3 out of 5 eggsGood board, bad layout, poor integrated features

Pros: Years of stability
Magnificent power state conformance
BIOS is convoluted but better than most UEFI
Fantastic anti-surge circuitry

Cons: Some very bad layout decisions - the audio header directly under the PCI-E slot is unacceptable.
Room could have been made available with a vertical WLAN socket and doing away with the second USB2 header.
The riser board for power makes working in an ITX case a huge chore. If only there was a better way; however, I'd rather it be there than not at all.
The sound connectors are complete trash, as is the driver. The actual chip is not as disappointing, but it is lacking abilities expected. The better Realtek offering w/ Dolby and Jack retask are expected at this price. I am glad ASUS only used three jacks instead of the needless 6, until I learn the jacks cannot retask.
Words cannot describe how disgusted I am with the WLAN card included. It is so awful it is unusable unless perfect conditions are met - which involves disabling it's Bluetooth radios, not having Bluetooth devices nearby, moving USB3 cables to the front ports and then finding the just right positioning of the antennas, while making sure their leads are not near other cables. I had to move the entire PC, now my headphones don't reach. Further, the driver is the biggest nightmare to deal with. It's trash trash trash. At this price, the superior Intel card should have been included, even if they had to raise the price. I'd have paid a lot not to have to deal with this Broadcom chip and terrible shielding. ASUS messed up to a level I didn't think was possible with them. Just say WLAN+Bluetooth arent actually included. Very annoying when the reason for doing such a tiny board was go get a tightly integrated PC. Learned my lesson.
The RAM slots are infuriating. I understand the normal clips wouldn't work on the one side because of the power module riser, but this was not a working design solution. Modules jar loose constantly, and are impossible to get back in without ripping the PC apart.
Worse, the darn thing doesn't beep for RAM failures. There's a red light, not near the other light, that you don't see. If you do see it, unless you know it being on means RAM problem, you might just think it means power is on.
You have to set up for 1600mhz RAM. It runs at 1333 unless specified.
Only one Displayport.
DVI waste of space. Worse, its not DVI-I, so useless even if you try to use it.
Has enough sata controllers for six ports, but two are wasted on esata when badly needed inside. Esata would be nice, but enough internal ports is required. I bought special esata to sata wires and ran them through a hole in the chassis. USB3 and only USB3 is the interface of choice for external storage.
A PS2 port?! Are they serious?!
Esata not separated from USB. Constantly trying to shove a USB in one.
BIOS cannot back itself up without a flash drive, which you will lose. The BIOS should back itself up to a secondary ROM when it's saved. Otherwise, it takes longer to back up than to just redo it all.
EPU chassis fan minimum is far too high, can't be 0. Very annoying

Other Thoughts: This board has annoyances which make me believe I shouldn't have bought it. But if was the best at the time, and the least annoying. They need to do better with ITX - specifically in the $150+ arena where the expectation is not to have to compromise. In all, the system has been stable 3 years and I have worked it like I have never worked a PC before. I have hammered this PC and have critical stability needs that this board has provided.
It's bit of included software is trash -AiCharger+... what? What does that do? Nothing - it does nothing. Uninstalled. Network remote and file access stuff... garbage, uninstalled. The control suite is okay now, but before the update it was... uninstalled.

When the board was new, the drivers made me nearly cry. The drivers on Asus website didn't work. The drivers just DIDNT WORK. Asus driver website was so bad that I will check if it still is before I buy another ASUS board. I am never going through that again. I would have returned it if it wasn't the only decent itx at the time. Now, there are more options. Still none are made to be critical workhorses with all the best features and the best of each feature. I better never see a Broadcom chip again in my whole life. Or ASMedia... this all better be Intel chips.
Only two SATA-III. They could have made the other two sata-III, they could have found a way.
Did I mention the audio header is UNDER THE GRAPHICS CARD?! INFURIATING! Unseats the card. So I have RAM and graphics card that unseat... Unacceptable.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Extremely small compared to normal motherboards. If installed in a normal case it leaves a lot of room for other devices and/or cords. Easy to install all components.

Cons: Half as many inputs for devices as a normal sized motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I didn't mean to buy the mini version. My fault for not reading it well! But I like it because it leaves lots of storage room for extra parts/cords inside the case.

5 out of 5 eggsNice lil board

Pros: Feature packed, amazing overclocking ability for a mini itx board, awesome Bios. Loves G.Skill Snipers, stays cool to the touch even when pushing the CPU to it's limits. Great color scheme, and last but not least it's made by Asus so you know you get quality. So good I bought two of these boards, very happy overall. Price was a plus also, at 155.00$ it was a no brainer.

Cons: Wouldn't mind a few more fan headers.

4 out of 5 eggsFeature Packed

Pros: Has lots of features, especially for overclockers. Installed without any issues. I/O shield was higher quality then some motherboards I've had in the past. The WIFI adapter supports 5gz networks which is a plus. Make sure you read the manual as two screws on the motherboard have to come out for the stand-offs during initial placement.

Cons: Lucid Virtu MVP software is very out of date. Doesn't support Windows 8.1 either. Downloading the latest version from Lucid's web site won't work (activates trial). I've done lot of research and it seems the latest is 2.0 which is different then the older suite.

Used a 3gb cable instead of a 6gb for my SSD (Asus includes two different "types"). Even though labeled differently I read it doesn't matter. This isn't a con more of a mistake on my end.

WIFI antennas seem cheap but do the job.

Other Thoughts: Overall not a bad motherboard! Other than ASUS not updating their drivers and software for it.

4 out of 5 eggsMake sure you READ THIS

Pros: So this board is a nice little board it works, and seems very powerful, honestly had no real problems with it expect for ( see cons) it worked out of the box, and did not hiccup or fuss.

Cons: If you are buying a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo heatsink, on on the resistors on the motherboard will obtrude this backplate ever so slightly, however i went ahead with this, and have had no ill side effects from this. The other thing i would like to note of is how the wifi was not the greatest, OK it worked but only if i had 1 antenna plugged in.... Strange, but still i would buy this motherboard again, and again this does work with a cooler master hyper 212 evo

Other Thoughts: sexy blue..

1 out of 5 eggsDied after one month

Pros: Worked well when it was functioning

Cons: Died after one month of use

Other Thoughts: This looked like a promising motherboard and it ran quite well when I received it. However after only one month of use it refuses to post and is no longer functioning. Very disappointing from a top brand like Asus.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mobo for mini ITX

Pros: I have this in a SilverStone SST-SG08B mini ITX case with a CORSAIR Hydro Series H60 watercooler. I have moved the system around with me in Afghanistan, and it is still running great. I'm about to take advantage of the eSata, and I have used all 4 internal SATA ports at one point. It has a ton of USB slots, and both rear and front ports work fine. The built-in wifi is great, and the mobo impressed me from the point I opened the box. Great peripherals, and the audio works great. The crazy thing is how much they got on such a small board.

Cons: You need to think about how you're going to build a mini ITX system before you start just plugging stuff in. It's more like tetris.

Other Thoughts: The Sata slots are tough to access when all 4 are used...needlenose pliers will help.
