4 out of 5 eggsGood solid board

Pros: VERY stable - if you were lucky enought to get a good one I guess?
Bios easy to navigate and adjust settings.
Had the right amount of features needed for this caliber of MB.

Cons: RAM slots are a bit close to cpu slot. I have a side mounted fan on my CPU headsink and it makes it very difficult to utilize all 4 memory slots.

Other Thoughts: • I've owned this board (2 of them - me and the wife) for almost 2 years now and have never had a crash, blue screen, or anything of the sort...
• @wormxwood - How can you claim tech level 5 and make statements like that? I don't think so. lol
Adjust bios settings to your specific needs and the board boots up just fine.
• My computer from pressing the power button to having browser up surfing web pages takes about 15 seconds. I run an i5 and Crucial 256GB SSD.
If your computer takes 1+ minute to just get through the bios, you have it setup dead wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Works great. Haven't had any problems with it after install. Comes with a few programs for monitoring your MB and CPU temps and fan speeds.

Cons: A lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. Also, had trouble installing it at first. Realized you have to put spacers between the MB and case or it will short out.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Mobo

Pros: It's cheap, it has good specs, used it for a gaming build and it does its job.

Cons: A few minor problems. The BIOS has some issues. Kept giving me an error message about not recognizing the CPU fan even though the fan was clearly on. A quick change of a setting in the BIOS fixed that but it was irritating. BIOS takes a little too long to start up compared to other motherboards I've worked with. Also, as others have said, there's a very small list of compatible RAM. Is it really that hard to make your motherboard more broadly compatible? I was lucky to find the right batch of RAM on Newegg.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend for someone who is building a computer for the first time. Only for the experienced who can deal with little niggling problems and keep their cool.

1 out of 5 eggsDont buy!

Pros: It has all specified features.

Cons: -the RAM slots only have clips at the top, not the bottom.
-Incompatible with alot of RAM, even with specified speed.
-takes extra 10 seconds every time on boot to "identify" IDE devices
-takes extra 10 seconds every time on boot to "load ASUS express gate"
-JUST BOOTING THROUGH BIOS TAKES OVER ONE MIN!

Other Thoughts: I bought this motherboard when my old one died, and the the aging socket meant I had limited choices on newegg. /regret/

4 out of 5 eggsIt works... but is rather qurky

Pros: I had no problems with shorting or doa's or anything of that nature. As one of my first builds, it went famously well. Plug everything in, and you're good to go

Cons: I don't know who's fault it is, but the standard cooling fan that came with the cpu doesn't fit very well in the holes on the board.

Other Thoughts: Recently I have gotten a rather strange issue. The board and my i5-750 are trying to OC themselves, and failing miserably

2 out of 5 eggsLow Buck MOBO

Pros: not expensive

Cons: Didn't fit the IO backplate (I had to modify it). I don't like the layout of it, not enough ports for SATA.

2 out of 5 eggsSounds good but

Pros: the specs say everything you want to hear about a MOBO. its an easy install fits my case well plenty of slots/ports.

Cons: it has extremely poor english on boot up screens, having multiple ram in the board gives you mini dumps which fried my first hard drive and now it wont accept my ram and no one can seem to help other then telling me to send it in for an RMA... mini dumps ID problems with every thing but RAM and yet the solution is removing one. if you want this board dont run more then one stick of 2gb ram.

Other Thoughts: fix the english because "no any device!" isnt english.

1 out of 5 eggsRMA'd, not fixed

Pros: Half of these boards work.

Cons: I purchased six of these boards. 2 were defective (NewEgg replaced them). 1 lived for 2 weeks. RMA'd that one to ASUS. It came back in about 3 weeks, still defective. Contacted support 2 weeks ago, no response.

Other Thoughts: I still buy ASUS monitors and video cards, but I will never buy another ASUS motherboard.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear about the issues. Please contact us at Newegg_ASUS_MBSupport@asus.com stating all parts used together with RMA case numbers and we will look into this for you.

Regards
ASUS Customer Support

2 out of 5 eggsTerrible Customer Support

Pros: Product worked fine until I got hit with a powersurge and it fried my video card other devices.

Cons: RMA'd it back to ASUS, got the motherboard back last weekend only to find that I had left my cpu/heatsink installed. I read that you can request the items be sent back in their original email too me. I called on Saturday 2/11/12 to request the information to pay for the shipment of my items and was told that the person in charge would not be there until monday. Long story short, I call again monday, wednesday, thursday, and friday (today 2/17/12) after finally receiving one e-mail from them saying (i hadn't received e-mails supposedly sent from customer reps regarding this until I tried the live chat reps). They said that they didn't not receive my items and the last person i talked to ask if I took pictures to which I replied "No, because I didn't think this would be an issue". And now I'm waiting tomorrow to talk to a supervisor as its been 2 months+ since I've had a fully working computer and am a student recording engineer working on a linux laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding

Pros: I bought this for my wife as an upgrade from her socket 775 setup. I myself have been using the same exact board for over 2 years now and love it. No issues with the install or setup everything worked right out of the box.

Cons: Not a one.

Other Thoughts: I have 16gb of corsair vengeance 1600 installed and it all works so for those that are having memory issues yes you almost always have to pay attention to the QVL but if you know how to read the instruction book it will tell you what you need to know.

Screws? Standoffs?

5 out of 5 eggs
This is a great board. To the cat talking about stripped screws and standoffs... Since when do motherboards come with either ...

Great Board

5 out of 5 eggs
Great price, Asus Bios has a lot of features. MemOk switch/light is nice for tracking down problems.
