buggy as hell
- Pros: Looks cool. Save some money not having to buy the water block for the chipset
- Cons: Been trying to get this thing to be stable so I can play a game on it. Thought it was over heating, so I spent the $$ for water cooling it. Even with a Koolance three 120mm radiator and 3/8 water cooling it crashes all the time. The south chip set that is hooked by a heat pipe hits over 100F in a 70F case.
I can't get any memory to be "Plug and Play" with it, I have to try to toon it threw bios just to get it o boot.
I have instaled Windows xp64, and windows xp32 multiple times incase it was a bad install.
I constantly get my duel SLi Nvidia cards trowing an error that they are not getting enough power. I am using TWO 550W power supplies with power lines dedicated just to them.
I tried a new Creative sound card to see if the card that came with it was the problem, but it still crashes.
I thought about trying new power supplys and video cards but how much $$ am I going to throw after this? Reading these other reviews, I think i found my problem.
- Other Thoughts: I have other ASUS board, and so have my friends. The conclusion we have come to is this. They make great mid range boards. Their high end boards you just need to avoid like the plague.

Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer, We apologize for the issues that you are experiencing. For the error about not getting enough power, that may actually be the case since you are running a water cooling system as well as 2 video cards in SLI mode. Please contact us at 510 739 3777 and reference case number NE576506 so that we may get more details about your configuration and assist you in solving the issues. Best Regards, ASUS Support Team
Northbridge leaks
- Pros: This mobo was great when i first got it and it never gave me any problems. Was paired with Q9650, 2 GTX 285 SLi, 4gb Ballisix Tracer DDR3
- Cons: Well about 2 months ago the northbride leaked while i wasnt home (from what i hear these fusion blocks do that) and it got all over 1 of my GTX 285's and into the first pci-e slot, now either the GTX 285 doesnt work or the pci-e slot doesnt work, haven't figured it out yet cause i was so mad i diddnt want anything to do with it
- Other Thoughts: Nice mobo just dont use the fusion water block
Re-eval for piece of pooh
- Pros: Hey, working perfectly now. It was one of my corsair memory sticks that messed things up. RMA'd the pair and replaced. All is running perfectly so far. Running 8 gigs with two Quadro FX 4500's in SLI, 3ware RAID 6 with external array of 8, 320 drives and quad core.
- Cons: none now
