Can you tell what case is compatible with this motherboard?

I used corsair obsidian 250 d. for three reasons.
1.i wanted the use the water cooled enclosed aftermarket cpu cooler 100i also by corsair it fits perfectly in the case
2. I have two other corsair cases and both are high quality although I am not crazy about the front latches on this one they seem a bit flimsy.
3.This case fits a lot of hardware and remains very compact and it fits below a desk on a shelf very nicely.
having given all my main reasons you simply can research on your own and look at all the cases that support the mini itx motherboard form factor and choose the one you want from there I will say that a benefit that this one has that was apparent to me after I started building the unit was the breakdown/ access to install all the components very important on such a small compact case to a guy with big hands and fingers. Magnetic screwdriver and lots of light a must on this build.H2

Are there any fan pin connectors for case fans? I see 2 or 3 sets of 4-pin connectors that look promising but I can't tell for sure.

Yes, and it's quite nice.  Actually far more flexible than I needed.

My last answer was incorrect it has both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi I went and looked at the instruction booklet we have yet to use the Bluetooth except for the mouse.

Question 5

This may be a dumb question but will I have to hook up the external antenna for the wifi to work, or will it work without it? I ask because I once put an Intel Centrino mini wifi card in my old Dell and it worked without an external antenna. It had long antenna wires that ran through the inside of the case and mounted towards the front. Thanks for any answers in advance.

While I have NOT used the wireless on this MB: With other MB's use of the included antenna is mandatory for decent reception. With a strong signal you might be able to get by, don't count on it.

could I swap this with the one in my HP Envy 700-074?

Unfortunately, the HP Envy 700-074 uses a uATX motherboard, and this is a mITX board.  This board will technically fit in the case, but you'll need to drill new mounting holes if your case doesn't already have them for mITX boards. (Most OEM PCs only have the holes that the parts they sell with use.)

Another concern is cable lengths, many OEM PCs have cables just the right length for the board they sell with, so it might be difficult to switch to a board with different connector locations.

I've seen some comments about not being able to boot from the M.2 drive. Is this true? Is anybody out there using the M.2 drive as the main OS & applications drive and booting from it?

Family and friends purchased 3 of these mainboards, and all of us have them configured to boot from the M.2 drive.  The UEFI BIOS takes some getting used to, but once you establish the basic concept of how it works, it's not too aggravating.

Will a dual slot GPU fit without complications on the only PCI 3.0 x16 slot? I will be using this in the Corsair Obsidian Series 250D (CC-9011047-WW). Thanks!

Yes it fits fine. Can't get the extra large(long) dual slot gpus. Standard length works nicely. Using a Radeon 270x. I am using a cooler master 130 with it with hydro set up. Tight fit, wire management def needed for air flow if using air setup.

Question 9

Am I missing something about this MoBo's "USB 3.0" readiness/compatibility?
I set up everything to a the spec and when I connect a USB3 external drive to any MoBo's blue USB ports it shows that that ports are actually NOT USB3.

My external drive is Toshiba 2TB that has a two-color light which illuminates:
- BLUE, when connected to a real USB3 port (and I do see it on my main workstation)
- WHITE, when connected to USB1 or USB2 port.
So the drive always illuminates white on all USB port of this MoBo...

Has anyone experienced this?

Had the issue. Installed driver cd for usb 3.0 "rapid charge" or something like that and it was resolved
