2 out of 5 eggsVery cheap and useful for the price!

Pros: Its lightweight but packs a performance punch, built in overclock gives performance a quick boost, and its a cheap MOBO

Cons: Too small for a micro ATX, i feel i have had bigger micro ATX boards, the SATA ports on the top face is a horrible design choice, had to opt out of using and extra HDD because then my video card couldn't fit because of the heat sink, and one SATA port is kind of sideways because of that, so to stay safe might need to eliminate 2 SATA connections or you will bend the ports. can't ask more of a $60 board, but dang.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued ASUS Customer,

Thank you for taking the time to write this informative review. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this experience may have caused. We appreciate your feedback on this matter and I will be letting the related department know about the issues you are experiencing for continuous improvements to the product line. If you are having issues connecting your extra HDD, please consider using a L-shaped SATA cord to accommodate the design of the motherboard's SATA connector. If you need help with any technical questions or choosing a more suitable mATX motherboard that best suits your needs you can reach me at

Thank you for choosing ASUS!

4 out of 5 eggsFine little board

Pros: My first Mini ATX board. Booted right up after installing Sandybridge CPU.

Cons: (1) The mobo initially had been difficult to install in my case. For example, the video card would not make full contact with PCI-E socket unless I took the board out of the case & installed the card first. But it's possible that my case isn't designed for smaller mobos to begin with. (2) No SATA-600 ports, just SATA-300. But then again, this is a MINI ATX motherboard, hehe! (3) AMI UEFI BIOS. VERY layered, unlike the more streamlined BIOS of regular, ATX boards.

3 out of 5 eggsStill kicking!

Pros: Works!
Great for 'I need a new board now' fix.

Cons: Runs hot.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for sharing your ASUS experience. I'm sorry to hear about your unsatisfactory What temperature is your motherboard operating on? Please make sure that you have direct airflow inside your chassis for optimal cooling performance. In terms of airflow, please make sure that you have cold air intake in and hot air exhausting out. Install an equal number of intake and exhaust fans for the best airflow. Also please make sure to Clean all of the computer's fans. Built-up dust increases air friction, reducing a fan's speed and lowering its efficiency. If that doesn't help you can also add more fans in your chassis to cool the motherboard sufficiently. You can contact me directly at if you need further information.

Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Best Regards,

5 out of 5 eggsSturdy board, has held up for almost 3 years

Pros: This board was part of a budget build, and it has seen several upgrades in its lifetime. It's been problem free, and I would and have recommended it

Cons: Only has two ram slots, and max memory is 16 gigs

5 out of 5 eggsWhat an upgrade. Probably the best mATX 1155 motherboard on newegg.

Pros: -The size of this mATX fits perfectly in my stock Dell inspiron case.

-A very good price for a non-ROG ASUS.

-Gives a massive power boost to my case fans and CPU fans.

-PCI-e 3.0 x 16 slot works perfectly with my Gigabyte R9 380x.

-Supports old 2 + 4 gb 1333 DIMM.

-6 USB ports so there's always room for more stuff.

-Baby heatsink on the chipset, just to be safe.

-Fast bus speeds means you get the best speeds possible.

-Very easy to use UEFI bios. Overclock your CPU and control fans before windows even boots.

-It's blue

Cons: -1 of the SATA connectors is directly across from the pci-e slot, making it impossible to unplug these with a modern GPU installed, without removing the GPU of course. Not a problem at all with my 2 HDD's and my DVD/RW connected.

-The absolute biggest con I can think of, is the front panel power connector pins. You may have to find an adapter to fit this, or break your old plastic cradle to connect the wires directly. Should really come with this adapter.

Other Thoughts: This is the best motherboard I could find which was able to use my LGA 1155 i3-2120, 2+4gb 1333 DIMM and my R9 380x.

Not regretting this decision one bit. ATX/EPS power supply fits it perfectly.

