Super Happy!!
- Pros: Excellent!! Makes for a wonderful htpc. easy to setup, network fast. also, audio does come through the HDMI. Great looking video and super sound!!
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: using 3000 series xeon, 4 gb ram, 500mb mirror. 64-bit Vista Ultimate, sp1., Samsung 50" plasma.
Decent bang for the buck!
- Pros: Used for conference room PC with overhead projector. SPDIF coax output, tons of connectors, adapters and pre-labelled front panel connectors. Good documentation too. Installed into theater pc case with a Quadro FX1700 work-station video card. Runs smartly with WinXP Pro and all sorts of Windows Enterprise networking overhead. The Giga-bit LAN performs very well and handles multiple downloads with ease. So far it has exceeded my expectations with only a 2.8GHz Daul-Core uP.
- Cons: Basic sound set-up tools offer limited digital audio tuning, especially on 7.1 theater systems.
- Other Thoughts: Adequate for the office, but slightly under-whelming for the ultimate home theater pc.
Good board, horrible tech support
- Pros: Good board that has lots of features and high configurability. Runs well in my mini-ATX case and runs cooler than other boards.
- Cons: Tech support is horrible. I've had a problem since I got the board where it thinks there is a new chipset on every boot (requiring me to hit F2). Emailed two times with no response, posted in their forum - where I got more support from other users than Asus but still no resolution.
