5 out of 5 eggs5+ Reliable Years

Pros: Bought this board October 2010 and paired it with a i5 760 cpu overclocked to 3.4ghz (stock 2.8ghz), 4GB Corsair ram (2-2GB sticks), gtx 8800gt graphics, 850watt psu, Corsair (push-pull) water cooler kit (idle 30c stock, 35c oc'ed). Recently upgraded to 16GB ram, Kingston SSD 120GB for os, replaced GPU with PNY gt730 2GB (8800gt finally died after 7years) this might not of been top of the line, but for $20 a year, I just can't buy anything but asus from now on. I made sure it got disassembled and cleaned at least 4 times a years and temps never got above 50c. Thank you Asus, looking into the i7-4790k for my next build, for this board and cpu-server-time, maybe I'll get another 5 years :).........

Cons: Con: won't play every game at normal settings anymore, want usb 3.0 and usb 3.1, only 16Gb ram compatible, only getting 5000 score with 3D Mark Vantage, 7000 oc'ed gpu, outdated, outdated, outdated. With Skylake coming out I believe we should wait a year or two to see what else Intel produces. So that leaves me with Haswell i5 or i7, 4690k or 4790k.

Other Thoughts: Unbelievable and affordable budget build considering the technology in 2010, and now, as I type this review you are reading.

5 out of 5 eggsgood board

Pros: I have had this board for 3 years and I have never had a problem with it. I finally upgraded so this is going in a Fractal R4 case as a server. i3 530/8gb ram

Cons: The only con I did have with it was a ethernet issue when running linux but as long as you look around, you can solve it.

Other Thoughts: Kinda wish I waited til 1155 came out but I regret nothing. It was paired with a GeForce 260 gtx and would play SC2 at max.

5 out of 5 eggsMy main system 3 years later

Pros: I initially chose this for a building a desktop on a budget and reusing old parts. The PATA port was a money saver for me at the time as I didn't have a SATA optical drive. 6 SATA ports seemed overkill but over time all 6 are now in use. Same thing with the 6 USB ports in the back.

Cons: The Realtek Ethernet started acting up with disconnections and slow speed. Rather than dealing with an RMA, I Installed an Intel card in the sole PCI-E x1 slot and that performs way better and more reliable.

Speaking of PCI-E, there's only one x1 slot and by filling it with the NIC, I can't expand functionality further with a USB3 or RAID card. I'd rather see the old PCI slot in the end which I have no use for be replaced with a PCI-E slot.

On filling the four RAM slots, the pairs had to be put it a certain order for it to boot. It could be due to installing different sizes (2GB & 4GB pairs) despite being from the same brand.

Other Thoughts: Initial 2010: Core i3 530 | 2GB RAM | 500GB HDD | GeForce 8600GT | Windows 7

Current 2013: Core i3 530 | 12GB RAM | 128GB SSD + 3TB HDD | Radeon 6850 | Windows 8

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -6 SATA
-compact design
-4 RAM slots. make sure to install ram in same color slots if you only have 2
-don't know how well HD video works - i use VGA...

Cons: -front panel audio connector needs to be long enough to reach the very rear of this MB.
-comes with really cheap feeling SATA cables. they are 90 degree on one end, straight on other. not many connectors on MB can be used with 90 degree end.

Other Thoughts: I have it with:
Kingston 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
Intel Core i3-550 Clarkdale 3.2GHz
worked with no problems on Win7 64bit

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works. It has performed without problems for over 1.5 years.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Express Gate is useless, but it can be turned off. You should make sure that it has the latest firmware.

There is no problem with this board, but I would recommend a 1155 board at this time.

1 out of 5 eggsAll the features, no functionality

Pros: On paper this board has all the right stuff for the price point. A Good selection of new and legacy I/O ports and 1156 support.

Cons: I should have read the reviews of this board more carefully and saw all the problems that I too experienced. The board was DOA and would not POST or produce video (yes I was using the Core i3-550 with gpu). The testing was done on the bench, with two different PSU, different memory sticks, and a PCI-E video card. I've used Asus in the past and have been very successful with them thats why I chose this board. But this board, or this run of boards, is garbage. Read the reviews carefully and check the inter-tubes because lots of people are having this issue.