If you need an mATX upgrade for an LGA 1155, this is the best you are going to find. After buying this, I will only use ASUS motherboards.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product Poor Support!

Pros: Great Product for the price!

Cons: GPU Blocks my first pie -E slot~
My First P8h61-m le\csm had a bad memory channel in the first memory slot!

Other Thoughts: I am very unhappy with the level of customer support i have received from Asus! I do admit they tried at times, but in vein like talking to broken record! or worst a annoying parrot! With my first P8h61 I had the board out and read every possible number over the phone several times and each time i was told it was not the correct serial number. I gave up very unsatisfied with the service i have received from Asus i waited a while and just sucked up and bought another knowing it is after all a good product! Using this new product as a reference I called back knowing for a fact that one of the several numbers i first read was correct prior to being left with no choice but to dig in the wallet again and replace a product that was covered by warranty. I actually argued was placed on hold even had to call back after being hung up on i think twice!, but eventually one of the employees was able to confirm my serial and process my RMA on the phone!

I just want to mention as a reference that i ordered a keyboard mouse wireless combo from logitech that cost more then this mother board!, and one just (one) of the multimedia keys stopped working they sent me a new keyboard hassle free no cost to me never had to return the old i ended up giving to dad as he doesn't use those keys anyway.

I assume Asus will half-heartedly attempt to reply to this, but there is no downplaying the unforgivable customer support I received from Asus~!

In conclusion Asus does Make a good product in my opinion, although i can list many company's about the size as Asus and none of which i can say anything bad about =\

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Everything works at default settings 1333Mhz. Small form factor, yeah its dated but for me I was looking for something that was a space saver. This is a so-so board with descent parts.

Cons: Shipping was Horrible. I love the Newegg window shopping experience but they lack the info. where its coming from within the u.s. and shipping took a long while. I'm stuck with this board, I'm ok with that, but at least I can buy 2400mhz and it should run at 1333mhz. The stated 2200mhz OC does seem to be a marketing ploy so they can sell this product or help their DDR 3 and laugh at the customers spinning their wheels. I have 4gb Crucial 1866 Ballistix Ram and it lowered the performance to 1333Mhz. The bios isn't exactly an easy button its supposed to be. XMP profile option should set everything in auto optimized default, it did not work and even selecting 1866mhz ram speed from the board didn't work either. This is the second ASUS product I bought and I'm very disappointed with the so-called O.C. options and performance they brag about. I think after a few months I'll be going back to MSI. I would not recommend this to anyone on a tight budget or someone looking for a common sense buy because of their marketing scheme. Alot of people brag about this ASUS stuff and I'm really disappointed, I'm definitely not getting my monies worth of what was printed on that box they sell.

Other Thoughts: I know ram is always an issue, but for me MSI was better in that arena than asus. This board came from the east coast so if you want it just under a week get the 3 day shipping and avoid fedex smartpost that newegg does under free shipping...or call them to make sure where it shipped from.

3 out of 5 eggsFine, but needs 1 more fan slot!!!

Pros: Everything works fine

Cons: It needs 1 or 2 more fan slots! It can also do with another PCIe 3.0 Slot.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Happy

Pros: Good Price

Cons: Bough Asus 1155 computer. Had trouble right away and then during a lightning storm she died. Took it to a tech who suggested I just by another. My son told me to just buy a motherboard and he would put it in. Well new motherboard and couldn't even get up bios. Went to a different tech which could not figure it out and told me to junk it. New computer (junk). Put it on the shelf and got out my old faithful dell which is so outdated that it drives me crazy. Three months go by and I get out the Asus and take it 70 miles to a tech with really good reviews. He worked on it for about a hour and kept saying he couldn't figure it out. Then he took out one of the ram strips and bingo the thing came to life. Traded the ram around and found out that my brand new motherboard was doa. Reading the reviews on Asus I decided it was a waste of time to try to deal with Asus so now I have one slot that is good so I have half the ram but I won't buy another of these boards. That will do it for me and Asus.
