5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Using for Mytbuntu 11.04 frontend, All the hardware seems to be supported in linux. Works great. Im running it off an 8GB CF card through an SATA adapter. Boots really fast. Output to TV through HDMI (no overscan issues at all) working great and digital audio out into my amp.

Low power - the entire system (CF card, CD drive) maxes out at ~30 watts under full load, and idles ~22.

Great board!

Cons: ASUS hasnt done any bios updates (that could be a pro).

Other Thoughts: It originally had a random shutdown problem. It would suddenly shut off instantly without warning. Turned out to be a power supply issue and had nothing to do with the board. Im now using a new PicoPSU, the smallest available and it has been rock solid.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Little HTPC

Pros: Amazingly powerful for such an anemic machine. Granted, you won't want to encode Blurays to H264 with this, but you can watch them all day long, flawlessly. Runs relatively cool with passive cooling, although the GPU core did go up to about 85C watching hi-dev videos. A cheap PCI-slot fan reduced the temperature by 20C.

Cons: Only ~3.7GB of memory recognized ue to BIOS limitation. Really, Asus? Who limits their RAM to 3.7GB? You got it so ALMOST right with this thing.

Other Thoughts: Used as an XBMC box running 64 bit Slackware and using VDPAU drivers. 4GB (4GB installed, but only using 3.7GB. WTH, Asus?) RAM with 750GB local HD and 6TB network share attached. No optical drive installed, so I don't know how well it deals with that media, but it handles everything else I throw at it without a hiccup.

This is not a computational prodigy; it took about 90 minutes to compile a 2.6.38.1 kernel and a couple hours to compile XBMC, but once optimized, it chugs along with little effort.

Just using XBMC uses about 15% of one core. Watching a 720x480 .avi does not increase CPU load. 1080i .mkv increases the load a couple percent. VDPAU support is fairly simple to set up and configure. Audio quality is good through analog and really nice through HDMI.

I am very, very pleased with this little machine... except for the 3.7GB thing. Even with that asinine oversight, I give it 5 stars.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome

Pros: Great little motherboard. I have had it almost a year and it is performing great. I play games like Morrowind. You do not need a fan to run this.

Cons: It's not the deluxe version. I really wish that they had built a PSU onto this. That would have saved space in my setup.

Other Thoughts: The processor runs hot. 63-65 C But I have had no problems, just something to get used to.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat OSX86 board...

Pros: Overclocks easily (CPU @2.25GHz, GPU @550MHz) Just added a small fan to the heatsink. I run Snow Leopard 10.6.7 on it... Everything Runs great. Videos play smooth, My UI is like watching a movie... No skips... Even impressive geekbench scores! (~2100) It is a very nice board to look at, and there is even a PCI-e 2.0 x16 slot! I would say this is an amazing board.

Cons: Limited bios options.

Other Thoughts: If you do more watching than playing this board is for you. Gamers laugh at the Atom 330, but paired with the ION GPU this is a pretty impressive little board. I would at least OC this to 2.13Ghz... Which I found was no problem with only the power supply fan.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful little thing

Pros: This board has all the bells and whistles one could ask for just about. HDMI and VGA out, powered by a built on Geforce 9400M. You got dual core hyper-threaded processor, so doing lots of simple tasks at once is no hassle. Four SATA ports with raid 0, 1, and 5 raid controller. This can run off 90 watt power supply very easily. 6 Channel HD audio. Three 3-pin fan connectors. The works.

It also overclocks quite well. I have my cpu running at 2.1GHz 700MHz FSB 1.15v (stock 1.6GHz), the GPU at 600MHz core 1300MHz shader (stock 450MHz core 1200MHz shader) and with a very quiet 120mm fan on top of it out in the open, temperatures are very low, not the CPU or GPU ever going above 47c while stress testing 16 hours Prime95 and FurMark.

Oh yes, and it's quiet sexy looking.

Cons: The overclocking features are very limited. Memory timing options are odd. And the board is also very picky with ram. The set I bought for it and is currently in here right now runs at 4GB (2x2GB) 1200MHz 8-7-7-20 2T timings. I tried my other 2x 2GB sticks from my main computer and got those stable at 1200MHz with 7-7-7-16 1T. But regardless of ram quality, this board caps out at the very best at 1300MHz on the ram. I highly recommend getting 1333MHz ram with 7-7-7-20 timings about to get the best performance to cost ratio and still have overclocking headroom if you so choose.

