5 out of 5 eggsGood motherboard

Pros: Worked out of the box. No flaws. Standard ATX, fit fine. Runs well.

Cons: (1) Memory clips and top of graphics card are very close. you can't open the clip all the way to remove your memory if you have a GPU the same size as an 8 series or bigger. Put your memory in first.
(2) When your connecting the front panel connectors (HDD activity light / restart switch / power switch and light etc) are completely opposite of the color quick start diagram they send you in the box with the motherboard. You need to turn the diagram upside down to properly connect everything. Had my reset switch plugged to the power and i thought the mobo was bad for a while
(3) The CD that comes with the mobo (bought 1/10/09) is incompatible with windows vista 64bit business edition so you need to install your OS, put the drivers from their website (which work well) on a flash drive or burn them, and install them seperately if you your CD is ver 3.~ and you have Business ed.

Other Thoughts: Cons I listed are really other thoughts. But their negative things about the motherboard. I thought it fitting to list them under flaws. However, it is very easy to install ram first and connect the front panel connectors if you know its opposite before you start. However, drivers are so annoying. Driver on disk i got is ver 3.~. Driver on website is 9.~. PRETTY outdated.

3 out of 5 eggsMake sure you have the right proc

Pros: Don't know yet

Cons: I (naivelly) assumed that newegg knew what they were talking about when they listed the processors that are compatible with this mobo...turns out I should have checked ecs.com cuz the pentium D's are NOT compatible...make sure you do your research before buying this board!

Other Thoughts: Buying an intel core 2 duo and then we will see how good this mobo is...

5 out of 5 eggsECS p43t

Pros: Worked out of the box with my wolfdale.

It is a solid motherboard and I have had no problems thus far.

Cons: The documentation could have been a little better, but I still had the computer up in running in about an hour.

Other Thoughts: I am very happy with this motherboard. Bios has loads of overclocking potential / options, and best of all I did not break the bank!

e8400 wolfdale, 2x1 kingston ddr800 ram, 9800gt hybrid power, 80gig sata hd, liteon 32x combo drive, 650wat antec neopower, ECS p43t.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat for an hour

Pros: It supports windows...

Cons: Driver Disc that came with the MOBO did not work, see: not supported. After installing VISTA Prem 64-bit and updating drivers from EliteGroup site, I installed COD4: Modern Warfare played one game - machine crashed.

Other Thoughts: RMA-ed the first bad Mobo. The second was also bad. Got a Refund.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

COD4 is a very demanding game that requires the right mix of hardware components, such as video cards, memory, power supply, etc. Without these, system is known to crash and therefore not necessary the fault of the motherboard. Futhermore, we would not recommend building a system using our P43T-A2 board for such an intense gaming purpose. If you require more assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our support dept at: support@ecsusa.com or 510-226-7333 (option 6).

Sincerely,
ECS

5 out of 5 eggsgreat for a budget!

Pros: very nice for the price. had a low budget and this mobo is much better for the price than i had expected.

Cons: only has one PCI-E x16 slot which is in fact a PCI-E x16 2.0 despite the newegg specs. (if you look at the picture of the box you will see this) therefore i bought a PCI-E x16 video card instead of a 2.0 one... also no SLI capability =[ oh well, still a great budget buy, deserving of 5 stars

Other Thoughts: The blue LED lights in my PSU fan and case fans make the board seem to glow as if under a blacklight. looks pretty sick

5 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: The board installed very easily and everything seemed to be layed out just fine for my install. My Radeon X3870 is long but did not interfere with any of the SATA ports. Plenty of USB headers and plenty of options. The voltage settings are easy to find and really a life saver since the memory I bought needed 2.0V.
Board runs great with Vista x64!

Cons: These things are all fixable:
Flashing bios caused a checksum failure. I flashed it again (same new bios) and it still happened. So I went into BIOS and restored defaults and this fixed the problem. Also, I had to do +50mV on the CPU and 2.25v on the Ram because I was getting random freezes in Vista 64 (no BSOD, just freezes). But it's all fixed now!

Other Thoughts: System:
2.53 Intel Core Duo
4gigs of patriot ram (this stuff sucks)
HD 3870 Radeon card
Windows Vista Ultimate x64
