5 out of 5 eggsFantastic AM3 Mobo

Pros: If you want a high performance mobo with two PCIe x16 slots and 6Gb/s SATA but you don't want to shell out for a Crosshair, this is it. Great features, 890FX is a great mature chipset, no onboard graphics to get in the way and add cost. Software is excellent. I got this after using mostly Gigabyte (Core 2 Duo and i7 builds) am really satisfied. Turbo Unlocker basically gets you a Turbo Core like function, but not just for the six core Thubans. My quad core 965 gets boosted with one click. My Crucial C300 SSD is taking advantage of the 6Gb/s SATA III. My Corsair XMS3 RAM ran at 1600 from the beginning, no BIOS change needed. USB 3.0 is nice to have. I bought this for cheap on electronic-bay and it actually shipped from the egg :)

Cons: Why is this deactivated? Bulldozer isn't out yet, Sandy Bridge is in delay mode, and this mobo rocks.

My big Scythe Mugen 2 tower CPU cooler hangs over the first RAM stick. I knew this though so I didn't get tall RAM. Barely fits.

Other Thoughts: Contrary to previous reviewers, mine does have two blue colored USB 3.0 ports (and newegg's pictures show them too). Also my back I/O panel fit everything just fine. Different revision? The model number is right.

1 out of 5 eggsBye, bye MSI

Pros: USB 3.0, attractive looks, fairly sturdy hardware, and helpful tech support.

Tech support responded to me email right away and offered numerous suggestions and theories and were very helpful. I have never received that level of tech support with a MB company before, so kudos to them.

Cons: I purchased this board more for its price point than its overclocking features. I received the board from NewEgg and could get it to post. I RMA'd everything from the chip, to the RAM, to the video card and could not get it to post. Must be the board. RMA'd that too and replaced with another one.

Tested all the components in other systems and they worked fine. Placed the new board in the mix and it was DOA. Again. I read on here that quite a few customers were having problems with this board. Based on their comments NewEgg actually gave me a refund for the board and I went back to Asus. Posted immediately.

Other Thoughts: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, and uh, well... I won't get fooled again. =)

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works? Everything hooked up fine. Feels like not enough case fan plugs. It works great can't complain much

Cons: Ram layout is to close to the cpu if u are using a big cooler. but works. Can't get my ram to clock to 1600mhz resets to 1333mhz probably voltage. Amd 965 doesn't like being messed with turbo unlocker it just reboots the bios and says unable to handle turbo unlocker but, not a big deal i don't need "6 cores" wish the cpu was a half inch lower and to the left for overhead room and ram slots i've had better motherboards in the past with layouts.

Other Thoughts: Better layouts are needed

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Fast.
Phenom X6 1090T worked flawlessly out of the box.

Cons: Doesn't have USB 3.0
Thought it did. Whoops.
I wanted 890FX w/ USB 3.0
But it works great. I can get a USB 3.0 pci-e 1x board for less than the price of getting an 890FX with USB 3.0 (at time of purchase -- days after 890FX chipset came out)

Other Thoughts: Buy it.
Have not tried over clocking yet.

Works with Win 7 x64 and Gentoo Linux perfectly.

4 out of 5 eggsGood overall, minor issues

Pros: fast, lots of features. works. i like A s u s despite minor glitches

Cons: 1. back panel insert has misaligned holes for keyboard and mouse. i had to take out entire motherboard to fix back panel with the drill. Very annoying.
2. At shut down audio makes a weird noise (on all latest boards) Audio should be fixed by manufacturer. At start up it makes windows flicker. Looks like a driver glitch on load/unload, may be other issues. same audio glitch on previous model board.

Other Thoughts: Has room for improvement. these are all bugs so far

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: i really like the internet before the operating system feature, i did not think it useful until i used it for a bit of stealth surfing, i.e. no cookies, checked out comcast, and by the way, do not click on the move window button whatever they say(chat with jennifer)

Cons: well, no usb 3, but then i have no usb3 devices

Other Thoughts: i've used asus for a very long time, whenever i had a problem, and it has been rare, no problems with exchanges

5 out of 5 eggsWorking great

Pros: My first PC build. Board installed easily and was able to use all the connectors. Not going to OC so did not try any of that. I just have not found any issues after one month of use. For a first-time PC build by a novice, this board was easy and appears great.

Cons: Manual could have been a bit clearer on certain things. I felt being technical helped me complete the configuration.

Other Thoughts: I reviewed both this board and the one that is one step up from this...the cool red one. Other than the other one seemed cooler looking and $50 more, they seemed the same. I'm glad I got this board.

MemOK! button for bad overclocks

Cons: not the USB 3.0 version
the board isn't black, its reddish
auto OC sucks, got me to 3.2ish before it crashed

Other Thoughts: it got me to 4.0 on my 1055T with turbo disabled
using gskill ripjaws 1600

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far So Good

Pros: All the connections you could ever need for a moderate game system. Take a look at this link for the real specs on this board, the Egg left some plus's out.
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=fLIjRELzxMxkH2UQ

I feel this is a good board for the overclocker beginner, lots of auto safety features. Nice little reset button on the motherboard.

Cons: With 2 double wide video cards you would only have a single pci slot that is usable.

Will not do SLI.

This is an over clockers board, but overclocking voids the cpu warranty! How does that work?

While installing Windows 7 I got the "Please insert driver disk for my sata cd/dvd writer." This error came up, even though I have been using the cd/dvd for other installs. The solution for me was to use a different PCI-SATA controller.

Other Thoughts: Running
Kingston HyperX T1 Series 8GB (4 x 2GB)
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz
ASUS M4A89TD PRO AM3
Nvidia GTX 295
Seagate 500gb SATA II
1350 watt power supply 4 buss

Windows 7 Business (Rank 7.8 everything except HD @5.4)

This setup plays Crysis on High everything but not perfectly, very playable though. BF2BC plays perfectly on highest settings across 2 monitors.

5 out of 5 eggseverything seems operational

Pros: everything intact, works as it should, came with proper drivers, pretty oc-friendly bios.

Cons: wish the manual was a bit more clear/detailed

Other Thoughts: using amd phenom x6 1055t, 2x2gb ram, 650w psu, and a geforce 9800 gtx+ with it.

so far so good.