Other Thoughts: I have mine running on a 90watt power adapter with the overclock mentioned above, a regular DVD-rom drive, one 2.5inch SATA 5400rpm hard drive, 2 sticks of 2GB DDR3 OCZ 1600MHz stock, and one 120mm fan. No power issues what so ever yet. I would still highly recommend a slim DVD drive to save some wattage if you are going to run off of 90 watts. Trust me I use all 90 watts at load most likely.

5 out of 5 eggsStout Little Board

Pros: Size (6.75 x 6.75), features, HDMI out option for using your big screen LCD as a monitor! Nice!

Cons: Not much room for expansion, but no biggie for my purpose

Other Thoughts: Aerocool QX2000 Cube Case, Western Digital Black Caviar SATA hard drive, 2 LG SuperMulti DVD burners, 500W Antec power supply, Running Kingston 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR1066D3N7K2/4G with Windows 7 64bit Ultimate and using the HDMI out to my 55" Vizio TRU-LED HDTV in the living room for the ultimate enjoyment!
I posted my video review on YouTube under 'rvr2'..

5 out of 5 eggsStellar

Pros: HDMI that has audio
No CPU fan whine
Low power draw

Cons: Sometimes chokes up under high load.
No eSATA (see below)
(Perhaps a second PCI slot?)

Other Thoughts: It would be really nice if there was a extended version of the board, so that you could have a tuner card and a graphic card. Wishful thinking.
Sometimes I forget that it is not designed to do number crunching and end up waiting for some tasks to finish; but, the benefits of passive cooling and lower power consumption far outweigh that detriment.
As always buyer's remorse, when I got this there were not boards with eSATA or USB 3, I needed estata and would have liked USB 3. Silverstone's SG-05 had an extra slot for an eSATA braket.

5 out of 5 eggsOverclocked

Pros: This little board has almost everything I could ask for. Was able to overclock the processor to 2.1GHz stable. Using this machine currently as an HTPC and steam box. Plays HD 1080p beautifully at stock speeds. Reason for the overclock was to see just how well it could game. Here's what I have my system set to and the WEI score of each component:

Processor 2.1GHz 700MHz FSB 1.15v vCore (3.8 WEI)
Memory 1100MHz 7-7-7-20 2T (4.8 WEI)
GPU 500MHz Core 1200MHz Shader (4.9 Aero 5.5 Gaming)
5400RPM 80GB 2.5 SATA HD Hitachi (4.9 WEI)

Cons: While for an Atom board there are quite a lot of nice little overclocking settings in the BIOS, there are certain simple things that are not able to be adjusted that I would have liked to. I bought 1.35v ram for this board to shave off a tiny bit more power, but the board only supports 1.5v to 1.6v. Also for some reason the CAS latency has a decent range of numbers to choose from, but all the other timings are only able to be set to 7 or lower. Not the best for me when my memory's stock timings are 9-9-9 and I wanted to try out 8-8-8 timings.

Other Thoughts: My system: AT3IONT-I Motherboard, OCZ 1600MHz 2x2GB 1.35v ram @ 1100MHz, regular Sata asus DVD drive, 80GB Hitachi laptop hard drive 5400rpm, Antec Mini Skeleton-90 case with its 90 watt power supply. Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Haven't tested out any steam games just yet, but with the overclock it is able to handle Starcraft 2 on medium settings at 1024x768 windowed fullscreen mode Vsync off.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat All Around Board

Pros: Great board, runs cool, overclocks well. plays videos like a champ. what lil gaming ive done runs amazingly smooth aswell.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: If you decide to overclock this board bypass the "profiles" included in bios. start at ~1800 for your fsb. that should put you at 2.1-2.2 ghz (mine is currently set at 1775 i'll push it a lil higher later) doesn't sound like a big deal but it drop a video conversion from 2.5 hours to about 1. and allowed me to use the computer during the conversion.

4 out of 5 eggsMighty in many ways for something so small

Pros: Quite powerful when it comes to certain things. I can play full HD movies while doing other things with no problems. Works for what I need it to do at the moment. Amazing power usage.

Cons: Doesn't handle webpages well. Very slow and uses up a lot of resources to open webpages. Scroll lag... Not quite as OC'able as I thought it would be, I have tried 2 different sets of ram on the QVL and cannot manage to get the board to OC more than 10%.
