5 out of 5 eggsFast, easy to install and great price!

Pros: I use this motherboard for my HTPC/Media Center along with a phenom 3.4ghz Black edition quad core proc, 8gb (2x4gb) G-Skill Ripjaw memory. It is FAST FAST FAST! Very reliable, fast and installation was a breeze!

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: Buy this motherboard!

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I'm been using this motherboard for a few months now and it's been really good. Haven't had any problems, even with the cpu cooler that required me to remove the installed mounting bracket.

Cons: The one thing I do feel "taken" over happened when I installed a new video card. When I was deciding which mobo to purchase I was debating between this one and one with two x16 pcie slots. I decided on this one because I figured I'd only ever have one video card installed. After installing a new card I noticed it was running at only x8. After looking further I noticed the mobo has an x16 slot that only runs at x8 speeds, even with only one video card installed. Since this motherboard comes up as x16 when you do a power search I'm taking off two eggs, even though it's not really a huge deal. You shouldn't have to read the fine print for something like this and it could have been something that really affected performance.

5 out of 5 eggsclear a few things up

Pros: im just clearing something up for some people who put a stupid bad review on this board. first off to the guy who tried to run 1600mhz ram on this board, it does NOT say in the description that it runs 1600. it says 1600(OC). mine is currently running at 1600 all you do is change the settings in the bios. it requires a small overclock on the processor for me so it automatically will up the memory to 1600. Unless you know what you doing i don't suggest going any higher if your overclocking ur cpu dramatically. And as for the idiot who said it didnt unlock him to six cores its because it only means it supports the AMD 6-core processors, not that you can unlock ur quad to a 6 core. Dont be stupid and post stupid things when you dont know what the heck your talking about. Board kicks some major *** with its 140W support it can hold the best of the best. Also I have a gts 450 stock overclocked card running fine at 8x perfectly and intend to put another one in there.

Cons: NONE BECAUSE IT DOMINATES THE PLAYING FIELD.

Other Thoughts: I have many leather bound books, and my house smells of rich mahogany.

4 out of 5 eggsindifferent

Pros: Works well with SLI setup. Makes overclocking easy with Black Edition processor. MemOK, therefore I was able to use uncompatible 1600 MHz RAM.

Cons: Refuses to detect USB mouse and keyboard, was forced to use PS2. Refuses to detect any speakers or headphones, I eventually plugged my headphones into my monitor which worked. Recently, my computer now powers off, but all lights and fans stay operating, not sure if that's a motherboard problem, but something you may want to know. As usual, ASUS technical support is useless.

Other Thoughts: This motherboard certainly has its fair share of unusual problems. However, it is reasonably priced, and offers SLI, which works great. I could certainly see myself purchasing another. With this price and features, a couple problems here and there can be overlooked.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Mobo for the Price

Pros: When I first got this motherboard in April, it was giving me a blue screen after a few hours of running both of my G.Skill F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL (2x4) sticks on Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. It ran fine on either of my RAM modules by themselves though, which was what I had to put with until the latest BIOS update was released to 'Improve system compatibility' in May. Fortunately this fixed my blue screens and it has been working fine since.

Cons: Wouldn't run my RAM w/o blue screens until newest BIOS, although they weren't on the qvl.

Other Thoughts: Used it for my first build also set up SLI with 2 Nvidia 9800GT's which works fine.

1 out of 5 eggsHuge Scam

Pros: First the good things about this board.

1) It was under 100.00
2) Capacitors well out of the way, heatsinks on the board do not seem to get in the way of things.

Cons: "2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (single @ x8; dual @ x8/x8 mode)"

I bought this board because I was going to use a new GTX570 in it at x16 speed. However what I didnt see was that it only runs the single at x8 speed. WHAT A JOKE. I'm very disappointed that ASUS gas the nerve to market something as x16 when it in fact cannot accomplish that speed on a single lane. Whats the next step? Advertising their ram speed is 8,000 MHZ because they have 4 slots of dual channel 2000mhz? I'm going to steer clear of ASUS products in the future because of this, I feel like their marketing scheme is a pile of garbage and should not be tolerated. The only way I would give this board more eggs would be if they had a bios flash that let me unlock x16 on the 1 port I'm actually using off the board.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy it if you're a gamer.

4 out of 5 eggsOnBoard ethernet

Pros: works great, be sure to use correct ram, haven't set up sli, but will. been using 4 months, started having problems accessing internet, completely formatted computer, no ethernet connection recognized. Past nwegg Rma time(bummer) have to deal with MFG direct. Would just put in PCI ethernet card, but most do not interface with Win 7 64 bi.

Cons: Other than on board ethernet being defective, no real cons.

newegg gets a 2 egg deduction for not offering at least 1 year replacement n board that has a 3 year MFG waranty.

Other Thoughts: had ASUS before, will use them again in future. Good products overall.

4 out of 5 eggsSATA and shur down a little iffy

Pros: Good power features, SLI, overclocks my quad chip like a champ.

Cons: I couldn't get the black SATA ports to work with one of my three devices.

Wouldn't shut off through Windows. Windows shuts down but you have to power it down yourself with the button. I eventually figured a method to fix the issue. I don't know if others can fix this though.

Other Thoughts: Great board besides these issues and this is for a client who won't be running more than 4 drives for sure. Still worth taking an egg.

This board hosted a Phenom II X4 925 and two EVGA GTX 460 SE 1GB cards perfectly and booted right up.
