5 out of 5 eggsEVO-mazing!

Pros: Amazing board, everything on it is placed well. The single PCIe isnt a problem either, itll support anyGPU even the extremely High-End cards as well.

ASUS did a darn good job with the manual, It tells what the best RAM is for the Processor, (Limited CPU's shown due to new CPU releases) But its still amazing.

Cons: An extra eSata and 2 more usb 3.0 would be nice, but hey its nothing to really complain about!

Other Thoughts: I bought some corsair 1600mhz RAM to go with the i5 2.66 quad thats referenced in the manual, and it works flawlessly!

ASUS has never done me wrong, i also own an ASUS laptop and bought an ASUS netbook for a friend, and i've never had a problem, customer support is also fabulous!

5 out of 5 eggsNice MB

Pros: Price, Video/Audio Out, O.C. Functions, Windows Software

Cons: USB Control

Other Thoughts: This might be asking too much, but I wish the BIOS allowed the user to select USB ports to shut off during Sleep and/or Power Off.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Mobo

Pros: Name Brand
Good BIOS options for overclocking
During my overclock testing, whenever it fails, the bios has been able to recover and I haven't had to reset CMOS
Optical out audio allows for surround sound (I have 5.1)
USB 3.0
Can change BIOS logo to any picture when you flash firmware

Cons: Only 1 PCIE 2.0 slot, so no SLI or crossfire is possible.
H55 chipset (again, not good for SLI or crossfire, but a non-issue here as there is only one PCIE 2.0 slot)
Included software is not impressive. I installed and then unistalled everything but the firmware updater.
The 6/10 connector from the PSU to the board had a plastic piece on it. I decided to use 10 pins rather than 6, but this was a bit confusing and I couldn't find documentation about it. I guess the board can run with only 6 connectors? (You still need to plug in the standard 24 pins at another location)
Did I say you can't put two graphics cards?

Other Thoughts: This is my first build. I paired this board with an ATI HD 5850, but I knew I would need to buy a new mobo if I ever want to upgrade to dual graphics cards.
I put a i5 760 processor in (no onboard graphics, so does not fully utilize this board)
I have been able to overclock the processor (I'm still in the process of experimenting) but so far the glass ceiling has been the processor limits rather than the board. I was able to boot into Windows with a 203 FSB (an increase of 70 units) but stability issues are being limited by the processor, not the board

4 out of 5 eggsBeware if dual boot

Pros: Board has what it claims. Easy to install. Reasonable documentation. I am satisfied and NewEgg is good about RMA's.

Cons: I return the first one I received. Gigabit Ethernet would only run 100Mb. Installed replacements and installed Win7Pro 1Gb OK after installing drivers on the disk. Without pulling power cord I installed Suse 11.3. Ethernet would only run at 100Mb. Ready to return this one called and got RMA and turned off power and unplugged. Next day turned on and booted Suse and now 1Gb is operational. Major problem witht he board. You likely cannot dual boot Win7 and Linux without turnning off power.

Other Thoughts: I tried Win Server 2008 R2 and got the same problem since the CD doesn't work with that OS. But you can modify the description files to add the OS ID and tell it to use the Win7 drivers. But I am unsure it that is true for all the drivers.

5 out of 5 eggsgood board, but be sure to update BIOS

Pros: Works as expected; I like the control over the speed of cpu and case fans, which ASUS software provides.

Cons: Does not support SATA III, updating BIOS is a must

Other Thoughts: I had frequent blue screen of death issues, in particular when copying large files. They magically disappeared when I updated BIOS. Since then I have seen BSOD only once. I suppose BIOS update is particularly important if your processor model is newer than this board. I was puzzled at first why my i5 680 was shown to run at 3.46 Ghz only but that was fixed after the BIOS update.
It would be nice if ASUS had a board in mATX formfactor with both USB 3.0 and SATA 3 support. This one is a nice little board though.

Core i5-680, Scythe Ninja 3 sink&fan, Mushkin Essentials 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10666, Crucial RealSSD C-300 256GB, ATI Radeon HD 5450 512MB, Auzentech X-Fi Bravura, Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

4 out of 5 eggsGood board. Don't bother with bundled software

Pros: Does what it is supposed to do and offers USB 3.0.

Cons: This is a solid board with the all the features I need, but the bundled software that is included is useless/silly. ExpressGate gives you a chance to launch directly into a few Linux based apps before the computer boots up but they typically take as long to load as Windows. The overclocking tools that come included did not affect PassMark CPU scores or measured CPU frequencies.

Other Thoughts: Its a perfectly fine board, but you're probably better sticking with the drivers-only initial setup.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent mobo, with issues

Pros: The board works great with the i5 Clarkdale that I threw in it. Not many problems with it.

Cons: Problems with the onboard sound.

Other Thoughts: I'd really like this board a lot more if there weren't so many problems with the audio drivers and not playing anything on random occasions. Windows 7 drivers worked less than the Realtek drivers, and wouldn't produce sound in a fullscreen application. I thought it might be user error/bad drivers, but after getting the drivers offered by ASUS, and still not having any luck, I'm not sure what to think. I'd still say this is a decent motherboard, as it's been very sturdy and I've had no heat problems. So, maybe my problem is my own, but I'd still suggest being wary of what you buy.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board for HTPC build.

Pros: No issues thus far.
Used i5 650 clarkdale w/ 6gb ddr3 1600 ram.
Great video and sound!! Paired nicely w/ my receiver.

Cons: IO backplane was cheap. All of the tiny pieces or fingers in technical terms :) got caught in the ports during install. Had to remove and bend some up further.

5 out of 5 eggsGood board

Pros: USB 3.0, SATA 6, solid state capacitors.

Cons: IO panel shield a bit difficult to work with - had to bend out a lot of tabs.

Other Thoughts: Looks like another good ASUS product. I already have the P55D version of this board that works like a champ 24/7 (Ubuntu). This one was for an HTPC. Installed G.SKILL ripjaws and an i3-540. Audio over HDMI worked out of the box with Windows 7.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate the BIOS

Pros: looks good, great bios menus, usb 3.0 for future, very similar to my p55 evo

Cons: blue screened and froze NUMEROUS times before I updated the bios, priced a little higher than other h55's due to the usb3 support, only 6 usb slots,

Other Thoughts: I installed win7 x64 and was having a bunch of issues with freezing and bluescreens. I reinstalled thinking it was a bad install, but was still having issues. I updated the bios and things were perfect after that. No more freezing and the menus are much better. But really a great board in my opinion.
