3 out of 5 eggsDOES NOT WORK WELL WITH G SKILL MEMORY

Pros: This is a good board and does what it should do at its price point, but it has problems with stability if you don't use the proper memory. Otherwise, the board handled well.

Cons: I tried the board with two types of G SKILL memory, and had serious issues. The G SKILL ripsaws were better than the G SKILL modules without a heat spreader, but I still had intermittent crashes. The G SKILL memory without the heat spreader was very very unstable.

Corsair memory seemed to work really well. To be fair they have a memory QVL, and I suggest you use it. This board appears to not be very stable with some of the more popular G SKILL modules, and possibly other brands as well.

I verified this with multiple boards, as I rolled out a few of these.

Memory tested, and failed:
F3-10600CL9D-8GBNT
F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL

stay away from using those in combination with this board!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard!!!

Pros: Greatly labeled ports, ports for pretty much everything you'd ever need besides USB 3.0, and GREAT BIOS editor.

Cons: No USB 3.0 support.

Other Thoughts: I built a high end gaming PC, and ASUS was the first manufacturer I went to to get a motherboard, they make AWESOME products.!

5 out of 5 eggsgood small factor card

Pros: Its a small factor stable board with built-in support for intel CPU based video processor HD4600.

Cons: none (unless this board will break within the next few years)

Other Thoughts: I built a budget PC for my son for his homework (and maybe occasional game) The micro ATX factor allows this board to fit into a small case, such the a computer doesn't take space like a centerpiece in the bedroom. The board, and the build in general has so far proven be a reliable setup under Windows 7. I have put I5 CPU on it with HD4600 graphics and 8GB ram. Video performance is descent enough to play games like World of Tanks on the medium resolution, which I find pretty good for a Intel Graphics.

1 out of 5 eggscant get it to work properly...

Pros: it has all the things i want/need for a simple build

Cons: will not boot up, keeps cycling through the first phase of boot. gives me a beep, then resets, beep, reset, beep, reset, etc, etc...

i installed windows 7, it loads my desktop for the first time, then decides it wants to shut down after about 5 seconds. after shut down it restarts by its self then begins the eternal loop of beep and reset. aside from the initial installation of windows i can never make it inside the OS at all. i have traded out the RAM to one that is listed as compatible by the user manuel. tried a different power supply. swapped out hard drives. unplugged all unnecessary components, but nothing works.

Other Thoughts: the build is as follows.

- ASUS P8H61-M LE/CSM R2.0 LGA 1155 Intel H61
- i3-3225 Dual-Core Processor 3.3 GHz
- WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard
- Corsair Builder Series CX 500 Watt ATX/EPS
- G.skill 4gb F3-10666CL8D-4GBHK
- win7 64

5 out of 5 eggsYour Intel Buget Board Supreme

Pros: I paired this with the i5 3350p. might have spent a few extra bucks there, but saved on this board. Great budget build. Running great and no complaints.

Cons: It's a micro... oh well. you get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard

Pros: The board does everything that I need it to do. I used it to build a machine to play some niche Japanese games, and it has a lot of options in the UEFI along with connectivity. While it isn't the most updated version, it had what I really needed as far as chipsets and processor sockets are concerned.

Cons: None for my use scenario, but the lack of HDMI and USB 3.0 could put people off for anything outside budget builds. Then again, they might look at newer boards to suit their needs.

Other Thoughts: If you need a board that it stable when left on for long periods of time, and under high heat conditions, this is the one for you. If you need something that has more updated interfaces and more options than you can shake a stick at, look elsewhere.

1 out of 5 eggsVery cheaply made

Pros: None

Cons: This is a very cheaply made board. It had two bent pins in the CPU socket. Also I looked down the edge of the board and it had a nice bend to it instead of being flat and straight. I'm sure they know that there are people like you and me that don't want to spend a lot of money, so we get suckered on these cheaply made boards. I will look at a different manufacturer the next time I purchase a motherboard.

Other Thoughts: ASUS, where is your quality control? How hard is it to check and make sure the pins are straight before it's shipped???

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the motherboard. Our motherboards go through rigorous inspection before leaving the factory, and all come with a protective CPU socket cover to prevent accidental damage to the socket pins. We recommend sending the board in for RMA-repair. Unfortunately, this type of damage is not covered under warranty and a standard repair cost will apply. To proceed, please contact us again at 1-812-282-2787 or use the online RMA submittal form at: http://vip.asus.com/eservice/usa_rmaserv.aspx. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me below. Thank you.
