Decent Board
- Pros: Fine board, lots of SATA ports and an IDE port for an old HD or CD drive.
- Cons: Probably expected in this price range, but no RAID support and only one PCIe 16x (no crossfire).
- Other Thoughts: DDR1200 as shown by newegg is wrong. Only supports up to DDR1066.
Does a lot
- Pros: I have used about 50 to 60 of these MOBOs as of date. Works well, for what I use them for. My paticular applications will stress any MOBO and VGA cards to its limits. These units are in operation 24/7, year in and out. They seem to hold up fine, have not burned out one yet. I think I may have returned one with a bad PCI slot. Was satified with the RMA process.
- Cons: The cable for the DVD could be position better, it just makes it to the lower slot in Mid tower, could use a longer cable. Drivers, not totally sure if all the bugs are worked out, but I use video capture cards, that pipeline insane amout data through the sys and not sure if that was what they had in mind when they built it. You must go to Asus to doundload the unknown PCI device, which is the audio program. Most of the stuff is layed out ok on the board. Audio hookup is a little tight, no big deal.
- Other Thoughts: I'll use another 50 soon.
folllow up to 10/27 review
- Pros: Follow up to first time build from 10/27. System still running smooth and no problems whatsoever. highly recomended and very pleased.
- Cons: none
