ASUS F2A85-V FM2 AMD A85X (Hudson D4) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: Everything except it was a dud.

Cons: Was a dud.

Other Thoughts: Parts: A-10 5800 CPU, G-Skill DDR3 1600 Rip Jaw (2x4gb), Samsung Pro 128 SSD, WD Black 750gb HD, Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo, Corsair VX 550W ps, NZXT Apollo case.

Tried every trick I know. Started outside of case. Assembled parts on test stand and got power to mobo, looks good, no memory error light flashes from onboard tester. Monitor shows Asus bios entry page. Says hit delete or f2 to enter bios. Stuck there. Tried 5 different keyboards. ( ps/2 and usb ), with no success. Re-seated, CPU, tried memory 1 stick at a time in each dimm, no go. Tested power supply with a tester and it was spot on. Tested memory in another computer and no issues. Checked for shorts to ground and nada. Talked to Asus tech support and they had me try same things and nothing. Said that the board must be a dud and that the bios could be corrupted. 1st time ever that I have gotten a dud mobo and I have bought tons. There's those that have and those that will now I have joined both. LOL Still love Asus.

Pros: What can I say everything about this motherboard is a pro, cant get much better. I upgraded from the ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO. And I am loving every bit of it

Cons: Nothing so far!!!!

Pros: Layout is very efficient. Instruction manual and on-board nomenclature is very easy to understand. Connecting to my ANTEC 300 Illusion ATX Mid was very easy and the case switches and LEDs work perfectly with the mb.

Cons: Not really a CON, more of a big scare... Been a while since I built a box, but I did considerable reading before hand on this board and others like it. I made the mistake of adjusting hardware profiles immediately in the BIOS before installing the OS and then updating the BIOS and isntalling drivers/utilities. Got a few restarts, Blue/Black screen of death...I thought I was in trouble. I went back into the BIOS, reset everything to default and I haven't had a problem since. I will wait to O.C. things a little while I guess.

Other Thoughts: The DIMM slots are very close to the APU socket. My 120mm Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus blocks the closest DIMM slot in the front to rear configuration. I have heard some people turn their fan/heatsink to a down to up configuration to mitigate this. I only had two DIMMs of DDR3, so I was good.
