Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: I have purchased 2 of these boards from the egg now and I am very happy with them. They have a great layout, advanced BIOS options and features and are well rounded boards with HDMI, DVI and VGA out, high def audio etc
Cons: DO NOT INSTALL ASUS UTILITIES LIKE TURBO V, etc. Use CPUID, HWMonitor, and OCCT - or even PCWizard for advanced information and use the BIOS if you plan on any light overclocking - OC options are very limmited and I do not recommend any major OCing at all on this ASUS, for OCing use more expensive board, try for a board without integrated graphics...
Other Thoughts: ASUS makes the best boards hands down, well prices, feature rich and high quality for the price point. Above average tech support, reliability and price per performance ratios that set them ahead.

Pros: This is a great light little board, the price if fair, and ASUS has very good easy tech support if anything should happen.
Cons: You need to update the BIOS as soon as you have the operating system stable. Also, make sure to only run the board with 1 stick of ram until you update the BIOS, and make sure there are no other programs in the backround.
Other Thoughts: Once the BIOS are updated, you have yourself a full feature Intel Socket 775 motherboard made by one of the best - ASUS.

Unfortunately, another DOA

Pros: This is an ASUS board with all of the Bells and whistles. It comes with a very good manual, and a very good reputation from what I believed to be one of the best manufacturers out there (I've had many of their boards dating back to the mid-nineties). I wanted a new computer for the release of Win7 (probably my last new one -- I'm getting old).
Cons: Well, like so many others here, mine simple did not work. It went to the POST screens and the BIOS screens all worked well, but, while the BIOS says it recognizes the drives, the board still said no drive present. I tried to boot it up with a SATA DVD drive and the original Windows disks, but it got about half-way through and locked. I moved the connectors to the SATA 3 position, nothing. I tried other SATA cables, nothing. I went back to the little Gigabyte board I had been using, and everything was perfect. Darn.
Other Thoughts: I bought this board because I've had so many ASUS products that were perfect that I thought it was a good bet, even though so many negative results are posted here. My trust in ASUS appears to have been misplaced.
Fortunately, my trust in NEWEGG has not been misplaced and the RMA was no issue at all. I don't know what to buy now -- the little Gigabyte board is not mine. Perhaps I'll buy its twin. Its crude compared to the ASUS, but, sure works
We apologize for this inconvenience. If you still have the board, we would like to assist you in getting a working replacement. Please contact us at aps_support@asus.com and reference case# 32 for assistance.
