1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: worked good for about 5 months

Cons: sata port worked loose somehow and have to jiggle cable to even get computer to turn on...tried multiple sata cables and all had same results so it is not cables fault

Other Thoughts: Junk that falls apart less than a year of use and then company wants to jerk you around for warranty...No wonder newegg does not sell anymore..

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb board

Pros: Blue heatsink and board looks cool, goes well with black SATA cables and black case. BIOS conservatively set out of the box (IDE sata mode, not AHCI, memory remap setting set to disable which makes sense if you're using the built in video from the get go, but doesn't automatically switch if you're using a dedicated video card) but "just works". Bios update feature is slick (just plug in a USB device with the ROM at startup). Layout is ok, SATA ports all in a row. You'll need a long case fan cable if your fan is located in the back of the case because the connector on the mobo is located in the back of the board. PEG/PCI priority is set out of the box, you do NOT need a video card to enable the onboard video (another reviewer wrote that, just reset your settings using the jumper). Superb audio quality (using quadraphonic analog mode).

Cons: When using a dedicated video card, SATA ports could be annoying since they are in the way. I am using a MSI Geforce 9800GT OC and I did manage to install the card and route my SATA cables around it, but it took some consideration. ATX case pins (power led, power switch, reset etc.) end up being located between the power supply and the dedicated video card, so make sure you connect those 1st, you won't have any room after installing your video card. I/O shield didn't work very well for me, the little springy pins for the ethernet port ended up being outside the case at the end, instead of in. I had to bend them to connect my ethernet cable (didn't feel like disassembling everything and restarting), so watch for that also. If your case fan is in the front of your case, you might need an extension for the 3-wire cable. The pins on the motherboard are kind of far.

Other Thoughts: I did not really test the onboard HDMI output, I went with a dedicated video card right away. Also, I did not experiment with the overclocking bios options, I am running at default speed. I am sorry to hear about the people that got bad boards. Mine fired right up!

5 out of 5 eggsA very nice combo

Pros: Smooth sailing with this combo:

HEC 6K28BBX585 case - it works, it's quiet and it's cheap.

ASUS P5G43T-M Pro LGA 775 Intel G43 mb - looks nice, has good user manual.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 - it's very easy to install and fast too.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB - no problem

G.SKILL NS 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM - no problem.

Cons: No problems so far.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat basic board... but...

Pros: The board is great for casual builders who don't over clock. The BIOS is simple to understand and manipulate and the abundance of USB ports is awesome.

Cons: The only bad thing about this board, is that the SATA connectors are positioned so that the first two are covered if a long video card is put in. Not too much of a problem unless you have a lot of drives.

Other Thoughts: This Board
Intel E6700 2.67Ghz Dual Core Processor
4 GB DDR3
PNY nVidia GTS 450

2 out of 5 eggs2 Bad Boards

Pros: DDR3, lots of video output options and USB ports.

Cons: The first one failed after less than a day when I was plugging in a USB cable. The video scrambled and the system froze. After that it would not even POST. So RMA'd the board and when that came I tried it and it did not even work for a little bit. I tried the board in a different case with a different PSU and a different processor. Nothing mattered. And since this build was for family out of town I could not troubleshoot the computer until after I could not send the board in for a replacement.

Other Thoughts: I have built a number of machines, all with parts from NewEgg, and I have never had any problem like this. It is very frustrating when this is for someone else and I convinced them that a machine I built would be faster for cheaper. I did not count on it also not working.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet board, easy setup, great for HTPC

Pros: Running stock, I built this for a HTPC system and it works flawlessly. I was a bit worried about using the onboard HDMI, but so far so good.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: I'll be buyinng a few more of these for future builds.

2 out of 5 eggsLooks great but no video

Pros: Three display port, VGA,DVI, and HDMI ports with edequate USB ports.

Cons: I bought 8 GB of DDR3 RAM 2 sticks of 4GB each.
Tested and had no video. I exchange the ram for 2 stick of 2 GB and still no video doesn't even post.

Other Thoughts: After reading the comments, It seems as though a lot of people had experienced the same problem.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Little Board

Pros: This is a solid little motherboard.
DDR-3

Cons: Only 2 Memory slots.
No onboard RAID.

Other Thoughts: I have been using this board, without errors, as my Windows Home Server for months. It has been flawless for the task. I have also used this MB in a second machine as a Media Center PC and everything seems to be equally solid. If you're looking for a board that will provide all the basics and work well, this is a good choice. I wish it had onboard RAID, but, if you don't need RAID, it's excellent.
