2 out of 5 eggsOnly for the very cheap

Pros: Low cost
Supports DDR or DDR2 memory
On-board video

Cons: Very slow memory

Other Thoughts: This might be a nice motherboard if you have leftover DDR memory, a cheap socket 775 CPU and an old AGP video card. Otherwise, look elsewhere. The substandard memory bandwidth is a deal-killer.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: AGP slot + C2DUO +DDR2 + Cheap upgrade.

Cons: Not Dual channel Ram.If you use a 800Mhz FSB CPU,the RAM will only run at 200FSB(PC3200 speed)You have to use a 1066FSB CPU to get this MB to run PC5300 RAM @533.Only 2 memory slots.

Other Thoughts: Seems stable enough and had no problems installing XP.If your Athlon board died and you needed a replacement, this would be a great replacement. You can pick up P4's cheap now.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Combines AGP with newer skt 775 P4's.Accepts DDR2.Easy to set up

Cons: No dual channel RAM.DDR2 RAM will ONLY run at 200FSB. CPU multiplier is locked.PC 4200 RAM will not run at 533

Other Thoughts: The lack of RAM support on this board is sad. This could be a real nice board if only it offered Dual channel RAM and if it actually ran @533

3 out of 5 eggsJust a basic AGP/P4 board

Pros: AGP matched with a high speed P4 skt 775,plus SATA or ATA 133 HD.Nice upgrade from Athlon XP MB

Cons: The RAM will NOT run faster than 200 FSB,therefore 533RAM will only run at 400 FSB.The CPU multiplier is locked. If you try to change the voltage on either the cpu or RAM,the MB will not even boot.DOES NOT HAVE DUAL CHANNEL RAM.Whats the sense in being able to run a dual core prcessor,if you can't run dual channel RAM or even 533 RAM,let alone 667.

Other Thoughts: If you get this board cheap enough,Ive found that even the DDR2 400 RAM is faster than the DDR 400.The new skt 775 P4 with its large cache of 1 or 2 MB,and new architecture is leaps and bounds over even the best Athlon XP cpu,so your nice gaming AGP card is still useful with this board.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Use P-D

Pros: When it works its great

Cons: We are a reseller and wanted to use these for new system rebuilds with Pentium-D CPU's. Out of the 15 we ordered, 4 worked. We have emailed for ECS for two weeks, flashed Bios', checked memory with compatibility and we are returning the remaining boards for refund.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent value board

Pros: Inexpensive board with support for P4, P4D, Celeron D, Core 2 Allendale, Conroe and Conroe-L (with latest BIOS). Onboard sound, video, LAN. Can use 20 or 24 pin ATX power (I tested, worked either way)

Cons: (not too bad for a value board) ATX power connector is right up against the 5.25" bays on many cases, Limited overclocking - FSB can only run 200-300 and limited voltage adjustments. Only SATA 150 and only 2 ports (but supports 4xIDE/ATAPI). Only 2 fan connectors.

Other Thoughts: I've bought 2 of these. No problems getting them working at spec speeds, and the XP drivers installed using the installer program on the CD without effort and worked on the first go. Some limitations, but it IS a value board. I've used it for P4-631 and Core 2 Duo E6400. With given FSB range, obviously 800 FSB chips can be overclocked more, though I've only tested OC for short periods of time just because. Considering my previous "fast" PC was an XP 2400+, both systems I've built on this board were a big step up.
I just hope the "bad caps" problem has been resolved since my last ECS board in 2001. Just remember, this is a value priced board - it's more than enough for most users, but don't expect top end features and performance at this price level.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrid little board

Pros: None

Cons: Oh, where do I start...

Other Thoughts: I've had three of these boards in various configurations and they all suffer from spontaneous reboots. Also, the VIA chipset is slooow no matter what memory you adorn it with. All in all, these board have cost me much more money in the long run trying to deal with their issues. I would even go as far as to recommend that you avoid all VIA based boards altogether. Stick with Intel or Nvidia.

5 out of 5 eggsCharm board

Pros: Built the new system with Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 CPU and this board. Try to over-clock the CPU, it works great and gain 20% more perofmance. Everything runs great without any problem.

Cons: It's OK.

3 out of 5 eggsECS

Pros: Board does whats expected. Used three of these to build machines. Bought all three from newegg. see cons...

Cons: All three boards were from newegg, all three boards were revision 2.0,
the first two used both DDR and DDR2, the third only used DDR2. So I now have to buy new ram...
Very limited overclocking, good overclock features but still only 10% overclock capable due to no pci\AGP bus lock.

Other Thoughts: Ran pentium D and Celeron d 352 very well for a cheap board...

Wish they would have changed the PCB
version.
