ECS Black, rock solid as usual
- Pros: Posts fine in windows 7, the chipset drivers load by default on windows 7. Board looks good and is fairly easy to overclock. The clear CMOS button on the rear panel is a nice touch for overclockers. The board offers a great value for an AM3 platform.
- Cons: None
Wish I could give it 5 eggs...
- Pros: Easy setup. Nice to have the CMOS reset button on the back panel. When in windows everything works ok.
- Cons: I had the same problem that a few people have had as well; This board would not overclock in the bios at all. Any time I even enabled the CPU frequency control in the BIOS and saved the changes, it would shut down and wouldn't even post until I reset the CMOS.
I'm also having problems with shutdown of the system. I'm using windows 7 ultimate and when I attempt to restart, the system will go down but not come back up until I cycle the main switch on the power supply. Same thing if I shutdown. Sometimes everything will power off, but still won't post or boot untill I cycle the switch on the PSU.
I tried to get a BIOS update from ECS but when I go to run the utility it says it can't load a driver. I hope ECS adds windows 7 support soon.
I spent about three months checking and rechecking before I decided to buy this board and now I'm beginning to wish I had gone with another brand.

Could overclock in windows with AMD overdrive utility to 3.2ghz by just changing multiplier. System was stable.

Manufacturer Response:To flash your BIOS in Windows 7 (as with Vista) you will need to temporarily turn off the User Account Controls. Remember to restart your system to have the changes take effect. ECS A790GXM AD3
- Pros: Looks Tight, Easy install. All I need for my gaming Rig. Recognizes my CPU, GPU and Memory RAM at first try. Lots of USB and SATA. Just upgraded from a AsRock Mobo and its great difference.
- Cons: Nothing to say about this Motherboard.
