3 out of 5 eggsASUS Support Goof!

Pros: Great feature set!

Cons: SO-DIMM required.

Other Thoughts: My board went bad. Returned to ASUS support and they sent me the older rev. 2.0 version in place of my rev. 3.0 board. Also, the replacement board is warped! I will try again.

Pros: board #2 is working fine. Performs as advertised

Cons: Board #1 which I at first thought bad RAM or bad HDD caused it to freeze and in the BIOS would not display the SATA HDD sometimes. Flashed BIOS and changed HDD and RAM from board#2 and still froze and lost SATA hard drive. e-mail tech support on the weekend and still no word on replacing the board.

Other Thoughts: Automated e-mails saying they'll try to respond within 48 hours and 48 hours passes in a few hours with no reply. I resubmitted another one today, hopefully I'll hear from them soon but I will look for a motherboard next time backed up by better customer service where I can get defective products replaced promptly.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear about the issues. Please contact us at Newegg_ASUS_MBSupport@asus.com stating all parts used and we will look into this for you.

Regards
ASUS Customer Support

5 out of 5 eggsgrate little motherboard

Pros: i used this mainboard for a home theater pc, it works just fine for blurays using an i3 intel cpu. the wifi works just how you would want it to. its small for small computer cases. the board is just an all around good lay out, and runs fine.

Cons: none yet

5 out of 5 eggsGReat little board

Pros: Size and features

Cons: none that I have found

Other Thoughts: I won't call the laptop RAM a Con, just something you have to note before you order the wrong item.

Paired this with the i3-2105 to get the Intel HD3000 graphics instead of the base HD2000. Makes a real nice home theater PC.

5 out of 5 eggsHooked on ASUS

Pros: UEFI Bios - Asus is way ahead of the game on this one
Stable - I've had no major problems with this board. If anything, I'd attribute any weakness to a lack of attention to some much needed H67 chipset video driver improvements (Intel)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: For my purposes, the feature set (such as integrated Wifi) is way beyond my requirements. Asus makes a few models in between that were not offered on Newegg at the time. Went ahead and bit the bullet, and no regrets!

3 out of 5 eggsGreat board... but with HDMI output issues

Pros: For its size, this motherboard comes with a lot of great features. HDMI with (I think) bitstreaming audio support, Gigabit ethernet, etc.

Cons: I bought this motherboard to replace another H67 motherboard that was flaky. I did a motherboard swap without reinstalling Windows 7, and the 1920x1080 output worked fine. I decided to reinstall Windows 7 though, since it still had the old audio devices, etc from the old motherboard. Now I can't get any picture to show up on my TV with the Intel integrated graphics drivers from Windows Update... so now I can either use 1280x1024 using the standard VGA drivers with no acceleration or watch a blank screen...

4 out of 5 eggsGreat board, with caveats

Pros: Fantastic feature set. Everything I needed in a small footprint.

Cons: The antenna base won't tighten. Seems as though it has stripped.

Other Thoughts: After as much trial and error as I was willing to go through with, I could not successfully get HDMI out to work on Ubuntu 11.04 (audio worked, not video). Jumped ship to W7, unfortunately.

2 out of 5 eggsgreat mobo, except for one HUGE flaw

Pros: Very functional and attractive motherboard. I get great wifi signal, it fits nicely into my ITX case.

Cons: The drivers for the Intel HD2000/3000 drivers SUCK! Your computer will crash if you try to use the intel integrated graphics. Plan on buying a discrete graphics card like the AMD 5570.

Other Thoughts: Such a waste because now I have to buy a $60 graphics card, when I should have just been able to use the integrated intel graphics. Intel is working on this problem, but I wouldn't expect a fix anytime soon.

I love ASUS boards though. This is my 5th and they have always worked well besides this Intel driver issue.

1 out of 5 eggsNo 3TB - Terrible Support

Pros: Great featureset.

Cons: No support for 3TB drives in RAID. Contacted Asus and they never got back to me by email or in the forums. Found out the problem is they have not incorporated Intel's latest bios. The solution is right there and Asus doesn't care. Think I'm going to return this board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

The 17** series BIOSes support 3TB HDDs in RAID configuration.
