Asus has long had a notable reputation within the overclocking community and their P6T Deluxe motherboard builds on that tradition. Based on Intel's X58 Express and ICH10R chipsets, this ATX board is ready to host the newest LGA1366 Core i7 processors for ultimate powerful performance.

Up to 12GB of DDR3 1333 RAM can be installed with triple channel mode for increased performance. Get even more performance – up to 1600Mhz – through overclocking. Three (count 'em: three!) PCI-Express 2.0 x16 cards can be mounted for cutting-edge graphic power with support for either NVIDIA SLI or ATI CrossFireX. 100% all high-quality conductive polymer capacitors give longer life and higher energy efficiency by supplying power to vital components independently.

Get eight channels of HD sound from the ADI AD2000B audio chipset for pure, clear audio. Connect up to six SATA drives at 3Gb/s for high-speed data transfers as well as the option for multiple RAID configurations. Integrated dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN allows bottleneck-free connections to other network devices at broadband speeds and eight USB 2.0 ports allows for nearly unlimited possibilities in connecting peripheral devices.

  • newegg Q-Connector The Asus Q-Connector allows single-step connection and disconnection of chassis front panel cables with one complete module. This unique adapter ensures quick and accurate connections without the trouble of plugging cables in separately.
  • newegg S/PDIF Out Featuring coaxial and optical S/PDIF-out (SONY-PHILIPS Digital Interface) jack for digital audio output, the Asus P6T Deluxe motherboard provides convenient connectivity to external home theater audio systems while keeping the best signal quality without converting to the analog format.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing investment

Pros: I purchased this board 4 years ago. It has seen new memory, new GFX cards, and many new SSD / HDD. All-in-all one of the easiest, and stable boards to run 24/7 fully overclocked at 4Ghz without a blip. Truely amazing piece of hardware.

Cons: WISHHHHHHHHHH it had SATA III and PCIe 3.0

3 out of 5 eggsAsus doesn't care

Pros: Great board. Awesome features when I first purchased it three years ago.

Cons: Board has recently failed apparently. When coming out of sleep mode, now the board never works. Video never shows up and after having to powercycle the machine, the CMOS loses all settings. After changing the CMOS battery twice, then doing some googling, I find that the board has a known issue. I contacted Asus support, and was told that exceptions are not made and even though I am only a few months outside of warranty, I have to pay to fix this issue. I was quoted 120 dollars. Outrageous considering age of board and known issue.

Other Thoughts: I am very angry with the support I received with Asus and this may be the last board I buy from them.

1 out of 5 eggsAsus?

Pros: Its a motherboard
It works
Decent over clocking board
Decent reviews

Cons: I warn any one considering purchasing an Asus board to stop and think about it. If you have any problems with your board you might as well buy a new one. Asus is known for having customer service. I can give you my acc; I have owned my Asus p6t for nearly 2 years and I recently RMA'd it. I got it back and all the problems still persisted so I was told it would be replaced. I was also told that it is against warranty for Asus to replace my board with another one of equal value and then had to wait 2 months for another P6T... I tired of waiting and looked for something I could do, I found a section in the warranty that clearly states that they do in fact replace mother boards with products of equal quality... so after 2 months of constant calls, lies, and deceit, I finally told Asus that I had written a report to the better business bureau and was in fact going to take legal action. Only then did I get something done, I was told that mother board was suddenly on hold for me.

Other Thoughts: Asus has along way to go in order to catch up to the costumer service of other companies. I would ask that any one who wants a mother board purchase form another company and not support Asus.
It has been 2 and a half months and I am just getting my mother board sent to me, after hundreds of calls, reporting to the BBB and then threatening legal action. They still ahve never responded to me about the warranty which clearly states they they do replace mother boards. For any one having the same problem of finding a replacement you can find the warranty part on this website http://service.asus.com/Warranty.aspx under the mother board section within the title of Limitations of Liability. Which clearly states that they do replace motherboards with other products of equal or greater value and even go so far as to say that it is in leui of all other warranties expressed or implied.
Unfortunately I must give atleast 1 egg. Still 1 too much.

5 out of 5 eggs12GB 1600 RAM no prob!

