2 out of 5 eggsWarrantySucks

Pros: Good board, while it lasted.

Cons: Right channel audio failed after 7 months. Obtained RMA and returned to Asus for repair, cost me $10 for shipping. Board was returned still no riht channel and no explanation of why it was not working. Email supports only suggestion was to call for and talk to tech support. Already cost me $10 and I am not going to make a toll call just to wait on hold for 30 minutes.
Good board, terrible support.

Other Thoughts: This will be the last of many Asus PC's I put together. Next one will be a Zotac.

4 out of 5 eggsGood board

Pros: I used this board as part of a low profile home office desktop setup for a client. It's very cleanly laid out, with a healthy number of options and support for the core requirements.
If you are building a low profile replacement desktop for your parents or other basic users, this is a good purchase.

Cons: The fan IS a problem. You can monitor the fan's speed in the bios but it doesn't seem to let you change it. I would highly recommend getting a mini fan controller to go along with this.. item # N82E16835118217 would be a good idea.

It did it's job nicely, though I may have opted for something a bit more powerful in hindsight, this guy will never see much more than online flash gaming.. but it doesn't seem to be quite as snappy as it should be.

Other Thoughts: The board did not post out of the box.. after resetting the bios with the jumpers (and possibly unnecessarily re-seating the CMOS battery) it booted up fine though.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Great heatsink for an Atom board. Solid contruction, quiet. Much better than another Atom board I have in which the fan gave out after about 2 months.

Cons: Does not have any digital sound. An S/PDIF header on the board would have been a nice option.

Other Thoughts: Awsome board. Gives me piece of mind knowing I've got that huge heatsink on there. The fan could seize up and would probably still run ok, although being an ASUS product, that will probably not happen for several years.

4 out of 5 eggsMy impressions

Pros: Decent price, small, low-power, quiet.
Parallel Port!
Solid board - even being so thin.
Good layout I guess.

Cons: Heatsink needs two fans, or extra fans in case.
USB port too close to VGA connection (this will be headless anyway)
SATA not hotswap :(

Other Thoughts: I don't know what you people expect from a system like this, playing fps games, watching blu-ray? Not gonna happen. I am still a bit torn on Intel CPU's - somethings are snappy and some things are like - what is the hold up. I knew what I was buying but I expected a little bit more speed.

Luckily I have a more powerful machine to help me compile programs on.

I also think that video cards should not run resolutions that don't allow smooth full window dragging. So that puts this one at 1024x768 max, maybe a bit higher on a custom resolution, but not much.

This is replacing a very power hungry Dell Server, I need a server environment, but not a ton of kick to it. I have yet to really stress it out. I am adding another NIC to this setup. Hopefully it can handle all the NetFilter stuff smoothly - This will mostly be doing routing / traffic shaping and proxy tasks.

4 out of 5 eggsAsus MoBo

Pros: Certainly a good board but not a powerhouse gamer. Am on my second board as the first died after about 5 weeks (possibly my fault as was in process of expanding memory). Using it with Xp as server to 2 other networked computers, plus play a lot of spider solitare and daily write HTML code for 2 websites.
Instillation into a chassis went quickly and both boards came up working at first attempt. Recommended.

Cons: Nit-picking: Would like to see more options in the bios for on-board graphics memory configuration.

Other Thoughts: For persons needing a second home computer but on a tight budget, this will be a good buy for them.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Pleased!

Pros: Runs everything very smooth. Very Quiet! I thought it was very easy to install into case and hook up all componets. Not a powerhouse but I am using it for a 8 camera dvr system alone. Started up the first time no problems.

Cons: nothing that I can find.

Other Thoughts: Intsalled into a thermaltake case, 2 gb kingston ram, 80gb pata hard drive, 300gb usb hard drive, Sony dvd RW +- drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Internet Box

Pros: Good layout of most components, BIOS setup is straight forward. XP startup is eerily fast.

Cons: Placement of the front panel (power switch, etc.)connectors so close to the PCI and memory slot, required use of tweezers to attach wiring.

Other Thoughts: As long as you use it as intended, internet and basic use like music play it works quite well. Other than web gaming, or very basic games do not run well.

Although the first board was DOA, the 2nd board started up and was configured very quickly.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and reasonably priced

Pros: 2nd motherboard had no Ethernet on boot, but live CDs worked. Reinstalled Ubuntu and I now love this board. Low fan noise as compared with the previous case and AMD processor fan combo in the desktop case.

Cons: 1st try, new motherboard used with old IDE hard drive, Ubuntu 9.10 (32Bit). Installed 2 Gig pqi turbo memory, (Memory packaging and heat shield were not a problem). Found no Ethernet on boot up but all else was great. Tried several live linux CDs but no Ethernet found. Pluged a NIC card into PCI slot and still no joy. I received free shipping for RMA after council with ASUS.

Other Thoughts: Possible that a SATA hard drive might have proved to be less hassle. Newegg still rocks.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little board

Pros: It's an ASUS product. The one thing that makes this board stand out against the other Atom based ITX boards is the heat sink. It's huge and covers both the CPU and the north bridge. Stress tested the cpu at 100% load for 30 minutes, CPU temp never went above 49 C. Seeing as this was used in a new PC build that will be used for web surfing, email and office apps I doubt it will ever see 100% CPU usage for any stretch of time.

Cons: The 40 mm cooling fan on the heatsink runs at 6000 RPM by default, and makes a whining sound. I bought a Zalman Fanmate 2 here at Newegg. By turning the RPM down to around 4200 the fan is silent.
The EMI shield feels really really cheap, be easy with it.

Other Thoughts: As another reviewer had stated I turned the heat sink fan upside down to blow cool air into the heat sink fins. I did not try the fan they way it comes out of the box.

Overall a great board and would buy again.
