for several months now.

Cons: Not a con for me since I don't need it but don't forget that intel doesn't support sli.

Other Thoughts: Been an asus fan for years and this is another fine product.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Good chipset with very fast USB2, good layout, AI Nap, Vista native driver support, fast boot time, typical for ASUS OC options, Supported every memory stick I trew in it(Gskill, A-DATA, Kingston..) Rock stable in x64 Vista: Keep it in sleep mode with MC recordings for weeks without reboot. ALL SATA are hot-swappable (although sometimes it takes looking for hardware changes to detect drive promtly in Vista)

Cons: None.
Either I'm lucky this time or ASUS fixed ISSUE with north bridge power failure that I had twice with P5B-deluxe

Other Thoughts: I wasted $230 on P5B deluxe which kept failing north bridge and after 2nd RMA I bought this one that has the same features minus remote control. P5K-E is perfect with 65Wt Core 2 duo. A-DATA RAM & ATI HD2600. I don't overclock - like it cool & silent.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Awesome mobo! Bought this by mistake actually... Its ATX. then decided later to go a diff route but, i got this instead anyways, i love it and its the best mobo ive had so far! Boots quick. Has everything ill ever need :).

Cons: Sticking a 9800 GTX vid card on this blocks 4 sata ports! careful! buy flat end sata cables if you use a new nvidia card! xD

Other Thoughts: My comp rocks! Newly built, Asus P5K-E, Intel Duo Core 8400, 2 gigs ram, Nvidia 9800 GTX And all the other good stuff! only 900 bucks! (Im awesome!) :P.

1 out of 5 eggsDecent board when it works, poor customer service

Pros: It's a nice motherboard, and it has all of the standard features of other motherboards of it's class. When it works, it works well

Cons: Asus has poor customer support. I used to be a big abit fan but with the latest computer upgrade, a friend convinced me to try asus because he was a big fan of it. The motherboard worked perfectly for a few weeks then randomly started blue-screening on me. I started swapping out other parts and troubleshooting before determining it was the motherboard. During this, i also bought 2 more sticks of RAM for the board so i could do Dual channel in it but the system wouldn't post with any memory in the B Slots. Obviously a motherboard issue, but i spent the next month playing "templated email replies" with asus support before they finally agreed to RMA the board. The only caviat is that they want me to ship the board to them (on my own dime) so they can troubleshoot it and then send it back (or send a replacement if warranted). I dont have the time to have my main system down for weeks while some tech in another (unnamed) country plays with it. Thanks, i'll buy different board

Other Thoughts: When it wasn't bluescreening, the board was nice. I like some of the features on the system. The SATA connections and the RAM seem poorly placed but other then that, it was a nice board. Just dont expect much support if it doesn't work out of the box.

5 out of 5 eggsP5K-E

Pros: Very easy build. Came with Bios 0906 runs E8400 withou bios update. No problems thus far. All front panel connectors on coolmaster centurion T05 case were easy to install. Not much else to say, it works just fine. I find the Q connector great and it makes connecting front indicators a snap.

Cons: Could have shipped with more sata connectors.

Other Thoughts: None

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome overclocker

Pros: Amazing overclocker, very easy to set up. Took me 30 seconds of work in the BIOS to OC my Q6600 to 3 GHZ. E-SATA.

Cons: Northbridge runs a little hot, second PCI-E slot only runs at X4. Only 1 gigabit LAN port.

Other Thoughts: The pros of this motherboard easily outweigh the cons.

1 out of 5 eggsASUS's Downhill Slide

Pros: Has the ASUS name on the box and all the features I wanted on the motherboard.

Cons: First motherboard was DOA, and NEWEGG replaced it imediately with an RMA. The replacement motherboard lasted 97 days before it refused to POST. I used to equate the ASUS name with quality; that opinion is falling fast.

Other Thoughts: This system was a replacement for an ASUS motherboard that failed after 11 months. I thought my bad luck with ASUS was over with one bad motherboard in 18 years of doing this; little did I realize it had only begun. I am staying away from ASUS until they get their quality back to its previous level.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat board, abyssmal drivers

Pros: Generally excellent design on this board. Feels solid, and well made. Have 8gb ram, quad core processor, and 8800gt board, all works as you would expect, EXCELLENT. Thanks for putting 2 eSata ports! Well worth the money. Overall VERY FAST and thus far, stable board.

Cons: Abyssmal drivers. Using the Asus InstALL application too almost as long to install 4 devices as the installation of the OS did. It certainly took less time to copy an 8gb folder from one drive to another. 1-2 SATA ports COULD be blocked by a massive video card, but I have an ASUS 8800GT card and I have access to all 6 ports.

Other Thoughts: Install the drivers one at at time manually. Dont wast your time with the InstALL utility.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Price, Good Product

Pros: Solid board. No problems since the first boot-up. Good enough sound for onboard. I have no honest complaints so far. Don't think this board will fail on you, only a *few* others recieved faulty boards. This is perfect to a t thus far.

Cons: Only thing that could be consider a problem so far is that my heatsink for the cpu has such a low rpm that the mobo can't register it. No biggy. Told it to ignore the fan speed ^_^
Anyone complaining about space because of their video card or case size.. uh.. check dimensions before you buy ANY computer parts for a new build. Otherwise it's your fault, not the hardware's.

Other Thoughts: Great board so far. No problems, everything pieced together. Some placements are a little iffy, but anyone buying should verify sizes of all parts, etc, and make sure they have sufficient cables. Otherwise, again, your own fault. I was able to get everything in, including an enormous Zalman lga 775 heatsink/fan. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a solid mobo.
