ECS8200
- Pros: I bought this Mobo with a bit of hesitation because of its price. Went in and fired up first time without any issues. Been running strong an stable for 12+ straight hours. My old mobo died and I needed something with onboard graphics til I got my new card. All I can say is wow, this mobo blows my buddies msn-sli away. This might not be SLI but it can handle 1066 ram, the new Phenoms, has all the features if you want to upgrade in a few months like I do. I built this as a get-me-by-for-now system and unless it dies soon I will be using this mobo until it does. Looks awesome
- Cons: Not SLI but if you got a 8800 and aren't rich it's not a con at all. IDT driver on the cd that came with the mobo didn't work, just downloaded the newest from IDT's website, works fine now. Northbridge only has heatsink but stays cool enough to touch. Again, not really a con.
- Other Thoughts: People said on other sites that the documentation was bad and poorly written. I got a 60 page manual that explained everything in plain english. SYSTEM - ECS GF8200A, 2GB Wintec AMP-X DDR2 PC6400 RAM, Cheap 480watt PSU, AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual-Core 5400+, 200gig Maxtor PATA drive (for now), cheap DVD burner, Thermaltake TMG A3 CPU Cooler.
Wonderfull Motherboard
- Pros: This motherboard has everything I need and more. With a nice backup onboard graphics great while your waiting for a graphics card upgrade. I don't use the sli mode. Some of the other reviews were not fair. It's a new board and there working on the BIOS & Driver's be patient. You won't be sorry. What a deal. Thanks ECS Your support is "Excellent" I called several times and they were very helpful and polite. They made sure all my questions were answered before I got off the line. It always helps when your polite to them and patient!
- Cons: Because it's a new board I haven't been able to get Everest or other system info tools to work with board. temp's, memory spec's , ect...
- Other Thoughts: System: Corsair TX 750W ATX 12V Power Supply, ECS GF8200A (V1.0) AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 8200 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard, G.SKILL 4GB (4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500), Phenom Quad Core 9500, PALiT NE/96SOSXT379 GeForce 9600 GSO 768MB, CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply. Newegg does it again with the best possible service anywhere. I've been buying from them for 10 years and they never let me down. They always go far beyond what I would expect anyone to do. I feel safe buying from Newegg. Thanks for everything you guys! Your the best out there. I could kiss you.

- Pros: Board has worked great since March '09. Easy to overclock with. Does everything I want it to. Use with Windows Vista and Fedora and I've had no funky driver issues.
- Cons: Did not want to overclock my Brisbane 5400+ (unlocked multi). It would never POST with the multiplier options even turned on. I eventually bought a new CPU so that problem got solved. Some of the language in the BIOS is wack. Hot northbridge. No SLi
- Other Thoughts: Great board, overall. This is my first non Asus board and I'm quite impressed!
Horrible
- Pros: It functions..NOW
- Cons: I was overly enthusiastic as this was my first mobo installation so I had room to expand and put a 260 in. This ruined my experience. I had installed everything and tried booting it up. No luck. It read the HDD but did not boot. I decided to flash it. I had to learn to flash a BIOS. After HOURS of fiddling with the BIOS flashing(thanks for the worthless instructions, ECS) It finally booted. Then it a lot the drivers stopped working and didn't read a lot of ports (for instance my ethernet port.) Oh gee, how am I supposed to download the driver without my ethernet port? Did that, did this. Now I'm waiting to download the last driver; however, the ECS driver page is DOWN! Also, when I tried to move around my sata cable, the entire sata port fell off until only the pins were left. Horrible experience. Even worst, the stupid manufacturers monitoring these reviews is just going to patronize me with a generic "Contact us if you are still having problems" reply. Their support hours suck too
- Other Thoughts: Windows Vista 32bit. I bet it won't last very long either. Do not buy from ECS.
