4 out of 5 eggsGreat FX-Capable Motherboard

Pros: Ran great out of the box. The interface is great, ROG's usually are. I like that ASUS still allows for password-on-boot bios support, and i like being able to save configurations. I don't want to disgrace other buyers' too much, but a DOA should be exchanged On Arrival, not a month later.

Cons: RAID support should be seamless, requiring no OS drivers, configured through BIOS similar to GigaByte boards. Full USB 2.0/3.0 support needs to be enabled sooner in Bios configuration, otherwise, you cannot enter a Bios password using keyboards that draw any kind of power.

Other Thoughts: I have had this MB since 2011 and it has worked flawlessly since purchasing.

Pros: Overclock button right on the motherboard, spacious, nice red color

Cons: Not that it's really the motherboard's fault the problem I ran into was that a mounting screw came loose and fell behind the Northbridge. Now the board is fried. :(

1 out of 5 eggsBoard was dead on arrival

Pros: I ordered this MOBO for my custom gaming computer that I built myself. The board came essentially dead on arrival, It would not boot up and kept giving 1 long beep 2 short beeps (which is a graphics card issue).

I had 2 different cards I planned to run in crossfire so I tested them one at at time and got the same issues. I also tried running the graphics cards in different PCI express ports and had the same issue. I re-seated my ram and then did a full break down and rebuild of the computer and had the same issue. I also tested my graphics cards in my friends computer one at a time and they both work perfectly fine.

After all of this testing and troubleshooting it was too late to return my board to Newegg. I have now spent several days trying to figure out how to return it to ASUS and have had 0 luck. They make it nearly impossible to open a warranty request on their hardware (its extremely easy if you have an asus laptop....)

Cons: Terrible, PCI express ports broken on arrival.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the motherboard. One beep followed by two short beeps indicate a memory issue, not video card. Try to reseat the memory, use only one DIMM on slot A2, try the MemOK! button (http://usa.asus.com/Motherboards/Features/MemOK/), and/or use a known compatible memory kit from our QVL: Please also check the Q-LED's (CPU, DRAM, VGA, Boot Device LED) that can help isolate where the issue may be, besides memory. If you have any questions or would like to continue support, please contact me below. Thank you.

4 out of 5 eggsGood motherboard, out of box software is a little buggy

Pros: Phenomenal motherboard, have gotten nothing but the highest performance from it for the past year. The UEFI BIOS is good at nativley detecting AMD or Nvidia Hardware and finding the best "Cool-To-Clock" ratio and scaling itself.

Cons: Drivers out of box are a little wonky, during install had tons of lock ups and bluescreen, both times I have done a fresh windows install on this motherboard, be prepared to be annoyed during install, once the up to date drivers are downloaded from ASUS, it works like a charm.

Other Thoughts: Optical Media Port is a little sensitive, be careful when plugging anything into it, and if you find you cannot use your keyboard when the computer is booting, turn off the ROG connect switch on the motherboard located to the I/O panel array.

2 out of 5 eggsRMA Nightmare

Pros: I've gotten it to work for more than a day.

Cons: I've had to RMA each and every one of my boards within a few days of getting it.

The first one the CPU Q-LED came on after a few days after blue screening.

The second one, the nic was DOA. Had to RMA it, but at least with a network cards (PCI), I was about to use it. Also, I've come to find that the PCI slot is very weird and doesn't fit an actual PCI card very well. I actually had to work it into the slot.

The third one, same issue as the first. CPU Q-Led comes on after just having it on that morning.

This is the first time I've ever had so many issues with one part. I'd be careful with any AMD parts as the quality seems to be very lacking. I've also had issues twice with my old processor as well as several problems with my previous ASUS Crosshair IV board.

Other Thoughts: If you're an Intel person, stick with it. You're less likely to have so many headaches and is widely supported unlike AMD.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the motherboard. Since Q-LED CPU_LED was lit on two of the boards, we suggest replacing the CPU for another test, and load defaults after updating the BIOS to the latest version. Can you provide a RMA # to us to review your case? Please email me at cl-benson@asus.com (reference #C1037-8344 in the subject line). Thank you.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Looking Good

Pros: Allot of different features, good if you need to plug allot of stuff into.

Cons: hasn't worked longer than a week and i've fried one SSD drive and looks like the other is going to go now.
Haven't been able to get this thing running right since i got it. Flashed the bios 10 different times now and still not working correctly. I'm hoping it was just this mobo.

Be warned allot of reviews have had the same problems.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear about the issue you had with the motherboard. Can you tell the specific problems you've run into? This would help us better support you. My email is cl-benson@asus.com (reference #C1037-7745 in the subject line), include your system setup. Thank you.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast MoBo with lots of bells & whistles. Working well so far.

Cons: 1st board was RMA because BIOS would not flash. ASUS recommended return. This MoBo had been bought returned by someone else previously and the open box was missing a few details--cables & stickers. Replacement board BIOS flashed & is operating flawlessly.

Other Thoughts: I have bought 7-8 ASUS boards and they all have worked well.
