2 out of 5 eggsMemory Issues

Pros: It was inexpensive.

Cons: Memory issues galore! When I first bought this (2011) I used some Shellshocker deal memory. It was Crucial I think, and did not work at all. It would not post. I called tech support and he told me he could not help unless the memory was in the compatible memory list. I sold the memory to a friend and bought some from the list. My 4GB worked fine after that. Fast forward to this week, when I finally upgrade to Win7 and install 16GB of GSKILL that I bought a few months ago. Again would not post. I have not tried to use one stick or another yet, and switch bank A to bank B as some users have mentioned, but I have never ever had a memory problem witha motherboard until now. Even the Newegg.com memory finder said the stuff i bought should be compatible. The specs are spot on.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great.

Pros: Great legacy functions for your old processors. Old style Printer and serial ports are nice.

Cons: Memory is DIMM3 not 2. Memory speed sucks.

Other Thoughts: Good to get my old Q6600 back in business. My Abit MB died so just needed the MB. Rip Abit :(

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Works great with G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600.
Using a q6600 @3Ghz stock voltages across the board

Cons: Board limitation of 1333 on the ram but i knew this before purchasing.

Other Thoughts: Great board. Nice layout of the sata connections. PCIE 2 slot cards do not block the connectors

5 out of 5 eggsGood motherboard

Pros: Able to achieve a weak overclock of 2.7ghz with an E4500 and a 250MHz FSB, without raising voltages. PCIEx1 slot is not blocked by my GPU, so I could use it for my wireless card. Gigabit ethernet built in.

Cons: No firewire

Other Thoughts: This did not come with a backplate for a CPU heatsink/fan, so I had to separate the backplate from the old motherboard (read: unglue with hair dryer) and reuse it for this one. It does work great with 8GB of G.Skill Ripjaws, though I had to reinstall to get 64bit (my fault).

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: none

Cons: DOA... tried using a 2duo nothing then used a Core 2 Quad ..with and without memory and nothing hooked up but power and video. I examined the board and nothing so I claimed an RMA. N.E. emails me back claiming the CPU socket was damaged per customer and denied my RMA.

Usually had good luck with Newegg but I guess not this time.

5 out of 5 eggsDocumentation Error

Pros: This is a great MOB for a home computer. which is used for in home office tasks with Microsoft Office, web browsing, and e-mail.

Cons: None regarding operation of board but see below for installation of the board.

Other Thoughts: The documentation enclosed stated to use the A slot for a single memory stick. The MOB was labeled A and B. The computer would not recognize the BIOS with the memory mounted in A. As a check, the memory stick was pulled and mounted in B. The computer is now working and worked after a second memory stick of the same specs from the same manufacturer was added. Did not verify if the MOB labeling was incorrect or if the memory slots were wired backwards.

4 out of 5 eggsnice but no superstar

Pros: Very functional and economic piece of hardware. No nonsense MB with everything needed for a basic build. On-board sound and video are very decent.

Cons: The packaging was disturbingly minimal. Motherboard in it's static resistant bag rested on nothing more than a single piece of corrugated cardboard. There was no padding of consequence. Upon opening of the item, multiple solder points at the back of the pcb had punctured through the bag and basically shredded portions of the corrugated cardboard, leaving considerable paper dust. The box contained a blurb conveying how the included packaging material was an attempt to be more "green". Personally, I don't feel the risk to quality justifies it.

Other Thoughts: My build was barely successful due to the awkward location of the front panel pin connectors. I used an ATX tower case for cooling, expandability, and other concerns. But because the pin connections were so far toward the rear of the board, the ribbon cable could barely reach them. As assembled, those ribbons are stretched as tight as a guitar string. I guess I could just as well blame Rosewell for having such short ribbons, but it is reasonable to have all those pins closer to the front.
