1 out of 5 eggsWorst customer service in the industry!

Pros: Worked well and was as fast as advertised. I did have to manually increase the speed of my RAM to 1600, the motherboard would only recognize it as 1333 although this may have been some type of compatibility issue and not a direct fault of the MB.

Cons: The board died after about eight months. I am an electronics technician so I have had plenty of situations with dead boards, sometimes it just happens and it was not a big deal; I was willing to let them handle it without becoming irate. I went about a month without my computer and then finally got my MB back. This is where the problems started. Now I will own my part of this, in the RMA instructions it told me not to send back any accessories, I missed this part and I thought I was supposed to send back everything. BAD IDEA, when I received the MB back all I got was the MB. None of my installation accessories (I/O shield, screws, documentation). As I said it was my fault for sending in the accessories but when the company received it they did not alert me to my mistake and inform me of my need to pay them for return shipping which I would have gladly done. Instead some person opened up my stuff, probably called me an idiot and then laughed while he threw away everything. I was not informed of any of this so now I have spent another month going back and forth with people who do not care to fix my problem, I faxed them all the paperwork about two weeks ago and when I talked to them yesterday they say that it is still in processing. There is no proactivity on the part of the company and at this point I can tell the customer service people just want me to go away. If you buy from ASUS you should be aware that they do not care about you after they make the sale and if you scour the internet you will find I am not the only one with these types of issues.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay board but nothing like you would expect

Pros: nice interface, looks nice, other than some issues in bios can overclock easily with this board

Cons: bios is very clunky, sata connectors are not organized well, for crossfire/sli and cable management in mind. USB 3.0 doesn't always work and can cause some boot issues if you leave a usb device plugged in.

Other Thoughts: It not a bad board, just was not worth the price

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board! Slight Complications!

Pros: This board is a powerhouse! Not does it support nearly every major stick of ram you would want to throw in it, but, it is an overclocking genius! Overclocking with this board is like putting training wheels on a custom chopper, fool proof! On top of that, the board is very cosmetically appealing! It has a black-widow-like design with a balanced mixture of black and red coating on the heatsinks and board. That is not all! The board has an X-Fi 2 soundcard built right into it and the onboard sound is great!

Cons: Upon first receiving the board I had major difficulties getting the board to post. The bios on the board was not up to date and the board did not support my CPU with the bios that the board came shipped with. I set up my entire system before initially turning on the rig and was unsuccessful in posting the board for 3 days. In order to get the board to post I had to unplug everything I had plugged into the board except the bare essentials... By the time I was able to get the board to post I had only the keyboard and a single ram stick plugged in + a pci video card. After I got the board to post I was able to update the bios using a flash drive and now my board runs great! Newbies beware, the troubleshooting on a board like this is extensive and if you run into complications you may find yourself overwhelmed with issues that you don't know how to troubleshoot. The plug and play ability on this board is weak and most things need to be manually set in order to gain maximum potential out of this board. I do not recommend this board for inexperienced computer techs.

Other Thoughts: I paired this board with an AMD FX 8350 (OC@4.5Ghz) with hyper 212+ sits at 35c idle and 40c during heavy load. My rig is designed for broadcasting video games over the internet on twitch.tv/starboundhero. Livecasting takes an incredible amount of resources and this board has been handled everything I have thrown at it with ease!

5 out of 5 eggsAsus is the best

Pros: Best AMD board for overclocking, uefi bios are awesome, Asus makes extremely reliable boards, tons of features like cmos reset at the touch of a button.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Whether you're buying intel or amd, Asus is the way to go. If you're an experience overclocker or a noob, this board is right for you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat overclocking board

Pros: Great design for a gaming system, the board runs cool even with high OC settings with an FX-8150. BIOS is very easy to use and the ability to adjust settings while in the OS is great!

Cons: It's a big board but that's why you buy it for gaming. It's red?

Other Thoughts: Great buy, the board has plenty of cooling options and is very easy to work with. Keep the BIOS up-to-date and it should be smooth sailing.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat FX-Capable Motherboard

Pros: Ran great out of the box. The interface is great, ROG's usually are. I like that ASUS still allows for password-on-boot bios support, and i like being able to save configurations. I don't want to disgrace other buyers' too much, but a DOA should be exchanged On Arrival, not a month later.

Cons: RAID support should be seamless, requiring no OS drivers, configured through BIOS similar to GigaByte boards. Full USB 2.0/3.0 support needs to be enabled sooner in Bios configuration, otherwise, you cannot enter a Bios password using keyboards that draw any kind of power.

Other Thoughts: I have had this MB since 2011 and it has worked flawlessly since purchasing.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Overclock button right on the motherboard, spacious, nice red color

Cons: Not that it's really the motherboard's fault the problem I ran into was that a mounting screw came loose and fell behind the Northbridge. Now the board is fried. :(

1 out of 5 eggsBoard was dead on arrival

Pros: I ordered this MOBO for my custom gaming computer that I built myself. The board came essentially dead on arrival, It would not boot up and kept giving 1 long beep 2 short beeps (which is a graphics card issue).

I had 2 different cards I planned to run in crossfire so I tested them one at at time and got the same issues. I also tried running the graphics cards in different PCI express ports and had the same issue. I re-seated my ram and then did a full break down and rebuild of the computer and had the same issue. I also tested my graphics cards in my friends computer one at a time and they both work perfectly fine.

After all of this testing and troubleshooting it was too late to return my board to Newegg. I have now spent several days trying to figure out how to return it to ASUS and have had 0 luck. They make it nearly impossible to open a warranty request on their hardware (its extremely easy if you have an asus laptop....)

Cons: Terrible, PCI express ports broken on arrival.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the motherboard. One beep followed by two short beeps indicate a memory issue, not video card. Try to reseat the memory, use only one DIMM on slot A2, try the MemOK! button (http://usa.asus.com/Motherboards/Features/MemOK/), and/or use a known compatible memory kit from our QVL: Please also check the Q-LED's (CPU, DRAM, VGA, Boot Device LED) that can help isolate where the issue may be, besides memory. If you have any questions or would like to continue support, please contact me below. Thank you.