Pros: I installed 12GB (6x2GB) of OCZ Platinum 1600mhz RAM with no problem. Booted up flawlessly, Vista recognizes it and so does CPUZ. Mind you, i'm running the RAM at 1600mhz, 9-9-9-24 timings and 1.5v as is what the bios set automatically when I chose the 1600mhz profile in AI tweaker and I have not yet played around with this.

Cons: Manual for this board (V1) states you can only install one 1600 dimm per channel, limiting you to 6GB max of 1600...incorrect.

Other Thoughts: I have a very early version of this board and have had no problems with it yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MotherBoard

Pros: I have had no major problems with this motherboard. I have had it since the i7 has come out and it has been rock solid. I have even managed to get my i7 to 4.1 Ghz on it. SLI and Crossfire on one board is also really nice.

Cons: The way the pci-e slots is set up is a little funky but I knew that going in.

2 out of 5 eggsIt was pretty awesome

Pros: This motherboard was awesome and packed full of features. Sweet overclockablity, on board power button (which I ended up using a whole lot), asus express gate... loved it

Cons: And then it stopped working. One day while idling it turned off. I could get it to turn on after that, but it would surge on and off about 6 or 7 times before turning on, and then the USB ports stopped working... no more mouse for me. Went through hours of troubleshooting before evidence showed that it was the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I'm a little disappointed in Asus, they have been falling off in the past few years. I see that there is a V2 of this board now which is probably what i'm going to get fro my RMA. Not looking forward to havin no computer while I wait for the RMA shipping. If they have any care for their customers, they will cross-ship me a new one.

5 out of 5 eggsAsus P6T Deluxe

Pros: Great motherboard, no problems at all with the rest of the parts, 100% compatibility with DDR3 1600MHz and there is option even to 2000Mhz in the BIOS.

Cons: Price $$$$ is to high.

Other Thoughts: In my opinion this is one of the best MOBO's on the market.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor support

Pros: When it worked it ran great, accepted the 6 gigs of Ram very well.

Cons: Intermitant issues from the get go. When I first built the computer in Jan 09 it had an issue where once in a while it would not power on compleetly. When this happened the fans would come on, but nothing on the screen, and no beeps. I didn't know what was causing this. Eventually I got access to a comparable computer to troubleshoot and see what was bad. Turned out to be the MB and in late feb I initiated an RMA it took them a few days to get back and when ASUS responded, they said send it to out California center. I mailed it 9 march, it was signed for 13 March. They have not responded to any of my quaestions since. I don't know if it's being repaired or junked or what. in the mean time I am down 1 very new, expensive, and currently useless computer.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat board when it works!

Pros: Overclocks with ease! Stable once windows is up and running.

Cons: Have numerous cold boot issues. If the computer is shut off for an extended period of time it will fail to boot and give me a no VGA detected error. This happens around 1/4 power cycles. After the issue occurs I have to reset the CMOS to get her to post normally and load into windows, otherwise it keeps giving me a no VGA error.

I also can't use S3 sleep at all. If the computer is in standby for any period longer than a few minutes it will no wake. No video at all is posted.

I know its no the card as everything works fine once I am in windows. I can keep her running for weeks without issues. However I would like to power her down during the day to save power. If these errors were addressed it would be a perfect board.

Asus provided no trouble shooting, just told me to RMA. Wish they had an advanced replacement program as I really can't be without a computer for two weeks.

5 out of 5 eggsGlad I got one before V2

Pros: I love this board. It is worth every dime. Works great for a 3D Viz/CAD setup for those that don't want to buy the expensive/better Xeons.

Cons: Other than no 3-way SLI, I can't fault it. I don't game, so that isn't a problem.

Other Thoughts: I am disappointed in ASUS. They cancel this board, rip out SAS capability, and the don't add anything to the design. I guess the few dollars it cost to add a SAS controller (which in this case is pretty good) was too much for a $300 board.

I buy ASUS exclusively for home and work builds. I've only ever used ASUS in the decade+ of my geekdom. This is the first time I feel cheated by ASUS. I'm glad I got V1 before the quit making them, but I now have to go buy a decent SAS controller add-in card for the HPC builds at work.

On that note, if you can afford a ASUS workstation board (dual 1366 Xeons), go for it. I'm kicking myself for not waiting. I want some dual Xeon E5550 action.
